Afghan diplomat Mohammed Fagirad charged in all-day wife beating

An Afghan diplomat was charged Friday with beating his wife "like a dog" for more than 15 hours in their Queens home, prosecutors said.

Mohammed Fagirad, 30, a vice consul at the Afghanistan Consulate, brutalized his wife inside their Flushing home from about 8:30 a.m. Wednesday until nearly midnight, Queens District Attorney Richard Brown said.

During the attack, Fagirad bit, slapped, choked and beat the 22-year-old woman with a belt, pushed her down a flight of stairs and sat on her chest, prosecutors said.

At one point, prosecutors said, Fagirad threw his wife up against a wall, held her there by the neck and then let her drop to the floor, where he beat her with a belt.

Fagirad told police his "wife was a dog and he was going to treat her like a dog," prosecutors said.

When Fagirad left the home, his wife fled and went to the 109th Precinct stationhouse, where she filed a domestic violence report, prosecutors said. She then returned home.

When Fagirad returned, he demanded his wife's cell phone and called police to file a counterclaim, prosecutors said.

The sad thing about this story is that the perpetrator is a diplomat. That means the worst that could happen to him is to be thrown out of the country. And his wife, the victim, would have to go to. She will get no justice, and he will probably kill her when they arrive back in Afghanistan. It is legal there to kill your wife, your daughter, your mother, your sister, your aunt if they have dishonored you.

Now where is NOW, or all the other women's groups? Why have they not taken to the streets in protest of this attack and other attacks on women by Muslims men? Why have they been silent? The silence is deafening to the ears. We don't see them protest this and other outrages by the Muslim community against women. But we do see them scream bloody murder if someone like Bill O'Reilly makes a comment about Helen Thomas. You will see them condemn Israel over and over again. But not a peep out of them when Muslim men defend domestic violence and even give advise on how to do it:

The are only following what is written in the Koran:

Sura 4:34 - "Men have authority over women because God has made the one superior to the other, and because they spend their wealth to maintain them. Good women are obedient. They guard their unseen parts because God has guarded them. As for those from whom you fear disobedience, admonish them and send them to beds apart and beat them. Then if they obey you, take no further action against them. Surely God is high, supreme."

Therefore it is allowed and legal to beat your wife, even unto death. Just don't leave any marks on her face. That is not allowed.

Until the Civilized world wakes up and tells these savages no to their arcane and obsolete laws, women will be abused, beaten and killed every where. It is time for Western governments to put their foot down, stop dancing around Muslims as if they were Gods, and tell them in no uncertain terms that this behavior is not acceptable in our lands. You will conform to our standards of living. Or you can leave this country. It is time not to fear Muslims or being called a racist just because you don't want to live in the 7th Century. It is time to take a stand and speak out now!
