18 Inches And Counting

18 inches is what the National Weather Service predicted for the Blizzard of 2011. To those who live in Alaska or Northern Canada, 18" is not a lot of snow.  Here just outside of Chicago, 18 to 24" is a big deal.

Schools, banks, businesses are closed!

Though this is considered a Christmas song (As the video shows.), this song is just the right song for this day.

Dean Martin - Let it Snow!

Keep inside, keep warm, keep safe!!

It may give away my age but I remember when it was sung by Vaughn Monroe...when Dean Martin was not even heard of yet...
I've always liked that song no matter who sung it...and although it only comes around at Chirstmas time the word 'Christmas' is never mentioned.

Say, get that snow off the streets! We're looking for a weather break to make a run up to Massachusetts...it's for humaitarian purposes and we need to get this show on the road. They'll be two of us driving...taking turns driving straight through...
No snow here in southeast Alabama, just a little cold rain came in about two hours ago.
Talk to ya later...Norm

Did you take that picture? Sort of reminds me of Boston...but you say it's just outside of Chicago...

Years ago, when I first entered the Air Force, my roommate during tech school days was from South Ada Street in Chicago... his name was Eddie Gercas...wonder where Eddie is today...

I didn't take the picture, I found it on-line. Tried to take a picture, but was having white-out conditions.

I think it is Chicago, but could be Boston or an old neighborhood in New York.
