You may have heard on the news about a southern California man put under 72-hour psychiatric observation when it was found he owned 100 guns and allegedly had (by rough estimate) 100,000 rounds of ammunition stored in his home. The house also featured a secret escape tunnel.

By southern California standards someone owning 100,000 rounds would be called “mentally unstable.” Just imagine if he lived elsewhere:

In Arizona, he’d be called “an avid gun collector.”

In Arkansas, he’d be called “a novice gun collector.”

In Utah, he’d be called “moderately well prepared,” but they’d probably reserve judgment until they made sure that he had a corresponding quantity of stored food.

In Texas and Montana, he’d be called “The neighborhood ‘Go-To’ guy.”

In Alabama, he’d be called “a likely gubernatorial candidate.”

In Georgia, he’d be called “an eligible bachelor.”

In North Carolina, Louisiana ,Tennessee and South Carolina he would be called “a deer hunting buddy.”

And, in Mississippi his Church would take up a collection to help out a brother in such short supply.

The bodies from the shooting at the Washington Navy Yard were not even cold yet, the smoke had not entirely cleared the air, and there was Senator Diane Feinstein, a "progressive" (21st century code-word for Marxist) from California, railing amid the metaphorical flow of verbal crocodile tears: "When is enough, enough?"

Oh woe, Oh woe, Senator. When, indeed, is enough, enough? Believe me when I proclaim to you, and your cohorts on the left, we have HAD far MORE than enough of your assault on our constitutional rights.

On the other hand, it is close enough to the 2014 elections that it might serve a good purpose for you democrats to begin beating the drum AGAIN for gun control.

Americans have had a belly-full of "you people" and we are currently on the cusp of driving you from power in Washington. That little added "umph" of attempted gun control could do the trick for us and give us a real chance to fumigate the halls of Congress of the stench of Marxism without you leftists in it continually creating a veritable fog of noxious communist propaganda.

So, go ahead, Senator. Give us more political ammo to use against you, and I assure you, madam, WE SHALL!

Why, oh why, after learning that the people committing these awful gun crimes are mentally ill, does the government insist on blaming perfectly sane law-abiding citizens for the erratic behavior of the mentally ill?

You want to stop the gun massacres? Get the mentally ill off the streets and into secure hospitals where they can be treated -- and the public can be safe from them. It is that simple.

BUT --- The gun control advocates won't even discuss this simple solution. Very much like "profiling," somehow, the left sees treating the mentally ill as a violation of THEIR constitutional rights. How convoluted is that?

They're throwing around that phrase "common sense" again. Have you noticed? Common sense gun control, restrictions/regulations, etc.

Look, anytime the left tosses around the words "common sense" Americans had better grab their guns and trot quickly to the barricades.

Common sense? Come on, folks! At the same time that thirteen bleeding dead bodies are lying on the ground beneath a blue haze of gun smoke, our fearless(?)/feckless President goes on national TV to ... make another political speech ... a POLITICAL SPEECH, while Americans lay dead and wounded just a mile and a half from the room in which he was speaking! THAT'S common sense???

That's callousness.

That's not caring.

That's hard-hearted -- not to mention that it is politically DUMB!

Two things I'd like you to notice from Mr. Carney's words above: "Overwhelming Majority of Americans" and "Common-sense measures." Now. Ask yourself ... where is that overwhelming majority of Americans Carney speaks of -- and -- by whose definition are the intended gun control "measures" "common-sense?"

Think about this for a moment: The Ship Yard Shooting took place in a city with arguably the strictest gun control laws of any city in the United States. The Ship Yard, itself, is another gun free zone within that city. And yet, 13 people lie shot to death. Remember, the shooting did not stop until GOOD MEN WITH GUNS STOPPED IT!

The tsunami of calls for "common sense gun control measures" began, predictably, as if already planned and ready for dissemination. If one did not know better, one would think gun control advocates had really prepared, in advance, this hyper reaction to the shooting at the Ship Yard.

It is all Bovine Scatology carefully designed to make the weak-minded amongst us feel good about giving up their God-given rights to the government.

It is typical of the political left to play upon the emotions of the electorate. Their entire platform depends upon manipulating the emotions of the people. That's why, when the left is in power in America, the country is maintained on the very edge of one crisis, or another, every single day. That continued assault on the human psyche weakens the ability to focus and think logically. And, as we should all know by now, LOGICAL thinking will destroy the left's politics every time.

NOW you understand why America lurches from one near disaster to another during periods in which the Democratic Party is in control, marginally, or otherwise. If those crises do not create themselves, well, the left is not above assisting in the creation of such situations. A sort of "tail wagging the dog" kind of thing, don't you know.

Don B. Kates, writing on statistical patterns in gun crime said this: "...Virtually never are murderers the ordinary, law-abiding people against whom gun bans are aimed. Almost without exception, murderers are extreme aberrants with lifelong histories of crime, substance abuse, psychopathology, mental retardation and/or irrational violence against those around them, as well as other hazardous behavior, e.g., automobile and gun accidents."

So, for gun owners, it is back to the barricades once more. It appears we are doomed to fighting the same battle over and over again. We have no choice, for the moment we let down our guard, we will no longer be citizens. We will be unarmed subjects.

72 Killed During Gun Confiscation In Boston

BOSTON

National guard units seeking to confiscate a cache of recently banned assault weapons were ambushed on April 19th by elements of a para-military extremist faction. Military and law enforcement sources estimate that 72 were killed and more than 200 injured before government forces were compelled to withdraw.

Speaking after the clash, Massachusetts Governor Thomas Gage declared that the extremist faction, which was made up of local citizens, has links to the radical right-wing tax protest movement. Gage blamed the extremists for recent incidents of vandalism directed against internal revenue offices. The governor, who described the group's organizers as "criminals," issued an executive order authorizing the summary arrest of any individual who has interfered with the government's efforts to secure law and order. The military raid on the extremist arsenal followed wide-spread refusal by the local citizenry to turn over recently outlawed assault weapons.

Gage issued a ban on military-style assault weapons and ammunition earlier in the week. This decision followed a meeting in early this month between government and military leaders at which the governor authorized the forcible confiscation of illegal arms.

One government official, speaking on condition of anonymity, pointed out that "none of these people would have been killed had the extremists obeyed the law and turned over their weapons voluntarily." Government troops initially succeeded in confiscating a large supply of outlawed weapons and ammunition. However, troops attempting to seize arms and ammunition in Lexington met with resistance from heavily-armed extremists who had been tipped off regarding the government's plans. During a tense standoff in Lexington 's town park, National Guard Colonel Francis Smith, commander of the government operation, ordered the armed group to surrender and return to their homes. The impasse was broken by a single shot, which was reportedly fired by one of the right-wing extremists. Eight civilians were killed in the ensuing exchange.

Ironically, the local citizenry blamed government forces rather than the extremists for the civilian deaths. Before order could be restored, armed citizens from surrounding areas had descended upon the guard units. Colonel Smith, finding his forces overmatched by the armed mob, ordered a retreat.

Governor Gage has called upon citizens to support the state/national joint task force in its effort to restore law and order. The governor also demanded the surrender of those responsible for planning and leading the attack against the government troops. Samuel Adams, Paul Revere, and John Hancock, who have been identified as "ringleaders" of the extremist faction, remain at large.

And this, people, is how the American Revolution began.

Hello once more from the Regional Headquarters Of Conspiratorial Right Wing Jingoistic Conclusion Jumping Constitution Supporting Conceal Carry Believers Of West Texas.

FIREARMS:

Within the past week we have seen the reports of the Muslim Terrorist attacks on one British and one French soldier in their respective countries.Keep in mind that both France and England have been two of the European countries who have welcomed the believers in Islam with open arms. As I understand it, the French soldier was still alive but of course the British soldier was beheaded by two Muslim Terrorist Extremists.

Then on the following day, 5/24/13 I was listening to a morning news report when they played the tape of a 9-1-1 call to the Oregon State Police. In this audio a lady had called her local 9-1-1 responder which was the local Sheriff's Department and found that the Sheriff's Department was closed and no Deputy available at that hour and the call was forwarded to the State Police Operator. The lady told this operator that her ex-boyfriend was breaking in her home and she was alone and was afraid that he was going to harm her. According to the news report this boyfriend had beaten up this caller in the past.

The operator told this lady that she had no one to send and suggested that the lady ask this ex-boyfriend to just leave. WOW! What great advice.

Now, it seems as the reason for the Sheriff's Dept. being closed during certain hours was being blamed on the "Sequester" and lack of funds for this Oregon Sheriff's Department. I personally am surprised that they did not blame George Bush, whom we all know is responsible for Hurricane Katrina and many other mishaps.

BUT, the point of all three of these stories is this. England and France have laws which prohibit firearms ownership by most citizens, much less the citizens being authorized to carry these firearms. And I am surprised that this dispatcher never even asked the lady in Oregon if she had a firearm in her home. I would have to believe that the answer would have been NO.

Now I am not saying that the attacks on those two soldiers could not have happened here in the U.S. BUT, I am saying that attacks such as these would probably incite bystanders to act a bit more aggressively than just filming the murder with their cell phones. I would imagine that an armed attacker in almost any location in Texas, New Mexico, Arizona, Colorado, Montana, Wyoming, Utah, Nevada, Oklahoma, North Dakota, South Dakota, Louisiana, Arkansas, Florida, and a number of other states would be met with armed resistance and the likelihood of them beheading anyone would be highly unlikely. BUT their being shot would be HIGHLY PROBABLE.

I just wonder if any of these three people who were victims of attacks would have had a Liberal/Progressive/Democrat/Socialist view of firearms possession by honest people? I will wager that they wouldn't.

BUT, the Obama Administration and the rest of the Socialist jerks in our country have the typical view that since they don't own or carry or desire to own a firearm that NOBODY should be able to do something other than what they approve.

AND, if they get their way, firearms ownership and self protection aren't the only things which will be taken from us.

MOVIE:

A couple of days ago I was passing through one of our rooms and looked at the TV screen and thought that perhaps the Turner Classic Movie Channel or the A&E Channel were showing a repeat of the old Annette Funicello - Frankie Avalon movie, "Beach Blanket Bingo". Then I took a closer look and found that I was watching a news channel showing the new love affair between Barack Obama and New Jersey Governor Chris Christie.

I don't know how many people still believe that Chris Christie is a Conservative Republican, but I'll bet I could fit them all into a telephone booth.

I wonder just how many people in New Jersey really believe that Barack Hussein Obama really gives a damn about their particular problems?

It is amazing how many people watch this phony operator of the world's largest shell game make a television appearance in Oklahoma and actually believe that this vermin gives a damn about the people in Oklahoma which was maybe the reddest of the red states. I read in one report that not one single county in Oklahoma was carried by the Obama/Biden ticket in the 2012 election.

BUT apparently the voters in New Jersey, who seem to be confused as to what a Conservative Republican really looks like, are totally enamored by the appearance of the world's most articulate and intelligent human who shows up on the Jersey Shore for no other reason than a political one.

And of course in my estimation the love scenes between Barack Hussein Obama and Chris Christie are much more torrid than those between Frankie and Annette.

SIZE:

And no, I am not discussing the weight loss of the aforementioned Chris Christie. I am referring to the SIZE of our FEDERAL GOVERNMENT.

We have all watched various politicians and members of the Mainstream Media tell us for several weeks that we can't expect Barack Hussein Obama OR Eric Holder OR the various musical chair directors of the IRS to know what every single person in their departments is doing.

REALLY? Funny, but I DO EXPECT these heads of government and governmental agencies to keep abreast of major investigations and of major policy violations by the people working for them.

Do not in one sentence try to tell me that Barack Hussein Obama and Eric Holder and Janet Napolitano and Hillary Clinton and a myriad of other Obama appointees are the most efficient and knowledgeable people on the planet and in the next breath try to convince me that they are just folks like us who cannot be expected to be aware of everything going on under their supposed leadership.

The truth of the matter is that our federal government and the expanded bureaucracy promoted by the Obama Administration has, in fact gotten way out of hand and needs to be DOWNSIZED.

If you have been watching any of the reports of Benghazi; the IRS; and the Justice Department scandals then you will come to the same conclusion as me. First of all, I do not believe that Barack Hussein Obama has appointed ANYONE who would have the balls to make a major decision without first getting his approval.

Our government has grown way too many arms and legs and while I don't believe for a second that these scandals were put in motion without the knowledge and approval of Barack Hussein Obama there might not be any way to prove that he is culpable in any of them. That, of course depends upon his underlings having the guts to take the blame themselves. We shall see.

One thing that this administration is downsizing is our military. And, in my opinion, that is the one area where we can least afford to be short with the world situation being what it is today.

On May 27th, when all the banks and government offices were off for the Memorial Day Holiday, I was drinking coffee with a friend at a local coffee shop. A young man walked up to place an order and my friend told me to look what it said on this man's shirt. It had the name of a U.S. Military base and when the young man turned, my friend asked him if he had been stationed at that base and the young man answered, "Yes Sir". This was a young Hispanic man who looked to be in perhaps his early thirties. He was very clean cut looking and very articulate.

My friend told him that he had been stationed for awhile at that base during the Korean War. We learned that this young man had just been discharged from the U.S. Military after having served 12 years. We asked him about his reasons for leaving and he told us that he had to have some surgery on a tendon in his leg and that although his surgery had been successful he had been medically discharged, although he actually wanted to continue his career in the military. He said that his branch of service was caught in a move to DOWNSIZE and his position was abolished. Without asking him to commit to any political views we inquired as to his thoughts about the downsizing of the U.S. Military and he was obviously dead set against it. He said that there were many people who did not wish to make the military their career who were still in the service. He was pretty disenchanted with the present situation regarding the leadership in the top levels of the U.S. Military. This young man had served in both Iraq and Afghanistan. It seems to me that there are a bunch of government which could do with a good dose of downsizing or complete elimination BUT NOT OUR MILITARY.

On May 23rd, Obama in one of his public appearances made a statement about respecting STATE SOVEREIGNTY in dealing with foreign countries. Wonder what his views are on the SOVEREIGNTY of the FIFTY STATES which compose our own country? It doesn't seem to me as if he is all that concerned with our individual states having any rights or input in governing the citizens of that state.

I imagine we have all heard the female supposed heckler interrupting Obama's speech and calling for the closure of the prison at Guantanamo. She went on ranting for a good while before she was removed from the room, at which time Obama said that we should all be listening to what that heckler had to say and that he supported what she said. First of all, I don't believe for a second that she was a dyed-in-the-wool, garden variety heckler. I am convinced that she was a PLANT in order to try and convince the American people that the prison in Guantanamo which holds ONLY TERRORISTS is a really important issue with the American people. Forgive me if I have the opinion that the vast majority of Americans don't give a damn about the prison OR its occupants.

I don't know about the rest of you but if I have to listen to another in depth report of John McCain going to Syria to meet with the Syrian Rebel Leadership I will probably do like Michael Jackson in a Pepsi Commercial and burst into flames. The first few reports I heard made it sound like McCain had at great risk to himself gone deep into Syria to meet with the Syrian Rebel leadership to try and determine just what level of assistance the U.S. should give the rebel army.

A little later in the day one reporter said that the meeting location was LESS THAN A KILOMETER inside the Syrian border. Now I am not saying that going anywhere in Syria is not dangerous but I am of the same belief as retired Lt. Col. Ralph Peters and believe that we need to keep our asses out of that conflict lest we end up backing the same brand of folks we backed in Libya and Egypt. I guess what I am saying is that in Syria, I am not sure there is a right side. I feel sure that the Rebel leadership will be just as one sided and as hard on the Syrian people as is the turd who is now in power.

Please contact your elected Representatives and Senators and let them know in no uncertain terms that any weakness on their parts in the gun control debate will result in you working against them in their next bid for re-election. Right now, I am pretty darn pleased with Texas Senator Ted Cruz since he is being branded as a bully by Harry Reid. Of course I would imagine that in Harry Reid's eyes, Pee Wee Herman would be a bit of a bully. Reid is pure sissy in my opinion.

The Battle Of Athens

Or How Common Citizens Removed A Corrupt Government From Their County.

The Battle of Athens (sometimes called the McMinn County War) was a rebellion led by citizens in Athens and Etowah, Tennessee, United States, against the local government in August 1946. The citizens, including some World War II veterans, accused the local officials of political corruption and voter intimidation.

Here is what happened:

Following World War II in 1946, violence erupted when returning American soldiers discovered their Tennessee county had been taken over by political corruption. Their plan to take it back involved bullets—lots of bullets—and dynamite.

Why Athens in McMinn County, Tennessee became a battleground was due to Paul Cantrell, a Democrat running for sheriff in the 1936 election. He won over his Republican opponent, although the victory was tainted by rumors of fraud. Cantrell was a corrupt sheriff—for example, since state law allowed his office to collect fees for each person booked, jailed, and released, deputies boarded buses passing through the city and arrested passengers on bogus charges of drunkenness, forcing them to pay fines. Prostitution, gambling, and kickbacks from illegal drinking establishments were commonplace.

The tide began to turn in 1945 when GIs returning to Athens were subjected to arrest on the flimsiest excuses and heavily fined. When the fed up soldiers attempted to support their choice for sheriff against Pat Mansfield (by then, Cantrell had been elected to the state Senate and backed Mansfield’s bid), matters boiled over into direct conflict on Election Day 1946.

Mansfield hired several hundred armed “deputies” to patrol the voting precincts in Athens—and no doubt to assist in the typical ballot stuffing and voter intimidation. The volatile situation escalated when Walter Ellis, an ex-GI and volunteer poll watcher, was arrested by Mansfield’s deputies and held without charge. A black resident, Tom Gillespie, was refused the right to vote, beaten, and shot. More GIs were arrested and threatened with violence. By the end of the day, the former soldiers had enough.

They broke into the town armory for weapons and besieged the jail, where Mansfield and his deputies had taken the ballet boxes. Battle continued sporadically throughout the night, resulting in wounded on both sides. When the GIs ran out of bullets around dawn, they began throwing dynamite. The deputies inside the jail surrendered.

The highly publicized Battle of Athens not only ousted corruption from one county in Tennessee, the lesson learned would ultimately lead to great reforms in Southern politics.

This is a part of American history that all elected official should learn and remember.  When the government forgets whom they serve and dictates to the American People what to think, do, say, read, and how to vote, it is incumbent upon the citizens of that town, city, county, state or nation to rise up and remove (By force if necessary.) the dictator.

What happened in Athens, Tennessee was the most extreme example of citizen action.  The last resort of a desperate people.

In such desperation the American people will do anything to return their rights to them.  Something every politician in this nation should remember.

For the first time in his Presidency, Barack Hussein Obama has lost a political battle.  And a big one to boot.

Never before had President Barack Obama put the moral force and political muscle of his presidency behind an issue quite this big — and lost quite this badly.

The president, shaken to the core by the massacre of 26 innocents at Sandy Hook Elementary School, broke his own informal “Obama Rule” — of never leaning into an issue without a clear path to victory — first by pushing for a massive gun control package no one expected to pass, and then sticking through it even as he retrenched to a relatively modest bipartisan bill mandating national background checks on gun purchases.

It was a bitter defeat for a president accustomed to winning, a second-term downer that may — or may not — foreshadow the slow decline suffered by so many of his predecessors. Obama seems to have the public behind him, but it illustrated his less-than-Johnsonian powers of personal persuasion, the possible shortcomings of his decision to wait a month after the killings to present a plan and above all the limits of his go-to “outside” strategy of taking his case directly to the American people.

More than anything, it was an emotional blow to Obama, who was as irritated at the four members of his own party as he was at the 90 percent of Republicans who defeated the bill.

One administration official told POLITICO the White House was especially disappointed with Sen. Heidi Heitkamp (D-N.D), the only dissenting Democrat not up for re-election next year, who refused to go along with the bill even after White House chief of staff Denis McDonough visited her office to make Obama’s case on Tuesday.

Still, officials believed Heitkamp would have flipped if they had gotten closer to the 60 votes they needed.

“The president was tremendously committed and emotionally engaged. I watched the president with these families. He was there for them and really felt it,” said Sen. Richard Blumenthal, a Connecticut Democrat who worked closely with the White House in the aftermath of the worst school shooting in the history of his state.

“Background checks will happen,” he added, minutes after the vote. “This outcome is a delay, not a defeat.”

Added Sen. Barbara Boxer (D-Calif.): “I never saw a president fight so hard, a vice president, never on any issue… It shows us the cowardice of the Senate.”

In the end, however, moderates and conservatives in the upper chamber said they simply couldn’t deal with a flurry of progressive issues at once — from gay marriage to immigration to guns.

The other three Democratic “no” votes — Max Baucus of Montana, Mark Pryor of Arkansas and Mark Begich of Alaska — were never really in play, sources familiar with the situation told POLITICO.

It wasn't the NRA that defeated this bill but the average gun owning man and woman who contacted their Senator and told him or her in certain terms that they would not be donating or supporting them in any reelection bid.  A great many calls, e-mails and letters have been sent.

This is the first time that Obama has been utterly defeated in what he wanted.  The next will be with that "Immigration Bill" that is thinly disguised Amnesty.

Obama's foreign policy is going to the dogs.  He has insulted every friend we have had in the world.  And now his domestic policies from Gun Control to Immigration to his Healthcare Law are dying.  History will remember him as the First Black President, but one of the worst in history.

Sunday night Michelle Obama had a first for any First Lady.  No she didn't learn proper table manners.  No she hasn't learned to dress properly.  Our dear First Lady presented the Oscar for Best Picture.  Surrounded by female soldiers, she told the world that Argo had won.  What joy!  See how low the office of First Lady has sunk.

The culmination of last night’s Oscars broadcast with a Live! feed from the White House with Mrs. Obama (hangin’ with her military BFs) marks the official recognition of the Presidency as theater: like the old Western sets, no substance required.

From the very beginning, President Obama was elected based on his strong delivery of stirring words, “Hope and change,” with no serious vetting of his record or policies. Having been awarded the presidency, as the Oscars follow the Golden Globes, Mr. Obama was next awarded the Nobel Peace Prize, solely for his well-scripted promises for peace.

And thus the facade continues: promising peace and delivering expanded war, with new frontiers broken for drone killings of children and other innocents, legal justifications crafted for killing Americans, and near-limitless executive power over nearly every aspect of our lives. Reciting the Progressive line while delivering impoverishment, decreased access and less-affordable healthcare, clearly it matters only what he says, not what is. His hoped-for next act: new goals of gun control that would make the most vulnerable more so, an increased minimum wage that would further exacerbate the inability of those with no work experience to get an entry-level job in which to hone the skills that will put them on the economic ladder, and “green” measures, based, like the Life of Pi, on computer-generated fantasy so much more appealing than dry real-world data.

But it’s OK. The Obamas make us feel good about ourselves, and, after all, that’s what Hollywood, er, Washington, is all about.

Of course, this didn’t start with this administration. Mr. Bush is still hailed a “conservative,” despite having perpetrated preemptive war based on an only-in-Washington scenario of mysterious WMDs, setting off the executive power avalanche that’s really rolling now, and quadrupling the size of the federal government.

But the trend certainly seems to be finding its culmination in the currently reigning stars of the White House—and it’s certainly not one that’s healthy for the ticket-paying audience.

By the end of January, it was 120 Sheriffs and two Sheriff's Associations listed, but today, according to CSPOA, which should really be bookmarked for anyone keeping track of the Second Amendment versus Obama's gun control battle, there are now 283 Sheriffs across the country and 8 Sheriff's Associations, all standing up in defense of their citizens' Second Amendment, constitutional right to bear arms without infringement.

[Update] Tenth Amendment is tracking states that have introduced Second Amendment Preservation of Firearm Protection acts (20 so far)  to protect their citizens from any new federal gun laws.

Mary Blair Elementary Gives Another Side to the Grenade Tossing Story

Last Wednesday we published a story about a little boy who was supposedly suspended from school for tossing an imaginary grenade into an imaginary box. This Week’s Worst School in the Country: Mary Blair Elementary

News stories about the boy were published by major news outlets throughout the country and then the story went viral.

Faultline USA wants to present all sides of the issue and to set the record straight concerning this particular story. Yesterday, we received an email from the school Superintendent, Stan Scheer. Here is that email:

I am writing in response to your recent email to the Thompson School District regarding Mary Blair Elementary School.

As a matter of practice, the Thompson School District does not comment publicly on matters of student discipline. In this case, however, the parent of the student has chosen to make this a public issue, and because there appears to be a great deal of misinformation in the media about this matter, we feel compelled to respond.

On February 1, 2013, a student at Mary Blair Elementary School was observed by a teacher throwing rocks at other children on the school’s playground. The teacher, following District procedures, escorted the child to the school principal, whereupon the student’s mother was contacted. Following a discussion with the student and his mother, the principal imposed a 2-hour in-school suspension as a consequence for the student’s behavior. The student was never removed from school grounds by the District.

...But when 7NEWS took a harder look at the 30-year-old mother's account of what happened on the playground, we found it may not be true.

7NEWS also found that Watkins has repeatedly appeared at the center of news stories in recent years and she has a lengthy criminal history that raises questions about her credibility. . . .

7NEWS' Sablan asked Watkins on Friday about her account that her son was throwing an "imaginary grenade," when the district says he threw rocks at other students.

Watkins insisted it was the school principal who said her son "had been suspended for throwing an imaginary grenade."

"There was an imaginary grenade," the mother continued. "He was throwing an imaginary grenade and that's why I (publicly) clarified and said, 'did he have anything in his hand?'"

Sablan asked if district officials are lying about the rock throwing?

"Yes, absolutely," Watkins replied. "It's not true at all." . . .

We truly hope that the school's version of the story is the correct version. But there are still a number of questions concerning the school's list of "Absolutes, " and why any parent would make an issue of a mere "2-hour in-school suspension" (whatever that is).

Perhaps the school district will have to revamp their policy about public comments concerning student discipline? In the interest of student privacy and yet, preemptive self-protection, perhaps schools should immediately list on their web page each suspension by date, time, and type of offense (omitting the student's name and identifying grade).

Additionally, the previous article links to articles concerning the overuse of suspension in schools throughout the country over the last decade. What, after all, is a "2-hour in-school suspension"??? Why is this term being overly used?

Politically charged Issues such as gun control and Zero tolerance are center stage right now and schools must use sound judgement instead of political correctness at the expense of a child's permanent record!

In Newtown's Wake, Schools Crackdown on Imaginary Weapons

In the wake of December's tragic shooting at Sandy Hook Elementary School in Newtown, Conn., schools nationwide have taken zero-tolerance policies aimed at reducing violence, suspending kids as young as 5 for brandishing "guns" made from Lego blocks and cutout pieces of paper.

But the policy at Evans' Mary Blair Elementary school in Loveland, Colo., is simple and stringent. "No Weapons (real or play)" is one of the school's "ABSOLUTES," or rules.

Loveland student's suspension spurs debate of zero-tolerance policies

. . .But the story has renewed discussions about a Colorado bill that eliminated zero-tolerance school discipline policies that arose following the Columbine High School shooting and the 1993 Summer of Violence, during which Denver’s street gang activity drew statewide attention.

Senate Bill 12-45, known as the Smart School Discipline Act, passed last year during a special session of the Colorado Legislature. The bill failed initially, but was brought back as an amendment to the School Finance Act.

It was designed to reduce the number of “unnecessary” suspensions, bill sponsor and former Rep. B.J. Nikkel, R-Loveland, said, by requiring school districts to implement “proportionate” discipline, in addition to prevention strategies, counseling, restorative justice and peer mentoring programs.

When a student gets in trouble, districts are supposed to consider factors including the child’s age, whether they have a disability, their disciplinary history, the seriousness of the violation, other punishment options and whether the actions threatened the safety of another student or teacher.

School districts were required before the 2012-13 school year to rewrite their discipline code, in order to comply with the act.

Thompson School District disagrees with the notion it hasn’t abandoned zero-tolerance practices. It updated its discipline policies in November to reflect SB 12-45, district spokesman Michael Hausmann said. Administrators have a “number of interventions that they may and do use.”

“I think it’s hard when new laws are enacted for every teacher and every district to know what those laws are,” but districts are responsible to know, Nikkel said.

This story reminds us that we have to think carefully and gather all the facts before we jump into the fray with both feet.  A child throws rocks, gets suspended and the parents claim it was an imaginary hand grenade.  The child, urged by the parents, lied about what happened.  The parents teaching their children to lie in order to get ahead in this world.  A lack of not only judgement, but of morals.

'Gun Culture' -- What About the 'Fatherless Culture'?

The face of gun violence is not Sandy Hook. It is Chicago.

In 2012, President Barack Obama's adopted hometown had 506 murders, including more than 60 children. Philadelphia, a city that local television newscasters frequently call 'Killadelphia," saw 331 killed last year. In Detroit, 386 people were murdered.

Since 1966, there have been 90 school shootings in the U.S., with 231 fatalities. Yes, Sandy Hook shocked us. But the odds of a child being killed at a school shooting are longer than the odds of being struck by lightning.

Of the 11,000 to 12,000 gun murders each year, more than half involve both black killers and black victims, mostly in urban areas and mostly gang-related. The No. 1 cause of preventable death for young black men is not auto accidents or accidental drowning, but homicide.

Rapper/actor Ice T ("Cop Killer") and I attended the same high school. In the 1991 John Singleton film "Boyz n the Hood," the teenagers attend that school, and car-cruise the South Central Los Angeles boulevard after which the school is named. Crenshaw High opened in 1968. By the time Ice-T left, less than a decade later, Crenshaw had become, in the rapper's words, "a Crip school" -- meaning one controlled by that street gang. Because of the school's reputation for violence, Time Magazine called it "Fort Crenshaw." A powerhouse in basketball and football, the school lost its accreditation 2005, before getting it back in 2006 on a short-term basis.

In 1970, I was part of the second graduating class in the new school's history. Some kids, who started with me in the 10th grade, did not finish. But it was the exception rather than the rule. By 2012, only 51 percent of Crenshaw's students graduated.

What happened?

Dads disappeared. Or, more precisely, to use Bill Cosby's term, the number of "unwed fathers" exploded.

In 1965, Daniel Patrick Moynihan wrote "The Negro Family: A Case for National Action." At the time, 25 percent of blacks children were born out of wedlock, a number Moynihan called alarming. Fast forward to the present, 72 percent of black children are now born out of wedlock. In fact, 36 percent of white children are born out of wedlock. Of Hispanic children, 53 percent are born outside of marriage.

In "Boyz n the Hood," Tre, played by Cuba Gooding Jr., has an active father in his life. Doughboy, played by Ice Cube, was raised without a father. His mother resents him because she dislikes his father. On the other hand, Gooding's hardworking, responsible father, played by Laurence Fishburne, stays on his son. He warns him against hanging out with the wrong people and that becoming a street criminal was a trap. He lectures his son that "any fool with a (penis) can make a baby, but only a real man can raise his children."

Studies show that children of divorced parents can have outcomes as positive as those coming from intact homes, provided the father remains financially supportive and active in his children's lives.

But what happens without dads in the 'hood?

In 1979, the National Longitudinal Survey of Youth found that fatherless kids were twice as likely to drop out of school and that girls who grew up without dads were 2.5 times more likely to become pregnant teenagers.

Rutgers University sociology professor David Popenoe published "Life Without Father" in 1996, where he describes the "massive erosion" of fathers in America. Popenoe concluded that boys raised without fathers were more likely to have problems with drugs, alcohol, behavior and social interactions. Several studies during the '90s found that disruption in family structures was a predictor of children's gang involvement.

Many on the left dismiss the importance of fathers as "right-wing," blame-the-victim propaganda. Well, the late rapper Tupac Shakur, in the posthumously released documentary "Resurrection," said: "I know fora fact that had I had a father, I'd have some discipline. I'd have more confidence." He admits that he starting hanging out with gangs because he wanted to belong to a family structure, and it offered structure, support and protection -- the kind of thing we once expected home and family to provide.

The formula for achieving middle-class success is simple: Finish high school; don't have a child before the age of 20; and get married before having the child. Preparing for the future requires dedication. It requires deferring gratification, precisely the kind of "discipline" that Tupac admitted he lacked because he grew up without a father.

Doing what you want to do is easy. Doing what you have to do is hard. Dads, by getting up and going to work each day, send a powerful message every day to their children: Hard work wins. There are no short cuts. The outcome is unknowable. But the effort is entirely within your control.

Just this last year, in 3 cities (Chicago, Detroit, Killadelphia Philadelphia) 1,223 people were murdered with guns.  47 times the number of deaths at Sandy Hook.  Yet to the loony liberals 20 dead white children are more important to their agenda than 60 dead black children murdered in Chicago.  Sandy Hook was an upper middle class enclave.  The streets of Chicago are the ghetto.  The lives of the upper middle class are more important, more vital to the nation than any person living in the ghetto.

Chicago, Detroit and Killadelphia Philadelphia all have strict gun control laws.  In fact Chicago has the strictest gun laws in the nation.  And Chicago has the most gun deaths in the nation.  Gun control doesn't work.  Those 3 cities are proving it every day.

Where are the so-called black leaders?  Where is Jesse Jackson, Al Sharpton?  Why are they not marching down the streets demanding that these boys stand up and become men?  Why are they not in the ghettos working to fix the problem?  Is it because there is no money in this problem?  Is it because they cannot accuse White people for this problem?

I fear that as we become more entrenched into a Nanny State the problem of Bastard Children and absent "Fathers" will become more and more prevalent.  In fact the language of the ghetto already reflects this idea in the name:  Baby Daddy.  In fact it is an apt name for these boys.  They cannot be called men, for they have no idea what manhood is and what the responsibilities that come with manhood.  Instead we have a bunch of boys who refuse to grow up.  While cute in a children's story is obscene in real life.

Gun Violence Reduction Executive Actions

Today, the President is announcing that he and the Administration will:

1. Issue a Presidential Memorandum to require federal agencies to make relevant data available to the federal background check system.

2. Address unnecessary legal barriers, particularly relating to the Health Insurance Portability and Accountability Act, that may prevent states from making information available to the background check system.

3. Improve incentives for states to share information with the background check system.

4. Direct the Attorney General to review categories of individuals prohibited from having a gun to make sure dangerous people are not slipping through the cracks.

5. Propose rule making to give law enforcement the ability to run a full background check on an individual before returning a seized gun.

6. Publish a letter from ATF to federally licensed gun dealers providing guidance on how to run background checks for private sellers.

7. Launch a national safe and responsible gun ownership campaign.

8. Review safety standards for gun locks and gun safes (Consumer Product Safety Commission).

9. Issue a Presidential Memorandum to require federal law enforcement to trace guns recovered in criminal investigations.

10. Release a DOJ report analyzing information on lost and stolen guns and make it widely available to law enforcement.

11. Nominate an ATF director.

12. Provide law enforcement, first responders, and school officials with proper training for active shooter situations.

13. Maximize enforcement efforts to prevent gun violence and prosecute gun crime.

14. Issue a Presidential Memorandum directing the Centers for Disease Control to research the causes and prevention of gun violence.

15. Direct the Attorney General to issue a report on the availability and most effective use of new gun safety technologies and challenge the private sector to develop innovative technologies.

16. Clarify that the Affordable Care Act does not prohibit doctors asking their patients about guns in their homes.

17. Release a letter to health care providers clarifying that no federal law prohibits them from reporting threats of violence to law enforcement authorities.

18. Provide incentives for schools to hire school resource officers.

19. Develop model emergency response plans for schools, houses of worship and institutions of higher education.

20. Release a letter to state health officials clarifying the scope of mental health services that Medicaid plans must cover.

21. Finalize regulations clarifying essential health benefits and parity requirements within ACA exchanges.

22. Commit to finalizing mental health parity regulations.

23. Launch a national dialogue led by Secretaries Sebelius and Duncan on mental health

If your doctor starts to question you about the guns you might have (or not have), the best answer to his/her question is:

"None of your damn business!"

It is not within your doctor's business about what you legally own.  Notice that the President doesn't want the doctor to ask how many video games you have and what type you play.  Or what movies you want.

If you are a doctor forget about asking this question.  It is none of your business.  Care for the physical problems of your patents and leave the rest alone.

Why is it that these idiots believe that it is the clips of ammo that cause the problem?  I have seen men and women change clips so fast that it didn't matter how many bullets were in the clip.

And 7 bullets is a recipe for disaster.  While the 2nd Amendment is not about hunting, I will bring this up.  I know hunters who have been treed by bears, mountain lions, etc...  7 bullets will not stop a determine carnivore.  In fact, 7 bullets will not bring down a Moose.  So much for allowing hunters to hunt.

The President will not be happy until he disarms every American.  Like every dictator he needs the American people to be disarmed so they cannot rise up and stop him.

I will not register my weapons should this bill be passed, as I do not believe it is the government’s right to know what I own. Nor do I think it prudent to tell you what I own so that it may be taken from me by a group of people who enjoy armed protection yet decry me having the same a crime. You ma’am have overstepped a line that is not your domain. I am a Marine Corps Veteran of 8 years, and I will not have some woman who proclaims the evil of an inanimate object, yet carries one, tell me I may not have one.

I am not your subject. I am the man who keeps you free. I am not your servant. I am the person whom you serve I am not your peasant. I am the flesh and blood of America.

I am the man who fought for my country. I am the man who learned. I am an American. You will not tell me that I must register my semi-automatic AR-15 because of the actions of some evil man.

I will not be disarmed to suit the fear that has been established by the media and your misinformation campaign against the American public.

We, the people, deserve better than you.

On December 29, 2012 I posted First They Came For The Guns... Detailing how Great Britain was working to remove all blades from the land longer than 3".  No carving knives, chef's knives, etc...  There were too many murders with them.  They are too dangerous for the population of the nation.  We need to remove them immediately.  Next it will be baseball and cricket bats.

Idiots like Al $harpton will disarm the whole population making us defenseless and helpless in the face of the government and criminals.  (There is a difference?)  Once they start with one weapon when will they stop?  Where will it stop?
