Muslims Urinated Next to Torah Scrolls at Cave of Patriarchs

Yesterday Jews all over the world took to the streets in protest. Many of these protests turned violent and deadly. They screamed and raged over the desecration of one of the Holy Sites of Judaism, The Cave of the Patriarchs.

In hundreds of cities thousands of Jews screamed for the death of the unbelievers, crying out for revenge and threatening to kill thousands and take over the world. The death toll from the riots might be in the hundreds.

The Cave of the Patriarchs is a series of subterranean caves. The compound, located in the ancient city of Hevron, is the second holiest site for Jews (after the Temple Mount in Jerusalem) and is also venerated by Christians and Muslims all of whose traditions maintain that the site is the burial place of four Biblical couples: Adam and Eve, Abraham and Sarah, Isaac and Rebekah, Jacob and Leah. According to Midrashic sources the Cave of Patriarchs also contains the head of Esau, and Rachel, who was buried near Bethlehem where she died in childbirth.

Ok, I exaggerated. There were no riots, protests or calls for the beheading of unbelievers. But there is anger. The Cave of the Patriarchs was desecrated by Muslims on Friday.

Muslims converged on the Cave of Patriarchs in Hevron Friday for Ramadan prayers, urinated next to Torah scrolls and left behind Hamas flags.

The Cave of the Patriarchs is the tomb of the biblical founders of the Jewish faith, Abraham, Isaac, and Jacob and their wives, Sarah, Rivka, and Leah.

The desecration occurred on one of the 10 days during the year that the holy site is open only to Muslims and is closed to Jews. The same arrangement also is accorded to Jews on 10 holy Jewish days.

Ever since Muslims destroyed Torah scrolls in the Cave of the Patriarchs in the 1980s, Jews always remove holy books and lock the Holy Ark when they are prohibited from entering.

Noam Arnon, spokesman for the Jewish community in Hevron, said there is always some sort of damage discovered upon their return every time Jews are prohibited from entering the holy site.

Every time Muslims are allowed into the compound this happens. What do you think would happen if a group of Jews would do the same desecration at the al-Aqsa Mosque in Jerusalem? How long would the riots be world-wide? How many would die in them?

But this isn't the first or second or even third desecration of a Jewish site done by Muslims. The Jordanians were very good at destroying Jewish sites in Jerusalem and the West Bank during their occupation of the land. And then there was the desecration of Joseph Tomb in Shechem, in 2000.

Samaria Regional Council head Gershon Mesika is spearheading a political and financial effort to rebuild the tomb of the biblical figure Joseph, located in Shechem, 30 miles north of Jerusalem. The tomb was desecrated and pillaged by Arabs in October 2000, and remains in an area under control of the Palestinian Authority (PA).

Mesika was among nine busloads of Jews who entered Joseph's Tomb at 1:00 A.M. Friday to say selichot, the penitential prayers that are customarily recited during the weeks preceding Rosh HaShana.

The Jewish worshippers, who brought generators with them for electricity, reported that the occasion was a moving one, despite the run down and ravaged state of the tomb, which is currently being used by Arabs as a garbage dump.

That is the difference here. The believers of Islam are children in their actions. Carrying on temper tantrums when any little or big insult to their religion is done, real or imaginary. Jews, Christians, Buddhists, etc... Don't riot over these insults. They protest the actions of the perpetrators and prosecute them, not persecute them.

More and more of these desecrations will continue until the Israelis finally loose their patience with their Palestinian neighbors. The patience of a people is being warn thin, and sooner or later they will snap.
