Reparations for slavery is a proposal by some in America that some type of compensation should be provided to the descendants of enslaved people, in consideration of the labor provided for free over several centuries, without which (it is argued) the United States would never have attained its wealth and global power. This compensation has been proposed in a variety of forms, from individual monetary payments to community-based improvement schemes related to health and education. The idea remains highly controversial and no broad consensus exists as to how it could be implemented.
This would have been fine in 1865, but not today. No member of the African-American community living today has been a slave. Their parents weren't slaves. Their grandparents weren't slaves. You have to go far back in some families to find a slave.
Yet on July 23, 2008 Senator Barack Hussein Obama said this:
Sen. Barack Obama said fixing public schools would be reparations to African-Americans for generations of slavery, a position that won wide applause in the CNN/YouTube debate in South Carolina. "If we make the investments and understand that those are our children, that's the kind of reparations that are really going to make a difference in America right now," he said. And on August 2, 2008 said this:
My family never owned slaves, wasn't even in the United States at the time in which slavery existed. So why should I have to pay for it?The man with a serious chance to become the nation's first black president argues that government should instead combat the legacy of slavery by improving schools, health care and the economy for all.
"I have said in the past — and I'll repeat again — that the best reparations we can provide are good schools in the inner city and jobs for people who are unemployed," the Illinois Democrat said recently.
If African-Americans get reparations for slavery from the United States then I want reparations from Spain which kicked out my ancestors in 1492 and from Egypt for enslaving my people until the L-rd and Moses set us free. I figure that each of these nations owe myself and my people at least $100,000 in Reparations. Then there are the Romans and their enslavement of many peoples. Shouldn't they pay for that little mistake?
Just Say No to Reparations!

I heard a review of the book Obamation..its supposed to be full of details like this Katie!
There's part, though very small, Native American in me, so I'll be in line, too. Wonder if I'll get money from black Americans descended from slaves sold by black Africans to white slave traders? After all, the Buffalo Soldiers, who were black, were part of America's war on Native Americans in the Plains and Southwest.
But, seriously, it no longer matters what Obama says these days. His history shows he favors them.
And lest we not forget his bestest, closest spiritual adviser Jeremiah Wright--you know, the one he could not disown, apparently until it was politically expedient--was the keynote speaker at the 2007 annual conference of N’COBRA, which stands for the National Coalition of Blacks for Reparations in America.
More from a story in Accuracy in Media -- go here:http://www.aim.org/aim-column/does-obama-favor-slavery-reparations/ -- about Wright, TUCC, Obama and reparations for blacks. It's worth reading and passing along, I think:
"Wright’s talk, 'A Call for Justice and Repair,' followed a statement in which he declared that 'The Biblical principle of true repentance is that the offended party is given compensation to make up for that which has been stolen from them, the losses that have been inflicted upon them and their families.'
"A reparations plan for blacks could extract several trillion dollars from American taxpayers’ pockets.
"But Wright isn’t the only controversial member of Obama’s church. Dr. Iva Carruthers, who describes herself as an active member of the church, is an outspoken advocate of reparations for blacks and was a participant in N’COBRA’s 2004 conference.
"Carruthers was identified, along with Wright, as a member of Obama’s African American Religious Leadership Committee. Wright has since been dropped from the group. But Carruthers is sometimes referred to as a spokesman for Wright and works with him closely.
"Indeed, Carruthers may be even more controversial, especially on the issue of reparations. She wrote The Church and Reparations―An African American Perspective, which was reportedly 'distributed by her denomination' at the 2001 U.N. World Conference Against Racism, Racial Discrimination, Xenophobia and Related Intolerance.
"The conference was considered so extreme that the U.S. delegation, led by then-Secretary of State Colin Powell, walked out.
"Not only are members of his church involved in the reparations movement; Obama is said to have been politically close to former Chicago Alderman Dorothy Jean Wright Tillman, who led an effort by the Chicago City Council to demand reparations for slavery.
"'Chicago has become the de facto center of the slavery reparations movement,' noted a journalist for the far-left In These Times."
Chicago. De facto center of slavery reparations movement. Obama. Wright. Carruthers.
While Obama has obviously lied about Wright's and TUCC's influence on him--even during 20+ years of sleeping in the pews, as Obama claims, firguatively, something of Wright's dogma would've penetrated Obama's consciousness--Obama remains the racial separatist.
And woe to him or her whose skin color is different.
But, then, Barry's half white, isn't he?
Just curious: Didn't Hitler use the same one-drop racial-stereotyping/differentiating theory to identify and then exterminate Jews--the same one-drop theory that the black community uses to distinguish anyone who calls him or herself black, isn't it?
