It's Only Been a Week

A Confession

A week ago I started Monkey in the Middle. But the idea for this blog has been running around my head for a year now.

What was I thinking? I have no HTML skills, no knowledge of how to download or upload things unto the web. I only have a voice and the knowledge of years of experience.

I thought on this day, I would tell you how I came to this place.

2 years ago I was, now don't faint, a registered Democrat. To me it was the party of Roosevelt, Truman, Kennedy and Johnson. It was the party of the working man and woman. I was a proud Democrat, but didn't always follow the party line. I voted my conscience. Not just once, but every time. I voted for McGovern instead of Nixon, Ford instead of Carter, Reagan instead of Carter, Reagan instead of Mondale, but voted for Mondale over George Bush, Clinton over Bush then Dole.

I have never been a supporter of G.W. Bush. I didn't think he was the best man for the job. I'm sure that he is a nice enough fellow, but was not the right man for the job. I still believe that.

When we liberated Iraq, he should have listened to his military and sent enough troops to do the job right. When we started to nation build he should have sent the best people for the job, not the one's who agreed with him politically. If he had done this, Iraq would not be in the condition it is today, this is what it would have looked like back in 2003 not today. But we cannot turn back the clock, and have to look and act toward the future.

But I digress. 2 years ago the Democrats took control over the Congress. The previous Congress was a do nothing, say nothing, help nobody Congress. I had hope that the Democrats would be better. But Nancy Pelosi is no Tip O'Neil. The left-wing of the party had taken hold of the party and the Congress. Actions by the leftists groups such as: Code Pink (Code Pinko to me) have angered not only myself, but even my ultra-left, Obama voting son-in-law to be. And now that anti-Semite Carter met with Hamas and stating on CNN that he had been in contact with Hamas since 1996. And that he was upset that the Israelis wouldn't give in to Hamas' demands. What he is really upset with is that he couldn't go to Gaza and lob a few rockets into Israel himself.

I left the Democratic Party 2 years ago and became an Independent voter. Actually that is not true. I didn't leave the Democratic Party, they left me. They left me and the ideals that their party was founded on a long time ago. It has taken me a long time to break with them.

And you know something. It feels good!

WE NEED A CONGRESS WHO IS FOR THE PEOPLE, FOR AMERICA, NOT FOR PROTECTING THEIR LIFETIME POSITIONS IN WASHINGTON. CONGRESS SHOULD BE BRAVE AND BOLD AND NOT AFRAID TO DO THE RIGHT THING. WE HAVE NO NEED TO HAVE A SOCIALIST PARTY HERE, YET ONE GROWS STRONGER EACH DAY. CONGRESS SHOULD NOT HATE AMERICAN LIKE MANY OF THEM DO, THEY SHOULD NOT COMMIT TREASON LIKE PELOSI DID. BOTH PARTIES ARE A SHAME AND SHOULD BE ASHAMED FOR PUTTING AMERICA AND US LAST AND THEM FIRST. IN MHO

Thank you Woman and Bubba. I try my best. Life is a great journey, you never know where the road is going to take you. Sometimes it's bumpy, but most of the time it's a joy.

Good on ya.

"I didn't leave the Democratic Party, they left me. They left me and the ideals that their party was founded on a long time ago."

Very true, shame on them for that.
