These brave men and women sacrifice so much in their lives so that others may enjoy the freedoms we get to enjoy everyday. For that, I am proud to call them Hero.

Coming right off his infamous Deny the Holocaust/Death to Israel tour, President Mahmoud Ahmadinejad also known as Monkeyman, an the lovable Mullahs of Iran has finished their "War Games".
A couple of days in which Iran fired off a few rockets:
Not bad, but they did better the last time.
And with revelations of another hidden nuclear facility, and Mahmoud and the Mullahs (their new CD will be out in November, order it now!) should be sitting pretty. Even if the US tries to put sanctions on Iran they fear no evil (or anything else), for Russia and China will protect them, or so they believe.
The US has already announced that it is ok for Iran to acquire nuclear weapons. (I know that Obama is trying to appease the Muslims, but this won't help.)
So what is a small, besieged nation to do?
The easy thing would be to give in to Iran's demands. That is what Barack Hussein Obama and the EU appeasers want Israel to do.
Just one problem: There would be no Israel then, an every Jew in the nation would be massacred. No wonder Obama and the EU like this idea.
There is a solution to the problem. A simple solution:
A very simple solution. There is no way (no matter what Monkeyman thinks) that Iran could block the Straits of Hormutz if the US decided to actually use their Navy to keep that from happening.
And the Mullahs should take note of what happens to nations and empires that have tried to destroy the Jewish people:
32 years ago Roman Polanski plea guilty to having sex with a 13 year old girl (he was 420. When he discovered that he was going to have to serve some time in prison, he fled the country. It has taken all this time to be able to serve the arrest warrant to him (he was arrested in Switzerland).
In the normal world (outside of Hollywood), the man who raped a 13 year-old child would be a pariah in the community. He and his family would be shunned, hounded out of town, banished as social outcasts. But not in Hollywood. As long as you have won awards, and direct films, any deviant behavior is acceptable.
"I know it wasn't 'rape' rape. I think it was something else, but I don't believe it was 'rape' rape," said Goldberg, dismissing the possibility that Polanski had forced himself on anyone.
"He plead guilty to having sex with a minor and he went to jail, and when they let him out (on bail, pending sentencing), he said, 'You know what, this guy's going to give me 100 years in jail. I'm not staying.' And that's why he left.
"So that's why I wanted to be really clear," Goldberg said, "cause I want to know exactly what I'm talking about."
For the record:
Roman Polanski PLEAD GUILTY TO STATUTORY RAPE! He fled the country when he discovered that he would have to go to prison (he belongs there). He has lived in luxury and comfort in France (which has refused to extradite him). And now most of Hollywood's liberal elites are rallying behind him (I wonder how many of them have 13 year old daughters?).
Actors and actresses from Harrison Ford to Debra Winger have reportedly joined the growing throng of liberal celebrities calling for Polanski to be released following his arrest in Switzerland last week.
Studio kingpin Harvey Weinstein says he is leading the charge and "e-mailing everybody I know" to push for the swift release of his friend, whom he calls a "humanist" who has been the victim of a gross "miscarriage of justice" for more than three decades.
"We will have to speak to our leaders ... particularly in California," Weinstein wrote in an op-ed Tuesday. "I'm not too shy to go and talk to the Governor of California, Arnold Schwarzenegger, and to ask him once and for all to look at this."
Scores of American film icons from Woody Allen to Martin Scorsese have signed a petition demanding "the immediate release of Roman Polanski," saying they were "dismayed" by his arrest.
There is something about the way Hollywood is rallying to this pervert's side that angers me to no end. I cannot tell you why, but I am madder than a wet cat at Hollywood's acceptance of rape.
I feel that we have to start some where to speak up for the victims since there is no so-called celebrity willing to do it.
I feel that we need to make a strong statement to Barbara Walters who is the boss on the view. An retraction by Whoopie Goldberg is not good enough. It is time for her to go. Until then, I will not watch The View, and will boycott their sponsors (as soon as I discover the full list, I will post it). If you are as angry at Ms. Goldberg's comments you can express your displease with The View here.
Oh and Ms. Goldberg, having sex with a 13 year-old child is RAPE, regardless if the girl's parents gave the rapist permission!
Some black Mercedes SUV's showed up in Hardin, Montana where a new, never-used detention facility is sitting empty. The SUV's had a strange decal on them. See that photo below. That's the background.
In the video below, Al Peterson, spokesman for the Two Rivers Detention in Hardin, Montana is quoted saying: "we are excited to have a military presence in a town without a police force." What does that mean? Who is American Police Force? Why would a Two Rivers spokesman refer to them as "military?" Who will be prisoners in the Two Rivers Detention facility? What do residents of Hardin, Montana think about American Police force? See video below.

Barbara Sowell at FaultlineUSA started the search for information about the situation in Hardin, Montana and posted her findings here at Maggie's Notebook. Dean Bremkamp blogging at Do the Right Thing first brought this to our attention. This post will build on their information and will be updated as new information is available and sources are found.
There are three pertinent questions for starters:
1) Is a corporation, American Police Force locating its operation in Hardin, Montana - planning to operate a training center?
2) Is a corporation contracting with the city to use or purchase the city's jail facilities to house prisoners, and if so, who will the prisoners be?
3) Will American Police Force actually be the police force in Hardin, Montana.
To begin, Kevin Flaherty, blogging in New Zealand at Cryptongon.com blogs on private military contractors. He says he "routinely" follows stories about "mercenaries." Crypton.com's [Flaherty] research about APFC is quoted in the Billings Gazette (linked below). The following will give you some food for thought:
Separate research efforts by The Billings Gazette and others turned up connections and similarities between the APF Web site and sites for other little-known defense procurement companies.
All of the Web sites share similarities in design, and some include exactly the same phrases, a red flag to Kevin Flaherty, an American blogger living in New Zealand who writes about private military contractors.
Public records show that the APF Web site, Americanpolicegroup.com, was first registered on May 15, about two weeks after an effort by the Two Rivers Authority to pursue prisoners from Guantanamo Bay made national headlines.
A section of text on the APF site refers to the company’s “U.S. Training Center,” and matches word for word text from the Web site for Xe, formerly Blackwater. That company’s U.S. Training Center is touted as the largest facility of its kind.
APF representatives have said that their company is a subsidiary of an undisclosed parent corporation founded in 1984. Blackwater was started in 1997.
Public Internet records show that the APF Web site is one of six hosted on a single Web server, including a site for Defense Product Solutions.
Both share the same double-eagle logo, and the same company, Purepoint Design, developed both Web sites. No one answered a call to Purepoint’s office in Newport Beach, Calif.
A section of text on the Defense Product Solutions Web site matches word for word text found on Web sites for Allied Defense Systems and Defense Logistic Services, all promising a similarly exhaustive range of military products and services.
Public records for those companies and others with similar Web sites – including Defense Contracting and Consulting, and Worldwide Military Exchange – all show connections to Edward Angelino, a government contractor in Huntington Beach, Calif.
There is this from an original Cryptogon.com post from Flaherty on September 14th [snippets, not continguous]:
An attorney for American Police Force, Maziar Mafi, describes the Santa Ana, Calif., company as a fledgling spin-off of a major security firm founded in 1984. But Mafi declined to name the parent firm or provide details on how the company will finance its jail operations.
On its elaborate Web site and in interviews with company representatives, American Police Force claims to sell assault rifles and other weapons in Afghanistan on behalf of the U.S. military while providing security, investigative work and other services to clients “in all 50 states and most countries.”
However, an Associated Press search of two comprehensive federal government contractor databases turned up no record of American Police Force.
American Police Force also is promising to invest $30 million in new projects for the city, including a military and law enforcement training center with a 250-bed dormitory and an expansion of the jail to 2,000 beds. The company says it will build a homeless shelter, offer free health care for city residents and even deliver meals to the needy.
The same report adds this intriguing detail. An AP reporter visited the offices of APF in Santa Ana, CA, and found "Captain Michael behind a desk there:
The man said his boss is a retired U.S. Army colonel named Richard Culver who is currently overseas. Culver’s role with the company could not be immediately verified.
The company claim of a headquarters address is just up the street from the White House.
The K Street building houses “virtual offices,” where clients pay to use the prestigious Pennsylvania Avenue address and gain access to onsite conference rooms but have no permanent presence. [APFC has an application pending]

Research about The American Police Force (APF):
*) This is their website. The url reads www.americanpolicegroup.com. They do not refer to themselves as a corporation, but an "organization." Apparently, the website, since this hit the news, is not always available. AFC says this:
As part of our mission, APF plays a critical role in helping the U.S. government meet vital homeland security and national defense needs. Within the last 5 years the United States has been far and away our #1 client.
*) The American Police Force was incorporated in California in March 2009 Says they specialize in "training military and security forces oversees. Michael Hilton seems to be the spokesman for the company.
*) APF has black SUV's with a never-used Hardin logo which says "City of Hardin Police Force."
APF's Michael Hilton says they are looking for ground for "a planned tactical military training ground." They need 5000-10,000 acres.
*) Some APF representatives are staying at a bed-and-breakfast in Hardin.
*) APF plans to hire 200 locally. They have hired the company's first local employee:
On Friday, American Police Force announced its first local hire: a reporter for the Billings Gazette, Becky Shay, who has covered events surrounding the jail since its construction. She will be the company's spokeswoman for $60,000 a year.
Shay said she intended to bring new transparency to the process, but declined to directly answer the first question posed to her: Where is American Police Force getting the money to operate the jail and build the training center?
“I know enough about where the money is coming from to be confident signing on with them,” she said.
*) CBS Crimesider reports "significant obstacles" for APFC, including no signed contracts to bring in prisoners from outside Montana.
*) Hilton is reported to say that the company will begin payments to Hardin on February 1, 2010, and said their agreement with the city is worth at least $2.6 million annually.

Information about Hardin, Montana and the city's interaction with APFC:
**) Hardin, Montana has a never used "detention" facility known as Two Rivers. Two Rivers Detention Center cost $27 million and the bonds have been in default since May 2008. It has never been used - no prisoners ever. Two Rivers can accommodate 464 prisoners.
**) Hardin has not had a police force in the last 30 years. The Sheriff of Big Horn Countyserves the town.
**) The city of Hardin offered the facility to house prisoners from Guantanamo Bay. Montana Governor, Brian Schweitzer, has opposed bringing in prisoners from outside the state. In 2007, the Montana Attorney General said it was illegal to bring in prisoners from outside Montana. Hardin sued the State and won.
**) The city announced an agreement with APF two weeks ago, but there appears to be no signed agreement.

An image on KULR’s Web site shows the insignia on the APF vehicles, which has caused some concern on the Internet as being of conspiratorial origin.
APF’s coat of arms, a clearer version of which appeared on the group’s Web site (which had been taken down at time of this writing but is viewable here), shows a double-headed eagle with a red shield and white cross borne on its breast.
The coat appears very similar to the insignia attributed to one Prince Aleksandar Karageorgevich, based on RAW STORY’s analysis of images hosted by Burke’s Peerage & Gentry International Register of Arms. The site notes the coat as hailing from the Royal crown of Serbia.
However, the significance or implied nationality of the insignia’s crown could not immediately be identified.

Here are excerpts from an e-mail I received today. I have not verified all of the allegations made in this e-mail:
" . . .We have found out that our little town of Hardin is the 'test town' for President Obama’s new law to privatize the police force of local communities. Last night, the city council voted to disband our sheriff’s department and to bring in a private security company to police the town. . .
. . .Yesterday, a convoy of twelve 'blacked out' Mercedes Benz SUV’s were brought into town. They were already painted with Hardin’s colors and ‘Hardin Police Force’ was already painted on them! Hardin’s sheriff’s department will no longer be in operation after the month of October. During October, the Sheriff’s Department is to train this new security force in all the logistics of running the town of Hardin. . .
. . .Earlier this month, in an interview in regards to this Hardin prison and the training center that they are planning to build, we were told that seventy five percent of the security officers that were to be trained would be ‘international’. . .
This private security force is already patrolling the town. They had several people stopped yesterday. Also, it appears that they are building some type of heavy duty gate at the entrances of our town.
In an interview, the American Police Force security has stated that they will stay here one month to assess the population and then they will make their permanent base here. They said they are scouting out thirty towns in the U.S. but that Hardin is the first. Also, President Obama has authorized and signed a bill for full government funding of the privatization of the police departments throughout the U.S. By the end of October, it is their plan to have all major cities locked down!
In an interview with one of the city council members, he stated that this new H1N1 shot which has not been tested will be mandatory and if a resident of our town refuses, they will be taken to our prison where they will be quarantined. A federal law has been passed that makes it mandatory that all health care workers have to take this new shot. If they do not, they will automatically loose their jobs. . .
I (name withheld by this editor) am also told by a reliable source that today one of the managers at a local business in Hardin was visited by this new private security force which is now the new Hardin Police Department. He is an avid hunter and they came to inform him that they had a list of all fire arms that he owned; this includes all the residents of our town, and that he would need to take his guns down to have them put a marking device on them.
Also, today, one of the main streets in Hardin was completely blocked off and they have been setting up information booths where they are passing out pamphlets with information on this new H1N1 shot.
. . .I am not making up any of this information! You can go on the internet and verify most of this information from KULR 8, MSNBC or Fox news. Things have changed so quickly in the last 24 hours! Things are not and will never be the same. . ."

Tonight starts the most holiest day in Judaism, Yom Kippur, The Day of Atonement. Many Jews who do not observe any other Jewish custom will refrain from work, fast and/or attend synagogue services on this day.
Why is this day the holiest? Why do we fast and pray so intensely to G-d for our forgiveness?
It is written that on this date, G‑d forgave the Jewish people for the sin of the Golden Calf. Forty days after hearing G‑d say at Mount Sinai: "You shall not have the gods of others in My presence; you shall not make for yourself a graven image," the Jews committed the cardinal sin of idolatry. Moses spent nearly three months on top of the mountain pleading with G‑d for forgiveness, and on the tenth of Tishrei it was finally granted: "I have pardoned, as you have requested."
From that moment on, this date, henceforth known as the Day of Atonement, is annually observed as a commemoration of our special relationship with G‑d, a relationship that is strong enough to survive any rocky bumps it might encounter. This is a day when we connect with the very essence of our being, which remains faithful to G‑d regardless of our outward behavior.
And while it is the most solemn day of the year, we are also joyful, confident that G‑d will forgive our sins and seal our verdict for a year of life, health, and happiness.
For nearly twenty-six hours – from several minutes before sunset on Tishrei 9 until after nightfall on Tishrei 10 – we "afflict our souls": we abstain from food and drink, do not wash or anoint our bodies, do not wear leather footwear, and abstain from spousal intimacy. We are likened to the angels, who have no physical needs. Instead of focusing on the physical, we spend much of our day in the synagogue, engaged in repentance and prayer.
It is also the day that in 1973 Egypt and Syria attacked Israel. This war is known as the Yom Kippur War. And although the Arabs claim victory for this war (they were able to shoot down 30 IAF planes destroy 300 Israeli tanks and advance 30 km into the Sinai, they were eventually routed and totally defeated by the IDF). But to the Arabs, being able to launch a surprise attack on the most holy day in Judaism is a great victory.
The question now we must ask ourselves is are we heading for another disaster like October 1973? And unfortunately the answer is YES. For once again Barack Hussein Obama has proven to the world that he would do anything, kill any people, to appease the Muslim world. Even killing all the Jews in Israel (and possibly the US) to do it.
A top official in the Obama Administration has at last admitted what intelligence agents and Israeli government officials have been warning about for years: Iran intends to build a nuclear arsenal.
In media interviews with American television news networks scheduled to air Sunday, Defense Secretary Robert Gates said bluntly, "The Iranians have the intention of having nuclear weapons."
The statement was made just days after the discovery of a covert uranian enrichment site in Iran.
Even as the world expressed its outrage, however, Gates pointed out that there was little left to be done about it. "The reality is there is no military option that does anything more than buy time," he told CNN. "The estimates are three years or so."
In a separate interview with ABC News, he noted that Iran had engaged in "a pattern of deception and lies... from the very beginning," even as it claimed it was developing nuclear power for peaceful domestic energy purposes.
"If this were a peaceful nuclear program, why didn't they announce this site when they began to construct it?" Gates asked. "Why didn't they allow IAEA inspectors in from the very beginning?"
During the 2008 campaign, then candidate Obama promised not to allow Iran to get nuclear weapons. Now he will not only allow them to, but is secretly working to help them. There is no other explanation for his actions in this matter. No one is that naive!
On this Yom Kippur I will be praying that Israel has the courage to wipe out Iran's nuclear program before the imbeciles do succeed.
He looks mild-mannered, not a man who would stand up to bullies and force them to back down. But Professor Indrek Wichman of Michagan State University, has become a Hero.
Now what would force this Professor of Mechanical Engineering to stand up for the First Amendment? Nothing less than a planned protest by the MSU chapter of the Muslim Students Union (MSU)
Members of the Muslim Student Association (MSA) at Michigan State University (MSU) didn’t know what they were getting into when they tried to suppress the free speech rights of Professor Indrek Wichman. On February 28, 2006 he read in the MSU student newspaper a call to protest the publication of the Muhammad cartoons. The article struck a raw nerve. He responded with the following:
Dear Moslem Association:
As a professor of Mechanical Engineering here at MSU I intend to protest your protest. I am offended not by cartoons, but by more mundane things like beheadings of civilians, cowardly attacks on public buildings, suicide murders, murders of Catholic priests (the latest in Turkey!), burnings of Christian churches, the continued persecution of Coptic Christians in Egypt, the imposition of Sharia law on non-Muslims, the rapes of Scandinavian girls and women (called "whores" in your culture), the murder of film directors in Holland, and the rioting and looting in Paris France.
This is what offends me, a soft-spoken person and academic, and many, many, many of my colleagues. I counsel you dissatisfied, aggressive, brutal, and uncivilized slave-trading Moslems to be very aware of this as you proceed with your infantile "protests."
If you do not like the values of the West--see the 1st Amendment--you are free to leave. I hope for God's sake that most of you choose that option. Please return to your ancestral homelands and build them up yourselves instead of troubling Americans.

Some may say this reaction was a tad over-heated. But in a university environment, the more important question is: Were the statements accurate? It’s tough to argue with the validity of Professor Wichman’s factual assertions. And even tougher to demand that Wichman remain morally neutral regarding the examples of Muslim misconduct he cites.
For over three weeks Professor Wichman heard nothing about his email. But behind the scenes, the MSA had called in CAIR and had three separate meetings with the MSU provost. The MSA and CAIR both demanded that Wichman be censured, disciplined, enrolled in diversity and sensitivity training, and even “re-educated” on Islam.
To his credit, the MSU Provost did not cave in to the CAIR/MSA demands. On March 20, 2006 he wrote Wichman a letter saying that he strongly disagreed with the “intemperate tone” of his email. But he added that Wichman still had rights to free speech. From there, things got worse.
The MSU Provost told Wichman that if he continued to “harass” and “intimidate” the MSU MSA - while creating a “hostile intellectual climate” - then formal charges consistent with MSU anti-discrimination policy (ADP) would be filed by MSU against him. (emphasis mine)
On April 24, 2006 Wichman realized that the issue had not quietly gone away. He began receiving telephone calls and emails from local newspapers, AP, Reuters and other national and international outlets. CAIR and MSA, frustrated by the MSU Provost, had gone over his head and published a response, organized a press conference, and made a national/international press release.
CAIR and MSA’s public call upon MSU to take “disciplinary action" against Wichman’s “Islamophobic” email was a classic example of Muslim cowardice. Michigan’s CAIR Executive Director Mr. Dawud Walid said it was “unconscionable for a professor to use his university e-mail account to foster a hostile learning environment for Muslim students.” He added, “The University needs to take appropriate disciplinary action in this case to demonstrate through its actions that anti-Muslim bigotry will not be tolerated on campus.”
It should be noted that Mr. Walid has gone to court to argue for applying Sharia law in mid-Michigan. That serves to undercut significantly his stature as an opponent of bigotry towards minorities.
I sat down for a beer - I believe it was a Danish beer – with Indrek Wichman in April. When he said he meant to “protest the protest” of the MSA he really meant it. He helped form a conservative faculty group at MSU. The group serves to protest speech codes, invite conservative speakers to campus, and represent students and faculty whose rights are trampled by the MSU administration.
Indrek Wichman is not your typical college professor. He is a true First Amendment hero.
Meanwhile, Dawud Walid is still fighting to repeal the First Amendment and keep Muslims from being offended. He wants to replace it with Sharia law so Muslims can freely beat their wives and publicly execute homosexuals.
How is it that Muslims can say the most hurtful, racially insensitive, anti-Semitic rhetoric on US campuses without the administrations of those schools saying a word no, yet one lone professor on a campus writes an e-mail in protest of the barbaric practices of Islam, he is vilified and crucified? The behavior of the MSU in regards to Free Speech and other rights is well documented on the net. One just has to read Fousesquawk by blogger Gary Fouse to see what is happening at UC Irvine.
And it is happening at every college and university in the US.
What the MSU & CAIR are trying to do is first to stiffle free speech, then to impose Shar'ia Law on the US. Their counterparts have been very successful in doing this in Europe and Great Britain. But unlike those lost lands, the US has the Free exercise of Speech firmly written into the US Constitution. And there are plenty of court cases backing the right of Free Speech.
Slowly, on campuses, faculity are speaking out against the MSU. They are challenging their claims, and forcing the 1st Amendment down their throats.
At least a small bit of it. Susan Atkins, murderer, died today in California.
Susan Atkins, who committed one of modern history's most notorious crimes when she joined Charles Manson and his gang for a 1969 killing spree that terrorized Los Angeles and put her in prison for the rest of her life, has died. She was 61.
Atkins died at the Central California Women's facility in Chowchilla on Thursday night, said Terry Thornton, spokeswoman for the state Department of Corrections and Rehabilitation.
Atkins, who had been receiving medical care at the prison's nursing facility over the past year, died of natural causes, Thornton said. Sources told The Times she had been battling brain cancer. She was pronounced dead at 11:46 p.m.
Susan Atkins should have considered herself very lucky. Originally she received the Death Penalty, and was scheduled to be put to death. In 1972 the California Supreme Court, followed by the US Supreme Court, struck down the Death Penalty and her sentence was commuted to Life in Prison.
Susan Atkins served 38 years of her life sentence and died in prison where she belonged.
Today Susan Atkins is now standing before the Ultimate Judge of us all. There is no appeal for His sentences. And the victims will once again be heard.
A Jordanian citizen in the U.S. illegally placed an inert "car bomb" at the base of a 60-story skyscraper in Dallas and was arrested today.

Hosan Maher Husein Smadi is 19 years old and according to the arrest warrant (available in pdf) publicly pledged his loyalty to Osama bin Laden and al-Qaeda, according to authorities. The arrest warrant states that three FBI agents worked undercover as members of an al-Qaeda "sleeper cell," and first made contact with Hosam Maher Husein Smadi through an "online group of extremists." In some 60 conversations with Smadi, both online and in person, he told the agents that he was in the U.S. (illegally) to "specifically" commit "Jihad for the sake of God."
On June 24th, Smadi discussed targeting military recruitment centers with undercover FBI agents. The agent who wrote the arrest affidavit said the idea was based on the Little Rock, Arkansas drive-by shooting murder of Pvt. William Long, and the wounding of Pvt. Quinton Ezeagwula. Pvt. Long's killer was Adbulhakim Mujahid Muhammad, who once-upon-a-time was simply Carlos Bledsoe of Memphis, TN. Muhammad had traveled to Yemen to train in Jihad. You'll remember this terrible murder. Muhammad tried to kill more than one, but fortunately failed. President Obama didn't mentioned Pvt. Long's death and his Attorney General, Eric Holder, was busy investigating the "right-wing radical" that killed an abortion doctor - actually sent out U.S. Marshals to protect abortion clinics. They caught the doctor's killer but seemed to have no concern about the targeting of military recruiters.

"I truly say it that my dream is to be among God's soldiers, first for the support of Islam and my beloved Sheik Usama [Osama bin Laden], may God give him long life. I don't know what is in me, but I love him as I love my father. I don't want to add to this.
Now my brother, the point is that thousands of Muslims have been killed in Gaza a the hand of Jews-the-dogs and the silent disloyal backsliders. Those are the Arab kings and, God willing, their end will be the hanging rope and hell.
Their silence and fight against the Sheik mean that they are backsliders along with the enemy in a world plan to destroy Islam, Muslims and to seize their lands for the benefit of the Jews and for the love of infidelity.
By God who created me, there will not be a retreat at all, even if they take me to Guantanamo for the rest of my life. I will never forget Iraq, Palestine, Afghanistan, or any land where the call of 'there is no God but God, Muhammad is God's Messenger' is raised.
In the named of God, the Gracious and the Merciful, this is my vow to you, my brother, that I am ready,” Smadi allegedly told undercover FBI agents. “And if you were a lover of Jihad as I am, then, by God, I am ready for the Jihadi life.
We shall attack them in their very own homes,” Smadi said, according to the affidavit. “Brother, by God, we shall attack them in a manner that hurts, an attack that shakes the world.”
The FBI agents, as they talked of planned attacks, tried to give Smadi an opportunity to back off of the plan, telling him if he had doubts, they "would depart now as friends and brother in Islam without any anger at all," and then said "In this case, you may perform Jihad in a less dangerous way, such as Jihad using your money or in training yourself to avoid sins, indignities, and desires."
Smadi was not interested in bowing out:
"...I shall expel the Jews from the land of holy Jerusalem....We shall destroy all the Romans and all the religion's enemies. I shall kill and behead the backslider operatives in the Levant and land of Muslims."
The Jordanian wanted to go after credit card companies to cripple America's economy. He said he would do it this way:
...so if a bomb is planted, for instance, in the car, timed or to detonate remotely...a very fast operation, smart and decisive."
Something went wrong for Smadi. He wasn't so "smart." Some reports say the bomb was an "inactive car bomb," and another says he "thought" what he put "at the base of Fountain Place" was a bomb:
The FBI says it "ensured the (car bomb) contained only an inert/inactive explosive device which contained no explosive materials."
When the FBI agents communicated with Hosam Maher Husein Smadi, they spoke in Arabic. All of the conversations were in Arabic. I'm thankful for these talented agents who are willing to sacrifice their lives, even with the possible threat of the Obama administration's Department of Justice criminal investigation looming.
Yesterday evening Ahmadinejad gave his yearly "Death to Israel" speech at the UN. Unlike previous years, this year some of the nations did walk out on him.
France on Wednesday led a walkout of a dozen delegations, including the United States, to protest a fiery speech by Iranian President Mahmoud Ahmadinejad to the UN General Assembly.
"It is disappointing that Mr Ahmadinejad has once again chosen to espouse hateful, offensive and anti-Semitic rhetoric," Mark Kornblau, spokesman to the US mission to the United Nations, said in a statement.
Delegations from Argentina, Australia, Britain, Costa Rica, Denmark, France Germany, Hungary, Italy, New Zealand and the United States left the room as Ahmadinejad began to rail against Israel, a European source said.
Israel had already called for a boycott of the speech, and was not present when the Iranian leader began his address. Canada had already said it would heed the boycott call.
Iran's sole Simorgh AWACS aircraft was lost during a military parade Sept. 22, one of two Iranian military aircraft that crashed in Tehran while participating in a display to mark the anniversary of the start of the 1980-88 Iran-Iraq War.
The Islamic Republic of Iran Air Force operated a single Simorgh, a former Iraqi Air Force Adnan. The Adnan AWACS was in turn a modification of a Soviet-built Ilyushin Il-76 transport.
The Simorgh collided with one of the Air Force's Northrop F-5E Tiger II fighters over the area of the Imam Khomeyni Shrine, southern Tehran. According to eyewitnesses, the crash occurred immediately after the parade. Apparently, no mayday call was issued.
Both aircraft crashed in flames. Initial reports indicate that seven crewmembers were killed in the crash.
In total, Iraq built three AWACS aircraft, one Baghdad, and two Baghdad-2s, the latter later renamed Adnans. One Adnan and the Baghdad were evacuated to Iran during the 1991 Gulf War, while the second Adnan was destroyed on the ground by a coalition air strike in January 1991.
The exact status of the Iranian Simorgh and its onboard systems was long uncertain. However, photographs suggest that the aircraft was equipped with a newly fitted functioning radar suite.

"Cash for Clunkers" was established in 2009 and went broke in 2009! It took cars (that were the best some people could afford) and replaced them with high-priced and less-affordable cars, mostly Japanese. A good percentage of the profits went out of the country. So with a perfect 100% failure rate and a record that proves that "services" you shove down our throats are failing faster and faster, you want Americans to believe you can be trusted with a government-run health care system?

Maggie was so excited to welcome Libyan strongman Moammar Khadafy and his all-women team of bodyguards, that she left him a present on the red carpet (below) outside Libyan Mission.
A politically incorrect pooch delivered a stream of consciousness protest Saturday as Libyan officials rolled out the red carpet for dictator Moammar Khadafy.
Maggie the dog was out for a walk when she responded to the pomp by taking a pee on the lush rug outside the Libyan Mission - a gesture appreciated by many New Yorkers with little use for the notorious colonel.
"The dog had excellent taste," said Mark Birnbaum, 57, a Mission neighbor who watched the whole thing. "She's a sweetheart."
Aggravated Libyan officials were forced to cut away a section of the carpet that stretched across the E. 48th St. sidewalk from the curbs to the steps.
Khadafy stirred up American anger in advance of his first U.S. trip by arm-twisting Scottish officials to win freedom for the Lockerbie bomber - and then giving the terrorist a hero's welcome in Libya.
There was more angst over his wish to stay in a Bedouin tent in Central Park or Englewood, N.J. Instead, the Libyan president - after considering the swanky Pierre Hotel - opted to stay at the Mission during the UN General Assembly.
The decision came after word of his Pierre plans were made public.
"Usually, if it gets out where a guy's staying, especially someone like Khadafy, he changes up," a police source said.
Embassy workers were spotted bringing in bubble-wrapped furniture ahead of Khadafy's visit.
When Khadafy arrives later this week, he'll be coming with a gang of fetching "gun girls."
The dictator's pistol-packin' posse of 40 to 50 women bodyguards - sometimes called his "Amazon Guard" - will be part of a massive 150-member traveling entourage for the UN General Assembly session, U.S. officials said.
Along with live weapons, the guards will bring their bad-girl reputation.
In 2003, the women - smartly outfitted in form-fitting desert camouflage uniforms and blue berets - caused a pushing-and-shoving ruckus when Khadafy got in a shouting match with Saudi Arabians at an Arab summit.
The bodyguards also formed a menacing circle around Khadafy in Rome last June after 900 Italian women unleashed a chorus of boos in response to his admonition not to drive without their husbands' permission.
Susan Rice, the U.S. ambassador to the UN, said Khadafy's security detail should not be a problem. "We deal with difficult heads of state all the time," Rice said of the supposedly reformed Khadafy, a former patron of terror groups from the Philippines to Belfast.
Other head-case leaders coming this week are Iran's Mahmoud Ahmadinejad and Venezuela's Hugo Chavez. Rice noted that Americans were irate over the release of Abdelbaset al-Megrahi, convicted in the Pan Am 103 bombing that killed 270 people in 1988.
"How President Khadafy chooses to comport himself has the potential either to further aggravate those feelings and emotions or not," she said.
I do hope that Maggie's owners will do the right thing and reward the sweet dog with treats and a big bone.
Perhaps when Khadafy does arrive, Maggie can show her displeasure once again and shower his leg.
Zbigniew Brzezinski, who enthusiastically campaigned for U.S. President Barack Obama, has called on the president to shoot down Israeli planes if they attack Iran. “They have to fly over our airspace in Iraq. Are we just going to sit there and watch?” said the former national security advisor to former U.S. President Jimmy Carter in an interview with the Daily Beast. Brzezinski, who served in the Carter administration from 1977 to 1981, is currently a professor of American foreign policy at Johns Hopkins University's School of Advanced International Studies in Maryland.
“We have to be serious about denying them that right,” he said. “If they fly over, you go up and confront them. They have the choice of turning back or not. No one wishes for this but it could be a 'Liberty' in reverse.’" Israel mistakenly attacked the American Liberty ship during the Six-Day War in 1967.
Brzezinski was a top candidate to become an official advisor to President Obama, but he was downgraded after Republican and pro-Israel Democratic charges during the campaign that Brzezinski’s anti-Israel attitude would damage Obama at the polls.
President Obama’s advisors have emphasized that the former national security advisor is not playing any unofficial role as advisor to the White House.
His enthusiasm for President Obama has waned in the past several months. He recently told a London-based newspaper that the United States may be "sliding into a deeper conflict with various segments of the world of Islam.” because of the president’s failure to carry out his promises to the Muslim world.
Brzezinski said the Obama administration is "diddling around" in trying to reach an “evasive compromise” between Israel and the Arab world.
What promises did Barack Obama make to the Muslim world that would make them love us? Could it be that he promised to destroy Israel? That has been the cry from Carter, Brezezinski, Powers, Wright, Ayers, Jackson, Sharpton, and the majority of people moonbats on the left.
Perhaps that is the reason that Obama welcomes Iranian nukes?
Or is it just that like the majority of African-Americans he just hates all Jewish people and want to finish the job that his idol Adolph Hitler started.
I expect that Obama will follow this course of action. It is a shame that the US will not support the only democracy in the Middle East, and instead will try to throw Israel under the bus.
The 25 of Elul is the traditional day of the beginning of Creation, as recorded in the first chapter of Genesis. While other religions start their calendar from the founding of the religion, the Jewish calendar begins with Creation. In Jewish consciousness, every nation is integral to humanity: Non-Jews were welcome to bring offerings to the Holy Temple in Jerusalem, which the prophet Isaiah referred to as the "house for all nations."
Technically, the Jewish calendar does not begin until day six of Creation (Rosh Hashana), which commemorates the birth of mankind. This is because human beings are the pinnacle of Creation, enjoined to protect the world and to utilize all its resources to bring the world to its spiritual completion.

I am usually critical and skeptical of the messages that President Obama sends to various groups on their holidays. This is no exception. While it is a thoughtful message, I am wondering what "October Surprise" will accompany it when he proposes his "Middle East Solution". President Obama: Warm Wishes for Rosh Hashanah
As members of the Jewish faith here in America and around the world gather to celebrate the High Holidays, I want to extend my warmest wishes for this New Year. L’Shanah Tovah Tikatevu – may you have a good year, and may you be inscribed for blessing in the Book of Life.
Rosh Hashanah marks the start of a new year – a time of humble prayer, joyful celebration, and hope for a new beginning. Ten days later, Yom Kippur stands as a day of reflection and repentance. And this sacred time provides not just an opportunity for individual renewal and reconciliation, but for families, communities and even nations to heal old divisions, seek new understandings, and come together to build a better world for our children and grandchildren.
At the dawn of this New Year, let us rededicate ourselves to that work. Let us reject the impulse to harden ourselves to others’ suffering, and instead make a habit of empathy – of recognizing ourselves in each other and extending our compassion to those in need.
Let us resist prejudice, intolerance, and indifference in whatever forms they may take -- let us stand up strongly to the scourge of anti-Semitism, which is still prevalent in far too many corners of our world.
Let us work to extend the rights and freedoms so many of us enjoy to all the world’s citizens – to speak and worship freely; to live free from violence and oppression; to make of our lives what we will.
And let us work to achieve lasting peace and security for the state of Israel, so that the Jewish state is fully accepted by its neighbors, and its children can live their dreams free from fear. Although I didn't agree with her politics, I did enjoy the music she gave the world. And a lovely voice and woman has parted from us.
Mary Travers of 1960s folk trio Peter, Paul and Mary, has died, according to her publicist. She was 72.
Travers died from side effects of treatment from a bone-marrow transplant after battling leukemia, publicist Heather Lylis said.
The singer was born in Louisville, Kentucky, in November 1936 and grew up in New York's Greenwich Village. As a teenager, she performed in a Broadway review, but stepped on to the folk music scene in the 1950s. She emerged as an iconic folk singer while performing with Peter Yarrow and Noel Paul.
Peter, Paul and Mary came together while singing "Mary Had a Little Lamb" in Noel Paul's New York City apartment. They went on to play gigs at coffee houses and later on the radio.
"As a performer, her charisma was a barely contained nervous energy -- occasionally (and then only privately) revealed as stage fright," Paul said.
Their music reflected the 1960s and the 1970s, a time of turmoil as the civil rights and anti-war movements moved into full swing.
Travers applied her recognition to rally behind those progressive movements. In 1963, the trio performed its hit song "If I Had a Hammer" at the Washington march where Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. delivered his famed "I Have a Dream Speech," her publicist said.
"We've learned that it will take more than one generation to bring about change," Travers once said. "The fight for civil rights has developed into a broader concern for human rights, and that encompasses a great many people and countries. Those of us who live in a democracy have a responsibility to be the voice for those whose voices are stilled."
Travers advocated against U.S. government moves in Central America in the 1980s. She went on a mission to El Salvador and later spoke out against the country's regime. She also opposed American funding of a militant group in Nicaragua set on overthrowing an elected government there, according to her publicist.
Peter, Paul and Mary recorded hits still recognized now, including "Leaving on a Jet Plane," "Puff the Magic Dragon" and "Where Have All the Flowers Gone." They performed together for nearly 50 years, winning five Grammys and releasing 13 Top 40 hits, six of them in the Top 10 charts.
Their debut album, "Peter, Paul and Mary" was on the Top 10 chart for 10 months. Travers also recorded four solo albums in the 1970s.
Their last performance was in New Brunswick, New Jersey, on May 20.
Those closest to Travers say she valued her friendships.
"Perhaps the most remarkable aspect of my relationship with Mary Travers over the last almost 50 years is how open and honest we were with each other, and I include Noel Paul Stookey in this equation," Yarrow said in a statement.
"Such honesty comes with a price, but when you get past the hurt and shock of realizing that you're faulted and frequently wrong, you also realize that you are really loved and respected for who you are, and you become a better person."
She is survived by her husband, Ethan Robbins; her daughters Alicia and Erika; her sister, Ann Gordon; and her granddaughters Wylie and Virginia.
She was an icon of the 60's and the anti-war movement. But her voice was sweet to listen to, and unlike many in the music business, she was an honest, forthright person.
Those of us outside of Texas don't know and never heard of Michael Williams. This is from his campaign website:
Michael Williams is a Commissioner on the Railroad Commission of Texas, which regulates the oil and gas industry. It is the state’s oldest regulatory agency. Elected statewide three times, he was elected to complete an unexpired term in November 2000. In November 2002 and 2008, they re-elected him to full six-year terms. He was initially appointed to the Commission by then-Governor George W. Bush in December 1998 to fill a vacant seat. Williams served as Chairman of the Commission from September 1999 to September 2003 and again from July 2007 to February 2009. Williams also serves as the Railroad Commission’s “point person” for the agency’s regulatory reform and technology modernization efforts.
The son of public school teachers who earned degrees in math and the husband of a mechanical engineer, Michael is the creator and co-sponsor of the “Winnovators,” a summer camp for 6th through 12th graders to inspire the next generation of scientists, technologists, engineers and mathematicians.
An advocate of alternative energy, Williams is championing the conversion of Texas public and private fleets, especially school buses, from diesel and gasoline to environmentally cleaner, cheaper and domestically produced natural gas and propane through his “Breathe Easy” initiative.
A devout conservative, Michael helped get out the vote for Republicans as Chairman of Texas Victory 2004 and 2006, has served as Convention Chairman and Platform Committee Chairman at Republican Party of Texas’ State Conventions and was one of the original board members of the Texas Christian Coalition. He is also a life time member of the National Rifle Association.
He also had the pleasure to serve as an adjunct professor at Texas Southern University in the School of Public Affairs and Texas Wesleyan School of Law.
In 1990, President George H. W. Bush appointed Williams to be Assistant Secretary of Education for Civil Rights at the U.S. Department of Education, a position previously held by U.S. Supreme Court Justice Clarence Thomas.
Former President Bush previously appointed Williams as Deputy Assistant Secretary for Law Enforcement at the U.S. Department of the Treasury. He had policy oversight responsibility for the Federal Law Enforcement Training Center, the U.S. Secret Service, the U.S. Customs Service, the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco and Firearms and the Financial Crimes Enforcement Network. Williams also served in the Department of Justice as Special Assistant to Attorney General Richard Thornburgh.
Williams served as a prosecutor in the Department of Justice under President Ronald Reagan. In 1988, he was awarded the Attorney General’s “Special Achievement Award” for the conviction of six Ku Klux Klan members on stolen military weapons charges. Early in his career, he was an assistant district attorney in his hometown of Midland, Texas.
Williams is a proud alumnus of the University of Southern California where he holds a bachelor’s, a master’s and a law degree.
He is a member of Most Blessed Sacrament Catholic Church in Arlington, Texas. He and his best friend, Donna, celebrate 24 years of marriage.
Definitely not a man you can pin the term "Racist" on, but there are those who will try. He recently issued a statement condemning Jimmy Carter's use of that term. This is it:
“I have immense respect for President Carter, but I fundamentally disagree with the notion that opponents of President Obama’s immense spending proposals are motivated by race. As a black man from the South, I take exception to the notion that my opposition – or the opposition of millions of Americans to the president’s healthcare proposal – is rooted in racial politics. It is a sad day when genuine disagreement is smeared by such an incendiary characterization. I oppose the president’s plan because it will explode the deficit, allow further government intrusion into the doctor-patient relationship, and continue to insulate healthcare consumers from the true cost of their care.
“America has come a long way on the issue of race, so much so that we elected the first black president in the history of our country. The president’s supporters seem to want to denigrate the motives of the opposition so they don’t have to actually engage in a debate about reforms that will forever change the direction of this country.
“It is no coincidence as the liberals continue to lose public support for a budget-busting healthcare plan that they have begun a seemingly orchestrated effort to change the subject from the content of the reforms to the character of their opposition. From the former president of the United States, to the opinion pages of the New York Times, a new ugliness has permeated our discourse. I say to them that I can disagree with my president based on the politics of ideas rather than the politics of identity.
“Americans who have honest concerns about increasing government control of healthcare, and the overall direction of this nation, deserve answers instead of scorn, respect instead of reviling accusations of racism. If this president is going to change the tone in Washington, he better first change the tactics of his supporters.”
I wish he was running here in Illinois. I would welcome him as MY Senator. Alas, it is the people of Texas who just might have that privilege (lucky them).
I expect the left will start calling him an "Uncle Tom", just their way of stifling dissent in this country.
