Saturday Morning Funnies #23

With trouble in Washington over the Debt Ceiling, a little bit of levity and humor is definitely in order.  Hang on, here we go:

WALL STREET SHENANIGANS! (Debt Ceiling)

Poor President Obama.  He has maxed out the nation and Congress won't raise his limit.

Sharia poster boy

The Obama Doctrine is working very well.  Iran is acquiring Nuclear Weapons, spent billions bombing Libya and Qadaffy is still in power, and the Israelis are getting ready to thumb their noses at him.  Great policy.

Kosher Computers

From Bob Markman
What you can't get from a Kosher computer...
You can now purchase Kosher computers. They are made in Israel by a company called DELL-SHALOM. The price is so low, even with the shipping from Israel.

However, before you purchase a kosher computer of your own, you should know that there are some important changes from the typical non-kosher computer you are used to, such as:

1) The “Start” button has been replaced with the “Let's go - I'm not getting any younger!” button.

2) You hear “Hava Nagila” during startup.

3) The cursor moves from right to left.

4) When Spell-checker finds an error it prompts, “Is this the best you can do?”

5) When you look at erotic images, your computer says, “If your mother knew you did this, she would die.”

6) It comes with a “monitor cleaning solution” from Manischewitz that advertises it gets rid of all the “schmutz und drek.”

7) When running “Scan Disk” it prompts you with a “You want I should fix this?” message.

8) After 20 minutes of no activity, your PC goes “Schloffen.”

9) The PC shuts down automatically at sundown on Friday evenings.

10) It comes with two hard drives - one for fleyshedik (business software) and one for milchedik (games).

11) Instead of getting a “General Protection Fault” error, your PC now gets “Ferklempt.”

12) The multimedia player has been renamed to “Nu, so play my music already!” corner.

14) When your PC is working too hard, you occasionally hear a loud “Oy Gevalt!”

15) Computer viruses can now be cured with matzo ball soup.

16) When disconnecting external devices from the back of my PC, you are instructed to “Remove the cable from the PC's tuchus.”

17) After your computer dies, you have to dispose of it within 24 hours.

18) But best of all, if you have a kosher computer, you can't get SPAM!

Anti-Semites In San Francisco Thwarted For Now

Thus is the Law of Moses and it seems the Law in San Francisco.  So says Judge Loretta Giorgi.
San Francisco Superior Court Judge Loretta Giorgi on Wednesday issued a tentative ruling saying the proposed ballot measure to ban circumcision in the city must be withdrawn, calling it "expressly preempted" by state law.

Lloyd Schofield, 59 year old anti-circumcision activist, was determined to have male circumcision banned by legislation in San Francisco. For starters, he gathered 12,000 signatures, while ony 7,168 are required for the city of 750,000 by the city’s Department of Elections, for his proposal to be placed on the ballet in the November 8th San Francisco elections .

The measure, which would only apply in San Francisco, was intended make it a crime to circumcise a minor, regardless of the parents' religious beliefs. The maximum penalty would be a year in jail and a $1,000 fine.

The ban’s campaign material included anti-Semitic comic books depicting a Jewish mohel, or circumcision practitioner, as the sinister villain "Foreskin Man", in the inimitable style of the Protocol of the Elders of Zion and the Nazi Der Sturmer.

According to the Associated Press the plaintiffs of record in the lawsuit filed against the measure included five Jews, three Muslims, two doctors who regularly perform the procedure, the local chapter of the Jewish Community Relations Council and the national Anti-Defamation League (ADL).

Volunteers have been working at debunking the misconceptions about circumcision, citing medical and freedom of religion issues.

Judge Giorgi put the controversy on hold by stating on Wednesday that the California Business and Professions Code prohibits local regulation of medical procedures.

She added that it "serves no legitimate purpose" for an illegal measure to remain on the ballot and ordered elections Chief John Arntz to remove it. According to Arntz, after Sept. 1 it will be difficult to remove the proposal from the ballots because they go to the printers. Ideally, the judge will have issued a ruling by that date, stopping the proposal in its tracks.

If the law is on the ballot and passes, it will run up against an overriding state and/or federal law, so there is no chance of the circumcision restrictions ever taking effect.

Abby Porth, associate director of the Jewish Community Relations Council, said she's delighted the "extreme and hurtful" measure might not even appear before voters.

"The idea we would put doctors in jail for performing a procedure with known health benefits that parents request for their children is outrageous," she said.

“Even if it made the ballot, we don’t believe it would have passed,” Porth said.

So far the courts have stopped this travesty of the legal system from being pushed forward.  But the anti-Semites have stated that they will appeal.  And there is the 9th Circuit Court of Appeals.  A court notorious for their extreme liberal views.  Until then, this obscene law will not be on the ballot, will be dead on arrival.

Problem Killing Other Muslims...

...But No Problem Killing Other US Soldiers

That is what we have discovered to our horror today when Pvt. Nasser Jason Abdo (Who was granted Conscientious Objector Status in June 2011) has been planning to kill his fellow soldiers at Fort Hood, Texas.
At least one U.S. military serviceman has been arrested after raising concerns over another alleged plot to attack Fort Hood, Fox News has learned exclusively.

Pvt. Nasser Jason Abdo, an AWOL soldier from Fort Campbell, Kentucky, was arrested by the Killeen Police Department near Fort Hood and remains in custody there. Authorities, however, will not say if Abdo is the one who raised security concerns.

Abdo was allegedly found with weapons and explosives at the time of his arrest, a senior Army source confirms to Fox News. He was arrested at around 2 p.m. Wednesday after someone called authorities to report a suspicious individual.

Bob Jenkins, a Fort Campbell spokesman, told Fox News that Abdo was also being investigated for child pornography found on his government computer.

Abdo went AWOL on July 4. On the eve of his first deployment to Afghanistan -- after only one year in the Army -- Abdo applied for conscientious objector status. It was denied by his superiors at Ft. Campbell but later overturned by the Assistant Deputy Secretary of the Army review board.

"We are aware at this time that Killeen Police Department arrested a soldier yesterday,"

Another source told Fox News that two other U.S. soldiers also raised possible concerns.

It remains unclear if any possible second plot to attack Ft. Hood was merely aspirational in nature.

"We are aware at this time that Killeen Police Department arrested a soldier yesterday," a Fort Hood official said in a statement Thursday. "The incident leading to the arrest did not occur on Fort Hood and the soldier was not a Fort Hood based soldier. At this time, there has been no incident at Fort Hood. We continue our diligence in keeping our force protection at appropriate levels."

On Nov. 5, 2009, Major Nidal Hasan, an American Army officer, carried out a shooting attack on the Fort Hood base in Texas that killed 13 people and wounded 30 others.

Hasan, a military psychiatrist, was arraigned on July 20 and is currently standing trial. His civilian lawyer withdrew from the case as it began.

Abdo went AWOL after being charged with the possession of child pornography:
LOUISVILLE, Ky. (AP) -

The Army says a Muslim soldier from Fort Campbell who won conscientious objector status but then was charged with possessing child pornography has gone AWOL.

Spokesman Rick Rzepka said Wednesday that Pfc. Naser Abdo has been absent without leave since the July 4th weekend.

Abdo, a 21-year-old infantry soldier, had applied for conscientious objector status last year saying his Muslim beliefs prohibited his service in any war.

Army officials recommended he be discharged as a conscientious objector but that was delayed by the criminal charge. Rzepka said a hearing last month recommended Abdo face a court-martial on the pornography charge.

Abdo's attorney James Branum said his client is safe but declined to say more about his status.

Abdo now also faces additional charges related to being AWOL.

Source
Unlike Nidal Hasan, Abdo isn't working alone.  He was discovered with weapons and explosives.  Other are involved and are being investigated.  If Abdo had been able to get onto Fort Hood with his explosives, his weapons, he could have done a massacre on base that would been more destructive and with more casualties than the horror that Nidal Hasan did.

It would have happened but for an alert citizen.

Prohibiting Religion

Will someone please explain to me what President Barack Hussein Obama and the members of his regime have against G-d?  To be exact the mention of G-d.  His Excellency, The President removed The Creator from the Declaration of Independence.  I guess he thought he could do one better than Thomas Jefferson.  And he really made history when he became the first US President to Omit G-d from the traditional Thanksgiving Proclamation.  Who the heck was he being Thankful to on that day?  Himself?  From the way he behaves I do believe that he believes he is G-d, or at least the Messiah.  I am assured that he is neither.

The fruit doesn't fall far from the tree, and his minions are following his Glorious example:
A Texas lawmaker is calling for a congressional investigation of the Houston National Cemetery after he went undercover and determined that cemetery officials are still preventing Christian prayers at the funerals of military veterans.

“The Obama administration continues to try to prevent the word ‘God’ from being used at the funerals of our heroes,” said. Rep. John Culberson (R-Texas).

“It’s unacceptable and I’m going to put a stop to it as fast as humanly possible,” Culberson told Fox News Radio. He attended a burial service at the cemetery undercover on July 8, when he says he witnessed volunteer members of the honor guard from the Veterans of Foreign Wars being prohibited from using any references to God.

“The Obama administration had told the nation and me they were not interfering with the prayer said over the graves of veterans,” he said. “And I went undercover to personally verify that claim.” VA officials have strongly denied they’ve banned any religious speech – and have offered support for Arleen Ocasio, the cemetery’s director.

“The idea that invoking the name of God or Jesus is banned at VA national cemeteries is blatantly false,” said VA Press Secretary Josh Taylor in a written statement to Fox News Radio. “The truth is, VA’s policy protects veterans’ families’ rights to pray however they choose at our national cemeteries.”

Taylor declined to comment on the pending lawsuit or other ongoing legal proceedings, but did say, “No one should make judgments before all the facts are known.” Culberson said the commander of the honor guard was told by cemetery officials to approach a grieving widow to reconfirm that she wanted the word God mentioned at her husband’s graveside service.

“He quite correctly said as a Texan and a man of honor and integrity, ‘I’m not bothering that poor woman at this most terrible time of her life. We’re going to do the ritual,’” Culberson said. “Right in front of me, the VA directly and deliberately attempted to prevent the VFW from doing their magnificent, spiritual ritual over the grave of this fallen hero."

The cemetery is already the focus of a lawsuit filed on behalf of the VFW, an American Legion post and Houston’s National Memorial Ladies. They claim the VA banned members of the organizations from using the words “God” or “Jesus” at burial services.

They also allege they were banned from reciting prayers or using religious language during services unless families approved the text in advance. Culberson, who oversees the sub-committee responsible for funding the cemetery, said that he wants the cemetery director fired – and he’s willing to do whatever possible to make sure that happens.

“The cemetery director has to leave,” he said. “I will zero out her salary. If she attempts to work for the VA anywhere in the state of Texas her salary will be zero.”

“It makes my skin crawl that liberals are attempting to drive prayer out of a funeral ceremony for our heroes,” Culberson said. “We’re going to fix this so that no Obama liberal bureaucrat will interfere with the funeral of a hero.”

But Taylor said the rules set in place at the cemetery are meant to protect the grieving families.

“Put simply, VA policy puts the wishes of the veteran’s family above all else on the day it matters most – the day they pay their final respects to their loved ones,” Taylor said. "Out of respect for the families, VA’s policy exists to prevent anyone from disrespecting or interfering with a veteran’s private committal service.”

Controversy first surfaced nationally at the cemetery during a Memorial Day event when a Houston pastor was ordered by the VA to remove the name of Jesus from his prayer.

Culberson said he hopes to hold hearings on the cemetery in the fall.

“They will bury 10 to 20 American heroes today and the Obama administration is preventing prayers from being said over their gravesites – today, ” Culberson said.
I have been to numerous funerals at Veterans Cemeteries, and not once has the grieving family every asked a person or group not to pray or mention G-d.  It is true that non-Christian families will ask that Jesus not be mentioned.  But never once has a family not received the condolences and prayers of others for their loved one without a bit of gratitude.

There is something obscene about telling people not to pray at a cemetery, a funeral, or to mention G-d when giving a grieving family your condolences.  I wonder if it is only Christians who are being discriminated in this manner or does this ban extend to Jews, Hindus, Buddhists, and Muslims?  This ban, concocted by a low-level bureaucrat of the lowest order, is just one step of many to eliminate G-d or any mention of the Creator from this country.  If it is not stopped now, if the Godless Progressives can make this ban stick, then the right of those of us who believe and worship will eventually be eliminated and our faiths will be driven underground.

Book of Obama: Chapter 13

His Excellency, The Most High, Master of the Nation, President Barack Hussein Obama (May He Reign Forever) spoke to the peons of the population.  None of this problem is MY fault, the Great One exclaimed.

"I blame Bush! He spent $1 Trillion in 8 years. And there was the Recession. We had to spend, spend, spend to Save the Nation. It is the fault of the Republicans. Those nasty TEA Partiers. It is the fault of everyone else. I am your King. Nothing is MY fault. It never is.

We need to make the rich give up their money. The Corporate CEOs with private jets need to give all their money to ME. The Billionaires and Millionaires have too much money, I need it more.  I need much more.

Although I am Omnipotent, I need your help.  If I don't get the debt ceiling raised, the world will come to an end.  The elderly will be forced to eat cat food.   The military will not be paid.  Veterans will starve while being thrown on the street. All this because the evil Republicans with their allies the rich fat cats, will not do as I order them to.

Every President for many years has gotten what I demand.  The Great Reagan spoke thus:
"Would you rather reduce deficits and interest rates by raising revenue from those who are not now paying their fair share, or would you rather accept larger budget deficits, higher interest rates, and higher unemployment? And I think I know your answer."
And yet these evil men will thwart MY plans, MY desires, what I want.  It is very simple.  Without this ceiling raise, we will DEFAULT on our debt.  The nation will be destroyed.  It will not be MY fault!  We have only a week.  I need you to call Congress and demand that they raise the ceiling.  Raise it enough so that We don't have to do this until after November 2012 (So I don't have to bring this up again until I am reelected!). Only you, the Middle Class, the Poor need to do this.  Together We can defeat the rich, the ignorant, the Republicans.

Thank you MY subjects.  I bless you!"
He has refused to pass other Laws for the accommodation of large districts of people, unless those people would relinquish the right of Representation in the Legislature, a right inestimable to them and formidable to tyrants only.
-----Thomas Jefferson, Declaration of Independence
Thus the Anointed One spoke to the people.  And they would have listened to Him but for the voice of the House Speaker, Boehner of Tears.  He spoke quietly, passionately, and with a firm voice.  His words bespoke of the truth and the people listened:
"I am not a fat cat, I was just a small business owner before I came to Congress.  I am one of you, the Middle Class, the people who find all of this too complicated to understand.  But it isn't too complicated.  It is as easy as your own home budget.

The President wants us to raise the debt ceiling for the next 18 months. This is so He will not have to face this problem during an election. The President swears that if we don't raise the ceiling the nation will end. We will default on our debts, the old will starve, the military will not be paid and veterans will be homeless. This is a lie. None of this will happen. What will happen is that for the first time the nation will have to live within our means. We will have to cut spending. We will have to trim the fat.

The President refuses to cut the fat, the port, the earmarks. We had a deal, but the President threatened to veto it. We have another deal, but it forces the President to cut spending, and will only raise the debt ceiling for 6 months.

The President is acting childish. He is carrying on a temper tantrum: "Do it my way or face the consequences!" The President can quote Ronald Reagan, but he will never be Ronald Reagan. Nor does he understand what Reagan stood for.

We will call his bluff. The President will be taught the lesson of the Constitutionality of this issue. He will be denied. He believes to be our King. But he forgets. We are Americans! WE HAVE AND WILL HAVE NO KINGS!!!!
And with that, the American people awoke to the truth of the argument.  The did call the Congress telling them to stand firm, don't give in to Obama's demands.  If we can stop him now, he will be destroyed. And they remembered this:
In every stage of these Oppressions We have Petitioned for Redress in the most humble terms: Our repeated Petitions have been answered only by repeated injury.

A Prince whose character is thus marked by every act which may define a Tyrant, is unfit to be the ruler of a free people.

---Thomas Jefferson, The Declaration of Independence

Yes President Obama has become a Tyrant.  It is time to take down the tyrant.  Call your Congressman or woman.  E-mail him or her.  Let them remember what happened in 2010.  You put them into Congress and you can take them out.  Time is running out. the nation and our freedoms are at risk.  It is time to stop the Tax and Spend culture of the Presidents and Democrats now.

There can be no joy, no Funnies on this Sabbath.  Not when so many in Norway have been murdered.  And even though there is to be no mourning on the Sabbath, it is in bad taste not to mourn.

31 Foregone Facts Barack Obama Fans Should Ponder!

Hat tip to Texas Fred

Texas Fred posted this yesterday.  Written by Kevin A. Lehmannit tells the truth about Obama and his "behavior".
1. If a previous president had doubled the national debt which had taken more than two centuries to accumulate, in just one year, would you have approved?

2. If a previous president had then proposed to double the debt again within 10 years, would you have approved?

3. If a previous president would have spent nearly a trillion dollars in stimulus and guaranteed unemployment would not exceed 8%, would you have called him a liar?

4. If a previous president would have played golf for thirteen weekends in a row leaving it up to congressional leaders to deal with the greatest financial crisis since the great depression, would you have considered him disengaged and out of touch?

5. If a previous president had criticized a state law that he admitted to never even reading, would you have thought him an ignoramus?

6. If a previous president had passed an unconstitutional law that would have absorbed 1/6th of the America’s entire GDP, forced Americans to purchase a private product (in violation of the commerce clause), fined them if they didn’t, hired 16,000 new IRS agents to enforce it, and exempted 1400 organizations from having to abide by that new law, would you have thought him a mafia boss?

7. If a previous president joined the country of Mexico and sued a state in America to force that state to continue to allow illegal immigration, would you have questioned his patriotism and priorities and wonder who his allegiance was to?

8. If a previous president had pronounced Army Corpsman like you pronounce a dead corpse, would you have thought he was stupid?

9. If a previous president had put 87,000 people out of work by arbitrarily placing a moratorium on offshore oil drilling on companies that have one of the best safety records because one foreign company had an accident, would you have agreed?

10. If a previous president had used a forged document as the basis of the moratorium that would render 87,000 American workers unemployed would you have supported him?

11. If a previous president had been the first president to need a teleprompter to get through a press conference, would you have thought this is more proof of how inept he is on his own and that he’s really controlled by smarter people behind the scenes?

12. If a previous president had spent hundreds of thousands of dollars to take his wife to a play in NYC, would you have approved?

13. If a previous president had reduced your retirement plan holdings of GM stock by 90%, given the unions a majority stake in the car maker and shut down 789 perfectly profitable Chrysler dealerships because they were were owned by registered republicans, would you have approved?

14. If a previous president had made a joke at the expense of the Special Olympics, would you have approved?

15. If a previous president had given Gordon Brown a set of inexpensive and incorrectly formatted DVDs when Gordon Brown gave him a thoughtful and historically significant gift, would you have approved?

STS-135

On July 20, 1969 10:56 PM EDT, Neil Armstrong and Edwin "Buzz" Aldrin Jr. landed on the Moon.  The fulfillment of a commitment to human space travel by President John F. Kennedy:
For the eyes of the world now look into space, to the Moon and the Planets beyond.

We Choose to go the Moon in this decade and do the other things. Not because they are easy, but because they are hard. Because that challenge is one we are willing to accept. One we are unwilling to postpone and one we intend to win.
John F. Kennedy 12 September 1962 Rice University

It has been 42 years since the first Moon landing and 49 years since President Kennedy spoke those moving words.  Yet recently President Barack Hussein Obama not only cancelled the Constellation program, scrubbing the US return to the Moon and then Mars.  And has saddled the US with an enormous cost to send our astronauts to the International Space Station (ISS).  The Russians will do it for $50 million dollars each astronaut.

President Obama claims that his plan will create jobs.  He is right.  Jobs for Russians, not Americans as the people of NASA will be downsizing and 1/3 of the NASA work force will be out of work tomorrow.

Ironic isn't it.  When President Obama first took office he was compared to John Kennedy as the second coming of JFK.  I can now paraphrase Lloyd Bentsen with accuracy:
Mr. President, you're no Jack Kennedy!
Indeed not!  Leadership is not his forte.  He has no idea what it is to inspire an nation, to unite a nation, to make us dream.

I was going to make this post one that would look back on the last 30 years of the shuttle program.  Instead I have changed this into a harangue against Obama's NASA policy.  The typical Progressive policy of destroying those programs that don't give funds directly to his cronies (SEIU).

I will leave you with this last landing ever of the Shuttle:

As the Space Shuttle has pulled into port for the last time, an era has come to an end.

When will America send her best and bravest back into space?  How long will it take?

Hang That Flag On High!

The sight of Old Glory does many things to people.  It causes a swelling of pride in one's chest.  It can bring a tear to one's eye.  It will cause a Moonbat liberal to vote Republican.
Just a glimpse at the American flag can sway voters, even Democrats, toward more Republican voting behavior, attitudes and beliefs, a new two-year study says.

The authors, from the University of Chicago, Cornell University and Hebrew University, say the research proves the American flag has a powerful effect on voters.

"A single exposure to an American flag resulted in a significant increase in participants' Republican voting intentions, voting behavior, political beliefs, and implicit and explicit attitudes, with some effects lasting eight months," reads the study titled, "Long-Term Effects of U.S. Flag Exposure on Republicanism."

"These results constitute the first evidence that nonconscious priming effects from exposure to a national flag can bias the citizenry toward one political party and can have considerable durability," the study says.

In the study, first reported on by "U.S. News and World Report," participants, mostly Democratic-leaning, were asked to fill out a survey about their opinions on Democratic and Republican parties, leaders and their voting intentions. Half of the surveys contained a small American flag in the top left corner. They were given out just before the 2008 presidential election.

Although 90 percent of participants said they wouldn't be influenced by the presence of a flag, the scholars found that the participants exposed to the flag had a bias toward the Republican Party and shifted their behaviors toward the Republican end of the spectrum.

"A single exposure to a small American flag during deliberation about voting intentions prior to a general election led to significant and robust changes in participants' voting intentions, voting behavior, and political attitudes, all in the politically conservative direction," the study reads.

To ensure that the party in power at the time of the test didn't have an effect on the survey answers, another survey was conducted eight months after the 2008 election. Results found that participants exposed to the American flag "felt less positively about Obama's job performance."

To further prove their point, a third test was conducted in May 2010 in which participants were shown pictures of buildings with a flag and others with the flag digitally erased.

The last test resulted in similar answers to the first two, reinforcing the argument that even subtle exposure to the American flag considerably shifted people's beliefs, Republican or Democrat, toward Republicanism.

A study of the impact that viewing the American flag has on politics has not been done before, but it is similar to a study recently conducted by Harvard University.

That study's findings argued that attending July 4 parades are more beneficial to the Republican Party -- they boost turnout of GOP voters, increase Republican patriotism and turn kids into Republicans.

The authors in the current study also cited a 2007 "Personality and Social Psychology Bulletin" report that concluded that brief exposure to the American flag increased aggressive thoughts and behavior, especially among those who followed political news.

It is ironic that the Moonbat left would associate viewing Old Glory with Republicans.  If this was true, then Obama would not be President today.  But just in case it does work, I put enough pictures of Old Glory on this post to turn even the most liberal person into a Tea Party member.

The Truth About the West Bank

This is just a short 6 minute video produced by Stand With Us and the Israeli Foreign Ministry.

The Lowest of the Low!

I had thought I had heard every low theft that metal thieves had do.  The bicycles, baby carriages, air conditioners, copper piping from homes were just a few.  But this one is the lowest of the low.  Only the worse scum of the Earth does this.  There are no words to describe these thieves.
ABINGTON —

Elaine Harte sensed something was out of place while visiting her late husband’s grave in the shaded veterans lot at Mount Vernon Cemetery.

Gone from a nearby veteran’s grave was its weathered, bronze memorial medallion, mounted on a rod of copper or bronze. Harte then noticed other graves with their medallions gone or lying on the ground, missing their stake mounts.

Suspecting theft or vandalism, Harte called the town’s director of veterans services, Joseph D. Colantoni.

“I think it is terrible to do this to those graves. These men fought for our country,” Harte said. She discovered the thefts on Thursday.

In the latest example of metal theft in the region, a thief or thieves stole 18 copper or bronze medallion stakes from the cemetery, said Superintendent John Burnett.

And that is just a preliminary count. Burnett said he has yet to do a complete inventory of the grave sites of hundreds of veterans buried throughout the 27-acre cemetery.

“They took the rods, not the medallions,” Burnett said. “It’s all about the money. I know it for a fact.”

The thief or thieves did not take medallions made of plastic or their aluminum stakes. They have much less cash value, Burnett said.

The inscribed bronze medallions also were left behind. Burnett said any honest scrap metal buyer would know they were taken from a cemetery.

Metal theft has become a hot crime trend around the region – and the country – over the past few years, since the price for scrap metal shot up. The items have ranged from hacked-away pieces of railroad track to ripped-out copper down-spouts at a church and stolen manhole covers from local streets.

Copper theft in particular started rising significantly in 2007, as commodity-market prices jumped and local scrap yards began paying more than $2.50 per pound.

On Monday, Tony Pusateri, an Abington resident and owner of Spiegel Scrap Metal in Brockton, said the going rate for copper now is about $3 a pound. For bronze, it’s about $2.25 a pound.

“I am totally livid,” William Vegnani, chairman of the Veterans Memorial Trustees Committee, said about the grave thefts in Abington. “I have been taking care of this place for 20 years, and I never took a dime for it. Never mind that these veterans were my friends.”

Colantoni said he reported the theft to Abington police, and Chief David G. Majenski assigned an officer to investigate.

“We are getting the full cooperation of the Abington Police Department,” said Colantoni. “This is the first time this has happened.”

Burnett said the theft comes at a time of economic hardship when people should be pulling together.

“This is going to continue. It is happening all over the country,” he said.

Pusateri, who owns the scrap metal shop, was a victim of such a theft himself. About two months ago, someone robbed the company of $2,000 worth of copper wiring. Police later arrested the thief in Braintree trying to sell the copper, Pusateri said.

Vegnani said the town’s cemetery account has $600 to replace the medallion stakes with aluminum ones to help deter future thefts. “I know unemployment is high, but I do not understand why they would desecrate a cemetery like that,” said Rockland veterans agent Anton Materna. “It is the lowest of the low.
Placing these whoresons in prison would be too good.  For these scum we should bring back an old American punishment:  Hot tar and feathers.

We are warming it up!

Let There Be Slave-Girls

This Kuwaiti woman must believe it is the 7th Century not the 21st Century.  She advocates slave-girls to keep Kuwaiti men faithful to their wives.  But does she want one of those wonderfully faithful Kuwaiti men?  No.  She advocates the buying of "husbands" from Europe.  She wants the handsome (blond), faithful man who will treat her like an equal and not as a piece of furniture.

BTW:  I had no idea that Dubai is a leading country in the world?  Outside of the oil money and the skyscrapers that money has bought, what inventions has it created to the world?  What is Dubai's human right's record?  Is it a Democracy?  Here is some advice if you visit Dubai:  Don't hold hands with your girlfriend/wife.  If you are gay don't hold hands with your boyfriend.  Don't kiss.  And whatever you do, don't make love on the beach (or in your hotel room for that instance.).  You will be thrown in jail for such "crimes".

Diversity, Diversity and Not Much Else at the University of California

Heather MacDonald has hit the nail on the head about the over-emphasis on diversity within the University of California system in this piece in City-Journal.org. As MacDonald points out, it has gone beyond madness.

Less Academics, More Narcissism

The University of California is cutting back on many things, but not useless diversity programs.

14 July 2011

"California’s budget crisis has reduced the University of California to near-penury, claim its spokesmen. “Our campuses and the UC Office of the President already have cut to the bone,” the university system’s vice president for budget and capital resources warned earlier this month, in advance of this week’s meeting of the university’s regents. Well, not exactly to the bone. Even as UC campuses jettison entire degree programs and lose faculty to competing universities, one fiefdom has remained virtually sacrosanct: the diversity machine.

Not only have diversity sinecures been protected from budget cuts, their numbers are actually growing. The University of California at San Diego, for example, is creating a new full-time “vice chancellor for equity, diversity, and inclusion.” This position would augment UC San Diego’s already massive diversity apparatus, which includes the Chancellor’s Diversity Office, the associate vice chancellor for faculty equity, the assistant vice chancellor for diversity, the faculty equity advisors, the graduate diversity coordinators, the staff diversity liaison, the undergraduate student diversity liaison, the graduate student diversity liaison, the chief diversity officer, the director of development for diversity initiatives, the Office of Academic Diversity and Equal Opportunity, the Committee on Gender Identity and Sexual Orientation Issues, the Committee on the Status of Women, the Campus Council on Climate, Culture and Inclusion, the Diversity Council, and the directors of the Cross-Cultural Center, the Lesbian Gay Bisexual Transgender Resource Center, and the Women’s Center.

“vice chancellor for equity, diversity, and inclusion.”

Can't make this stuff up, folks.

Since when is a university supposed to get involved with the sexual orientation of its students?

It’s not surprising that the new vice chancellor’s mission is rather opaque, given its superfluity. According to outgoing UCSD chancellor Marye Anne Fox, the new VC for EDI “will be responsible for building on existing diversity plans to develop and implement a campus-wide strategy on equity, diversity and inclusion.” UCSD has been churning out such diversity strategies for years. The “campus-wide strategy on equity, diversity and inclusion” that the new hire will supposedly produce differs from its predecessors only in being self-referential: it will define the very scope of the VC’s duties and the number of underlings he will command. “The strategic plan,” says Fox, “will inform the final organizational structure for the office of the VC EDI, will propose metrics to gauge progress, and will identify potential additional areas of responsibility.”

What a boon for a taxpayer-funded bureaucrat, to be able to define his own portfolio and determine how many staff lines he will control! UC Berkeley’s own vice chancellor for equity and inclusion shows how voracious a diversity apparatchik’s appetite for power can be. Gibor Basri has 17 people working for him in his immediate office, including a “chief of staff,” two “project/policy analysts,” and a “director of special projects.” The funding propping up Basri’s vast office could support many an English or history professor. According to state databases, Basri’s base pay in 2009 was $194,000, which does not include a variety of possible add-ons, including summer salary and administrative stipends. By comparison, the official salary for assistant professors at UC starts at around $53,000. Add to Basri’s salary those of his minions, and you’re looking at more than $1 million a year.

UC San Diego is adding diversity fat even as it snuffs out substantive academic programs. In March, the Academic Senate decided that the school would no longer offer a master’s degree in electrical and computer engineering; it also eliminated a master’s program in comparative literature and courses in French, German, Spanish, and English literature. At the same time, the body mandated a new campus-wide diversity requirement for graduation. The cultivation of “a student’s understanding of her or his identity,” as the diversity requirement proposal put it, would focus on “African Americans, Asian Americans, Pacific Islanders, Hispanics, Chicanos, Latinos, Native Americans, or other groups” through the “framework” of “race, ethnicity, gender, religion, sexuality, language, ability/disability, class or age.” Training computer scientists to compete with the growing technical prowess of China and India, apparently, can wait. More pressing is guaranteeing that students graduate from UCSD having fully explored their “identity.” Why study Cervantes, Voltaire, or Goethe when you can contemplate yourself? “Diversity,” it turns out, is simply a code word for narcissism.

At the same time, the body mandated a new campus-wide diversity requirement for graduation. The cultivation of “a student’s understanding of her or his identity,”

I wonder if George Galloway could graduate?

UC San Diego just lost a trio of prestigious cancer researchers to Rice University. Rice had offered them 40 percent pay raises over their total compensation packages, which at UCSD ranged from $187,000 to $330,000 a year. They take with them many times that amount in government grants. Scrapping the new Vice Chancellorship for Equity, Diversity, and Inclusion could have saved at least one, if not two, of those biologists’ positions, depending on how greedily the new VC for EDI defines his realm. UCSD is not disclosing how much the VC for EDI will pull in or how large his staff will be: “We expect that [budget/staffing] will be part of the negotiation with the successful candidate at the end of our search process,” says Senior Director of Marketing and Communications Judy Piercey. Since the new UCSD vice chancellor will be responsible for equity, inclusion, and diversity—unlike the Berkeley vice chancellor, who is responsible only for equity and inclusion—the salary at UCSD will presumably reflect that infinitely greater mandate.

UCSD is by no means the only campus bullish on the diversity business, despite budgetary shortfalls hitting the UC system everywhere else. In 2010, Berkeley announced the UC Berkeley Initiative for Equity, Diversity and Inclusion, funded in part by a $16 million gift from the Evelyn and Walter Haas, Jr. Fund. The “new” initiative duplicates existing “equity” projects, not least the Berkeley Diversity Research Initiative, established by Berkeley chancellor Robert Birgeneau in 2006. This latest initiative boasts five new faculty chairs in “diversity-related research”—one of which will be “focused on equity rights affecting the lesbian, gay, bisexual and transgender community,” according to the press release, and “will be one of the first endowed chairs on this subject in the United States.” (Sorry, Berkeley, Yale got there first.)

"UC Berkeley Initiative for Equity, Diversity and Inclusion"

The main purpose of the UC Berkeley Initiative for Equity, Diversity and Inclusion seems to be to buy for the academic identity racket the respectability that no amount of campus mau-mauing has yet been able to achieve. “Area studies such as ethnic studies, queer studies and gender studies tend to be marginalized and viewed as less essential to the university than such fields as engineering, law or biology,” glumly noted the press release. (The use of the term “area studies” to refer to the solipsist’s curriculum is a novel appropriation of a phrase originally referring to geopolitical specialization.) According to a campus administrator on the Berkeley Diversity Research Initiative’s executive committee, the new initiative will change the character of Berkeley’s area studies by “asserting [sic] them squarely into the main life and importance of the campus.”

"Area studies such as ethnic studies, queer studies and gender studies tend to be marginalized and viewed as less essential to the university than such fields as engineering, law or biology,” glumly noted the press release."

Conferring academic legitimacy on narcissism studies is apparently a superhuman task deserving of superhuman remuneration. The salary and expense account of the likely new director of the UC Berkeley Initiative for Equity, Diversity and Inclusion, John Powell—who is currently the executive director of the Kirwan Institute for the Study of Race and Ethnicity at Ohio State University’s law school—will likely dwarf anything seen so far among diversocrats, according to inside sources.

UCLA’s diversity infrastructure has likewise been spared the budgetary ax. In the pre-recession 2005–06 academic year, UCLA’s associate vice chancellor for faculty diversity reported up the bureaucratic ladder to a vice chancellor for academic personnel, herself reporting to an executive vice chancellor and provost, who in turn reported to the university chancellor. Today, that associate vice chancellor for faculty diversity has been transformed into a vice provost position, while the vice chancellor for academic personnel above her has been eliminated. The new vice provost for faculty diversity will not be lonely; she can pal around with UCLA’s associate director for diversity research and analysis, its associate vice provost for student diversity, its associate dean for academic diversity, its director of diversity outreach, and its director of staff affirmative action.

The one observable activity performed by these lavishly funded diversity bureaucrats is to pressure academic departments to hire more women and minorities. (Even that activity is superfluous, given the abundant pressure for race and gender quotas already exerted by campus groups, every accrediting agency, and external political bodies.) Should a department fail to satisfy—as it inevitably will in every field with low minority participation—only one explanation is possible: a departmental or campus “climate” hostile to diversity, which then requires more intercessions from the diversity bureaucracy. The fact that every other college and university in the country is scouring the horizon for the identical elusive cache of qualified female and minority hires is not allowed into the discourse. Even less acceptable is any recognition of the academic achievement gap between black and Hispanic students, on the one hand, and white and Asian students, on the other, which affects the pool of qualified faculty candidates in fields with remotely traditional scholarly prerequisites. Student admissions offices are under the same pressure, which in California results in the constant generation of new schemes for “holistic” admissions procedures designed to evade the ban on racial and gender preferences that California voters enacted in 1996.

UC San Diego’s lunge toward an even more costly diversity apparatus was inspired in part by one of those periodic outbreaks of tasteless adolescent humor that every diversity bureaucrat lives for (and whose significance is trivial compared with the overwhelmingly supportive environment that today’s universities provide all of their students). But it was hardly out of character on a campus presided over by a chancellor fond of “social justice” rhetoric. And UC’s other campuses are equally committed to bureaucratic diversity aggrandizement, even without a pretext for accelerating those efforts.

This week, in light of a possible cut of $650 million in state financing, the University of California’s regents will likely raise tuition rates to $12,192. Though tuition at UC will remain a bargain compared with what you would pay at private colleges, the regents won’t be meeting their responsibility to California’s taxpayers if they pass over in silence the useless diversity infrastructure that sucks money away from the university’s real function: teaching students about the world outside their own limited selves. California’s budget crisis could have had a silver lining if it had resulted in the dismantling of that infrastructure—but the power of the diversity complex makes such an outcome unthinkable."

Well that's just ducky. Less science, engineering and real subjects and more DIVERSITY. More money to be spent on Vice Chancellors for Diversity and Inclusion to be paid for by tuition hikes. The end result is that when you graduate, you will be less educated than a rock, but you will "understand" your identity as a fill-in-the blank. Since when is that the job of a university?

I might add that the campus where I teach-in spite of all my postings- is probably the sanest campus in the UC system. You know why? Because number one, UCI has a smaller humanities section and number two, most of our students are Asian-Americans. And before you politically-correct readers jump all over me, let me state that if we had more humanities and a student body that was 100% white, we would be just as crazy as Berkeley, UCLA, Santa Cruz and San Diego. I'll tell you something else. This is a giant slap in the face of minorities and gay people because it's telling them that they are like special needs, handicapped children with Downs Syndrome or something like that who need special programs to make it in life.

Here's a fact of life. A university is not supposed to be designed to make anyone feel good about their identity. That is supposed to be done within yourself and among your family and community.

That the university of California is devoting all this effort, time, money departments and high-salaried jobs to making ethnic or sexual groups feel good about themselves means they are not doing what they are supposed to do-educate. At the same time, UC tuitions are going through the roof to pay for all this nonsense.

Do you think that just maybe somebody should be fired?

"Uhhh.....yeaaaah."

Like maybe me tomorrow morning?

It Was This Big!

Take 1,000 gay and bisexual men, measure their penises, ask them questions on their sex life and spend $899,769 on it and what do you get?  The Association Between Penis Size and Sexual Health Among Men Who Have Sex with Men.

I kid you not!
The federal government helped fund a study that examined what effect a gay man's penis size has on his sex life and general well-being.

The study was among several backed by the National Institutes of Health that have come under scrutiny from a group claiming the agency is wasting valuable tax dollars at a time when the country is trying to control its debt. This particular research resulted in a 2009 report titled, "The Association Between Penis Size and Sexual Health Among Men Who Have Sex with Men."

The study reported, among its findings, that gay men with "below average penises" were more likely to assume a "bottom" sexual position, while those with "above average penises" were more likely to assume a "top" sexual position. Those with average penises identified themselves as "versatile" in the bedroom.

Though it's difficult to trace exactly how much federal funding went to the project, the study was one of many linked to an $899,769 grant in 2006. The grant was administered by NIH's National Institute on Drug Abuse, and went first to a group called Public Health Solutions and a researcher with the National Development and Research Institutes before going to individual researchers.

Those researchers then compiled data from a survey of more than 1,000 gay and bisexual men at events in New York City for the gay community.

"This country is broke and we cannot spend money on this kind of stuff," said Andrea Lafferty, president of the Traditional Values Coalition, which drew attention to the report as part of a six-month investigation into NIH grants for examples of "institutional waste."

"We're spending money on wacky stuff," Lafferty said.

But one of the researchers involved with the report told FoxNews.com that NIH funding was only used to help "analyze and write up" data that had already been collected without the use of taxpayer funds.

"The data were not collected using taxpayer funds," Jeffrey Parsons, a professor with Hunter College, said in an email. "NIH funds were not used to measure anyone's penis size."

"This study was funded by the Hunter College Center for HIV/AIDS Education Studies and Training," the National Institutes of Health said. "Dr. Christian Grov was supported as a postdoctoral research fellow at the time the research was conducted by a National Institute on Drug Abuse (NIDA)-funded training grant."

Parsons took issue with Lafferty's description of the grant.

A Traditional Values Coalition release stated that at least $9.4 million went to a 10-year study that included the penis-size research -- but Parsons said it appears that references a much broader "post-doctoral training program" of which the penis-study funding was a "small" part.

Other studies stemming from the same 2006 grant examined topics ranging from the drug market in Houston following Hurricane Katrina to the connection between contraceptives and STD prevention in Madagascar.

"To suggest that 9.4 million dollars was spent to study penis sizes is factually inaccurate and simply designed to create news," Parsons wrote.

The study, which last year was published in the Archives of Sexual Behavior, claimed there previously had been "little research among men who have sex with men assessing the association between penis size and socio-sexual health."

The study found that men with larger penises were more likely to contract certain sexually transmitted diseases. It also found that men with above-average penises enjoyed more satisfaction with their lifestyle.

The original survey had a relatively high response rate -- with 83 percent of those approached agreeing to participate. "As an incentive, those who completed the survey were given a voucher for free admission to a movie," the study said.

Lafferty's group drew attention to several other studies Monday that it claimed were "bizarre" in the current fiscal climate. Among them was one that asked individuals to "mail in their toenails" to measure "toenail nicotine," according to the values coalition.

"The president has said he's going to hunt down waste. Well, I'm going to give it to him on a platter," Lafferty said.

We don't have the money to pay the elderly their Social Security checks, Veterans their VA checks, Military their pay but we have the funds to ask gay men how big they are?  I think the researchers of this project and other pork projects should pay the taxpayer back.

In The USA

Hat Tip to Patriot's Corner

In the USA - The Homeless go without eating.

In the USA - The Elderly go without needed medicines.

In the USA - The Mentally ill go without treatment.

In the USA - Our Troops go without proper equipment.

In the USA - Our Veterans go without benefits they were promised.

Yet we donate billions to other countries before helping our own first.
Have the guts to re-post this. 1% will re-post, 99% won't have the guts to re-post this.

In the USA........

Yes, and we all know the above is true, painfully so. While the United States is still the BEST and foremost country in which one can reside in, we have our problems and faults. NO country is perfect nor does any country have a spotless, pure Lilly white past when one delves into our history or the history of any other country.

Most of our problems that we are now facing could be solved or the burdens greatly eased by cutting off any and all aid to those countries that take and take from us, and then stab us in the back every way they can. The amount of aid we dump into the muslim world is appalling, especially when we look at how obama, the first muslim potus has reached out to the perverted, backward and violent muslim world. pakistan and afghanistan immediately come to mind and these two are just the tip of the iceberg and are a perfect example.

There are those who will say yes, the above is true and Israel should be included in this group and be cut off from all aid from the United States. One major difference; Israel is our ally(no thanks to obama and his islamist administration) and would stand next to us in a time of war and conflict. Many of our so called European allies cannot hold a candle to Israel when compared to Israel in terms of being a true ally even after all the mullah obamaham has done to Israel.

It is long past time to take care of our own, and those who are not our true allies need to be kicked to the curb.

Thanks to Paul English Whu for the re-post on the opening portion of this feed.

OK Patriot I've taken up your challenge and I send it out to the world.  I dare you to repost this.
