No money for shelters for western Negev, but 72 Million NIS to Gaza

By Noam Bedein

Israel Minister of Defense Ehud Barak has approved the transfer 72 mil. NIS to the Palestinian Authority to pay salaries of public officials and civil servants in the Hamas-ruled Gaza Strip, The Jerusalem Post Reported on Wednesday

PA Prime Minister Salaam Fayad requested the funding in the framework of the still existent Mecca accord from June, 2007, which mandates funding and resources cooperation between Hamas and Fatah. Israel is allocating these funds despite the July 27th report by Shin Bet [GSS] director Yuval Diskin that Hamas is utilizing the ceasefire in Gaza in order to rearm itself.

"Since the ceasefire began, four tons of explosives have entered the Strip, as well as 50 anti-tank missiles, light arms, and materials for Qassam manufacture," he reported.

Furthermore, the transfer by Israel comes in the midst of a ‘cease fire’ that has seen 22 Qassam rockets and mortars fired into Sderot and the western Negev since the ceasefire began June 19. The IDF has yet to respond militarily.

Once again, we cease—they fire.

While Defense Minister Barak aggressively allocates funds for Palestinian salaries in Gaza, The Jerusalem Post reported Thursday, that Barak has confirmed that the Israel Ministry of Defense cannot “foot the bill for fortification” of shelters or protection for homes and of public buildings for the 45 Jewish communities contiguous to Gaza.

This occurs at a time when:
*over 4,000 residents of Sderot and the Western Negev are asking the Israeli government for help in building protected rooms in their unprotected private homes.

*over 500 families in Sderot are now fighting the Israel Tax Authority for compensation for the damage to their homes from rocket attacks.

*over 1700 small business near the point of bankruptcy have asked for emergency government allocation.
Over the past two years, the Israeli government, the Jewish Agency for Israel and a plethora of Jewish organizations have been fundraising for “Sderot and the western Negev”. The Israeli government has gone so far as to organize concerts to raise funds for the region. It is therefore surprising that the Israeli government suddenly claims that it does not have sufficient funds to protect and compensate the people of Israel.

Instead, Israel props up a radical Islamic regime that calls for the destruction of the “Zionest entity,” and operates as “Tehran’s third arm,” as it brazenly prepares and promises a new intense missile bombardment of Sderot and the Western Negev.

As the Israel Information Center on Intelligence and Terrorism has assessed:

“Hamas has become stronger… since the disengagement from Gaza, like no other terror militia in the entire world.”

This week, as Israel marked three years since the disengagement and removal of all Israeli soldiers and civilians from Jewish communities in Gaza, Israeli intelligence estimated that the smuggling of military weaponry and rocket material has significantly increased. Over the past three years, the Gazan terrorists have smuggled over 222 tons of explosives, 10 million bullets and hundreds of anti-tank missiles.

New intelligence has reported that recently upgraded Grad-type missiles can now reach Ashdod, Kiryat Gat and even Beersheba, putting at least another 250,000 Israeli citizens under the threat of rocket fire.

That makes quite an equation. Add that to the quarter-million Israelis who were under threat before the ceasefire, and the figure comes out to half-a-million Israelis under missile threat. Meanwhile, 72 mil. NIS has been transferred to Hamas—as if that gift will stop the missile attacks.

“Bribery will blind the saintly person” says the tractate of the Talumdic moral code, known as Ethics of the Father.

It is hard to comprehend what bribery does to the evil person.

From Monkey in the Middle:

This is only the lull before the next round of firestorms begin. Hamas has been very busy building new rockets, placing booby traps for Israeli soldiers and re-arming themselves for the next round.

Make no mistake about Hamas' intentions. Their stated goal is the destruction of the state of Israel.
Article Eleven: The Strategy of Hamas: Palestine is an Islamic Waqf

The Islamic Resistance Movement believes that the land of Palestine has been an Islamic Waqf throughout the generations and until the Day of Resurrection, no one can renounce it or part of it, or abandon it or part of it. No Arab country nor the aggregate of all Arab countries, and no Arab King or President nor all of them in the aggregate, have that right, nor has that right any organization or the aggregate of all organizations, be they Palestinian or Arab, because Palestine is an Islamic Waqf throughout all generations and to the Day of Resurrection. Who can presume to speak for all Islamic Generations to the Day of Resurrection? This is the status [of the land] in Islamic Shari’a, and it is similar to all lands conquered by Islam by force, and made thereby Waqf lands upon their conquest, for all generations of Muslims until the Day of Resurrection. This [norm] has prevailed since the commanders of the Muslim armies completed the conquest of Syria and Iraq, and they asked the Caliph of Muslims, ‘Umar Ibn al-Khattab, for his view of the conquered land, whether it should be partitioned between the troops or left in the possession of its population, or otherwise. Following discussions and consultations between the Caliph of Islam, ‘Umar Ibn al-Khattab, and the Companions of the Messenger of Allah, be peace and prayer upon him, they decided that the land should remain in the hands of its owners to benefit from it and from its wealth; but the control of the land and the land itself ought to be endowed as a Waqf [in perpetuity] for all generations of Muslims until the Day of Resurrection. The ownership of the land by its owners is only one of usufruct, and this Waqf will endure as long as Heaven and earth last. Any demarche in violation of this law of Islam, with regard to Palestine, is baseless and reflects on its perpetrators.
How can you make a deal with an enemy that's slogan is:

Allah is its goal, the Prophet its model, the Qur’an its Constitution, Jihad its path and death for the case of Allah its most sublime belief.

The Israeli government under Ehud Olmert has sold out the people of Sderot and the Western Negev. But you can help them.
