Bloomberg Bans Breathing and Death to Battle Global Warming

Once again Mayor Bloomberg or as he is now known as Mayor Big Gulp has lost his battle to ban Big Gulp sodas, but has banned fats, salt, and smoking in the city, now has decided an excellent way to stop Global Warming:  Ban Breathing and Death.

New York City Mayor Michael Bloomberg announced at City Hall today that the city's Board of Health has instituted a ban on both breathing and death in order to combat the crippling effects of global warming.

The ban will go into effect in May of this year, giving city residents time to figure out their own personal strategies on how to comply with the edict.

At a press conference, Bloomberg explained the reasoning behind the ban. "Everyone knows that the act of breathing - actually, exhaling - puts carbon dioxide into the atmosphere. Likewise, decomposition of the body after death also releases this noxious gas. One person is no big deal, but multiply that by eight and a half million and that's one hefty ecological price tag."

Asked if commuters and other visitors to the city would have to comply with the ban, Bloomberg said that they would be required to refrain from breathing and dying while within city limits, but would be free to resume both activities once back in their own hometowns. "We do hope, however, that other municipalities will take our lead and institute similar bans in this historic effort to save the earth," he added. [Editor's note: As this story went to press, it was rumored that San Francisco and Seattle are considering similar legislation.]

Those citizens who are found in violation of the ban will be fined $250 for the first instance of breathing, and $500 for each subsequent offense. Death will result in a $1,000 fine levied upon the deceased's family and confiscation of the body for an ecologically friendly burial. A "No Bloating" poster campaign, showing a decomposing body encased in a red circle with a slash, is scheduled to run on the city's transportation system in order to promote awareness.

"I'm proud to say," Bloomberg said, "that my war on smoking, trans fats and salt will have a tremendous impact on people's ability to live forever. This means, though, that no more babies can be born, because overcrowding will soon become unbearable." He added that free sterilization is being offered at clinics across the city. Any babies born after the ban is in place will be taken and sent to China, where they will be raised and trained to work in factories that produce "I Love New York" t-shirts, mugs, hats, and miniature versions of the Statue of Liberty.

Bloomberg did acknowledge that his large sugary drink ban - affectionately known as the Big Gulp ban - being struck down would have a negative impact on immortality. "I kept telling people that large amounts of sugar are poisonous, but did they listen? Now we have to worry that people might actually die from ingesting large sodas at the movie theater, thus polluting our environment further."

"Remember," he said. "We're not banning anything. It's called portion control - in this case, one's portion of the environment. It's a typical way that companies use to and governments use to explain to people what's in their interest and what isn't."

CNN television host Piers Morgan agreed heartily with the mayor. "I think people need the nanny state occasionally. Particularly on issues like smoking, drinking, guzzling sodas that are too big for them, you know, breathing, dying, whatever it may be, the reality is we all need a bit of nannying," Morgan said.

When asked if there would be any waivers issued, Bloomberg said that government employees, politicians, union members and their families would automatically be exempt from the ban. No other exceptions are available.

If this wasn't satire I wouldn't put it past Mayor Big Gulp.  Bloomberg is now running for a 4th term as Mayor and as the city looks he will probably win.  I wonder what has happened to my home town and the sensible people who once lived there.

Another Day, Another Swastika

Once again in Brooklyn, New York swastikas were painted on stores and a synagogue in Borough Park.  This is a few months after the Midwood Anti-Semitic Attacks.  Then as now, Mayor Bloomberg and Borough President Marty Markowitz are quiet on this attack.  (Their silence on the other attacks were thunderous.)

Police are seeking the sick vandals who painted a half-dozen swastikas found this morning in a Jewish neighborhood in Brooklyn.

The swastikas were found at a synagogue, a Jewish bath house and several businesses around 16th Avenue in Borough Park.

Cops are investigating the vandalism as a hate crime, and are reviewing surveillance video from the area. No arrests have been made.

Surveillance video from Fischman’s Food Center at 4421 16th Ave., one of the vandalized businesses, shows two men in hoodies walking up to the store at about 2:45 a.m.

One of the men spray-painted the store’s front roll down gate, and then drew a swastika on the front plastic window panel.

The other man walked out of the camera’s view.

“Because they’ve got extra paint in their cans, they have to go out and spray other people’s property?” said Scheindel Fischman, who owns the business with her husband.

“It’s ridiculous. I’ve never heard of something like that,” she said.

“It’s a terrible shame that someone would do something like that,” said neighborhood resident Moshe Zwolinski, 53. “These are people who don’t really understand our culture and how we live.”

“What kind of sick person does this in a neighborhood of Holocaust survivors?” asked Assemblyman Dov Hikind (D-Brooklyn), one of an array of elected officials who expressed outrage over the incident.

The vandalized locations include Irgun Shiurai Torah, a synagogue on 16th Avenue at 46th Street, and Mikvah Israel, a bath house at 18th Avenue and 47th Street. A swastika was also sprayed on a car an area resident had parked near IS 223 at 16th Avenue and 42nd Street.

One woman feared the sick hate scrawl was just the beginning.

"It's very scary, they have the guts to come and do that," Moseh Liebermann, 70, said. "They start with the synagogue and then they will go to everybody's house."

No arrests have been made and the NYPD is reviewing security tapes from nearby businesses.

I should now expect Jesse Jackson and Al Sharpton to start marching in the neighborhood and demand a full investigation and put some poor shmuck in prison.

Sorry wrong minority.  I wish that Mayor Bloomberg and Brooklyn Borough President Markowitz would come to Borough Park and march for justice in Brooklyn.  Or is this going to be swept under the rug like the others were.

Die Jews!

Is the message that is being sent to the Jewish community of the Midwood section of Brooklyn.  A message that is accepted by President Obama, Mayor Bloomberg, Senators Schumer and Gillibrand and of course the members of the Main Lame Stream Media.

Anti-Jewish hate crimes continue to plague New York City. Over the weekend, Midwood, Brooklyn, was the latest area to fall prey to anti-Semitic actions. At least three buildings were spray-painted with swastikas and the words “Die Jew” were painted on a garage door at a private home.

Following the most recent string of hate, residents are concerned that more anti-Jewish occurrences are soon to plague the local community. See, Midwood has one of the largest populations of Holocaust survivors in the United States. Gothamist has more:

The “Die Jews” message is believed to have been left sometime before midnight Saturday, and two swastikas were also painted on the door of an apartment building at across the street. On Sunday morning, two big swastikas were also found on the Yeshiva of Brooklyn school on Ocean Parkway and Avenue L.

“When people see this ultimate symbol of hate, you cannot imagine the pain,” said New York State Assemblyman Dov Hikind, who lives just feet away from the home that was defaced. ”These things have been happening almost every single day in the tri-state area.”



“For children to come to school to see a swastika on their school is really shocking and appalling and it’s unacceptable,” added NYC Councilman David Greenfield. “And it’s just not the kind of behavior we expect in New York City, which has the largest Jewish population in the country.”

Jewish Week also reported on another recent incident that occurred in the Bronx

…last weekend, in the small Bronx community of City Island, vandals broke into Temple Beth-El and stole ritual items, including silver crowns from Holocaust-era Torah scrolls and kiddush cups shortly before Shabbat.

“Instead of preparing to welcome Shabbat with joyful song and dance, community members and clergy arrived to a mess in the sanctuary and police investigators saying, “Don’t touch anything,” said the congregation’s rabbi, Shohama Weiner, and a shul member, David Evan Markus, in an email message to The Jewish Week.

These unfortunate incidents come on the heels of other anti-Jewish actions that occurred in New York city late last year. In November, we reported on swastikas that were painted onto NYC library branches and a synagogue. We also covered a subway sign that was vandalized during that same month.

Interestingly, the subway stop, called Avenue J (one of its signs was changed to read “Avenue Jew”) is located in Midwood as well. Additionally, cars were torched in the same community late last year as well, although police are unsure whether the burnings were hate crimes or an insurance scam.

These prior crimes came around the same time that the Anti-Defamation League released a survey showing that anti-Semitic attitudes have risen in the United States. The study found that 15 percent of Americans — nearly 35 million adults — hold anti-Jewish views (up from 2009 by three percent).

There is an incident like this everyday in the Tri-State area.  Could you imagine the outrage by the media, by the politicians if someone wrote the word "NIGGER" on the garage of a black family?  Or just placed a noose in a tree?  And if that happened everyday would anyone be silent?

There is an official anti-Semitism coming from the Democratic Party.  Sent forth by President Barack Hussein Obama and encouraged by the rest of the Party and the media.

Bad Faith At Ground Zero

Once again Pat Condell is speaking out against the Ground Zero Mosque, Mayor Bloomberg, and President Obama.  He holds no bar, speaks his mind and lets the chips fall where they will.

Justice was served today!

New York Cops NOT GUILTY in Sean Bell shooting!

NEW YORK (CNN) -- Nicole Paultre Bell bolted from the courtroom as a judge acquitted three New York City detectives of all charges Friday in the shooting death of her fiance.

Justice Arthur Cooperman was announcing the verdict clearing Detectives Michael Oliver and Gescard Isnora of manslaughter, assault and reckless endangerment in the death of Sean Bell.

Detective Marc Cooper was cleared of reckless endangerment.

Bell, 23, died in November 2006 in a 50-bullet barrage hours before he was to be married. Two of his companions were wounded in the gunfire outside a Queens nightclub.

"This case was not about justice," declared Leroy Gadsden, chair of the police/community relations committee of the Jamaica Branch NAACP. "This case was about the police having a right to be above the law. If the law was in effect here, if the judge had followed the law truly, these officers would have been found guilty. ...

"This court, unfortunately, is bankrupt when it comes to justice for people of color."

Mayor Michael Bloomberg (that bastion of race pandering) issued a statement saying, "A innocent man lost his life, a bride lost her groom, two daughters lost their father, and a mother and a father lost their son. No verdict could ever end the grief that those who knew and loved Sean Bell suffer."

However, he said, the legal system must be respected.

"America is a nation of laws, and though not everyone will agree with the verdicts and opinions issued by the courts, we accept their authority."

Yes, Mayor Bloomberg, we are a nation of laws. The justice system worked in this case. The jury didn't buy the prosecutor's case. They didn't want to send the message that the police are always the criminals and the victims were totally innocent of any wrong doing. NYC police are well trained, they are not vigilantes or thugs. These are the men that ran into the World Trade Center when we were attacked on 9/11. You and Rev. Sharpton forget that. To you and him they are murderers. No, Mr. Mayor. These men, who put their lives on the line to protect the citizens of NY City, are not murderers. They are heroes.

I am reminded of the O.J. Simpson verdict. That miscarriage of justice did not result in rioting. Did not result in a federal investigation. Did result in a civil verdict. Rev. Sharpton and other "black" leaders are calling for protests. Are calling for a federal investigation. Are crying that there is no justice. They are screaming the old cry of the oppressed minority that has been heard since the Rodney King verdicts: "No Justice, No Peace!"

Today justice was served. And she showed herself to be blind to color.
