Junk Science Hamas Style

I am no longer surprised at the stupidity and willingly to convince the world every lie about Israel they can think of.  Whether it is aphrodisiac gum, stolen human organs, or the use of chemical weapons.  Today the latest Junk Science Claim is a doozy!  The Israelis can manufacture Earthquakes.  Earthquakes powerful enough to destroy the Al-Aqsa Mosque.
Ismail Radwan, Minister of Religious Affairs in Gaza's Hamas government, claims that Israel is trying to cause an artificial earthquake to totally collapse the Al-Aqsa Mosque on the Temple Mount in Jerusalem. According to Radwan, Israel is attempting to do so to establish the Third Temple.

The comments came at an event organized by female students of the College for Professional Applied Sciences. In response to the supposed "earthquake attack," Radwan called for a general national enlistment to the military, and to support the mosque by having fixed presence at the site.

Radwan said through repeated Jewish access to the Temple Mount, as well as "excavations and criminal acts," the Israeli "occupation" has "arrived at the stage of accustoming Palestinians, Arabs and Muslim to accept the existing reality so as to implement their goals to destroy the mosque and build the supposed Temple."

The minister blamed peace talks and security arrangements between Israel and the Palestinian Authority (PA) as providing cover for the "criminal acts" on the Temple Mount.

Regardless of Hamas's fantastic scenarios, Israel is facing a real earthquake danger. In October, the Home Front Minister MK Gilad Erdan (Likud) warned that a major earthquake is looming that could potentially kill 7,000 Israelis.

The fact is that Israel is on the tail end of the Great Rift Valley.  The Israel Plate is grinding along the Arabian Plate. Sooner or later there WILL be a major (6+ or above) earthquake.  With all the digging under the Dome of the Rock and Al-Aqsa Mosque done by the Muslims, I would be very surprised if they didn't collapse upon themselves.  One could then say it was the Hand of G-d.  And it would be.

On a happier note, Israel is the first non-European nation to be granted full membership into CERN.  The Fakistinians have not yet asked demanded for membership into CERN.  They will as soon as they discover a Physicist that is Fakistinian.

Speeding Is OK!

Albert Einstein no less stated that "Nothing could ever go faster than the Speed of Light."  We can now say that Professor Einstein was wrong.
It was Albert Einstein, no less, who proposed more than 100 years ago that nothing could travel faster than the speed of light.

But last night it emerged that the man who laid the foundations for the laws of nature may have been wrong.

The science world was left in shock when workers at the world’s largest physics lab announced they had recorded subatomic particles travelling faster than the speed of light

If the findings are proven to be accurate, they would overturn one of the pillars of the Standard Model of physics, which explains the way the universe and everything within it works.

Einstein’s theory of special relativity, proposed in 1905, states that nothing in the universe can travel faster than the speed of light in a vacuum. But researchers at the CERN lab near Geneva claim they have recorded neutrinos, a type of tiny particle, travelling faster than the barrier of 186,282 miles (299,792 kilometers) per second.

The results have so astounded researchers that American and Japanese scientists have been asked to verify the results before they are confirmed as a discovery.

Antonio Ereditato, spokesman for the researchers, said: “We have high confidence in our results. We have checked and rechecked for anything that could have distorted our measurements but we found nothing.”

Scientists agree if the results are confirmed, that it would force a fundamental rethink of the laws of physics.

John Ellis, a theoretical physicist, said Einstein’s theory underlies “pretty much everything in modern physics”.

I actually believe that Professor Einstein would have been thrilled with this result. And it only goes to show everyone that like many drivers, even sub-atomic particles love to speed!

Nerds Gone Wild

Hat tip Simply Jews

The Large Hadron Collider (LHC) is the world's largest particle accelerator complex, intended to collide opposing beams of 7 TeV protons. Its main purpose is to explore the validity and limitations of the Standard Model, the current theoretical picture for particle physics. The LHC was built by the European Organization for Nuclear Research (CERN), and lies under the Franco-Swiss border near Geneva, Switzerland. The LHC is the world's largest and the highest-energy particle accelerator.[1] It is funded and built in collaboration with over eight-thousand physicists from over eighty-five countries as well as hundreds of universities and laboratories. The idea of the Large Hadron Collider (LHC), began in the early 1980s. The first approval of the project by the CERN Council occurred in December 1994 and the first civil engineering construction work began in April 1998.
The synchronization of the LHC's clockwise beam transfer system and the rest of CERN's accelerator chain was successfully achieved last weekend. Tests began on Friday 8 August when a single bunch of a few particles was taken down the transfer line from the SPS accelerator to the LHC.
The men and women at CERN have much to sing about.

I just hope that they are better at physics than at rap.
