I Know Nothing!

We do not have adults running our nation.  We have children who blame others for their mistakes, their infractions.  It is the old "I didn't do it.  It was someone else."  I didn't allow or accept that from my children when they were young.  And I will not accept this from an adult.  Especially an adult who is suppose to the be the top lawman in the nation, Eric Holder.

The head of the U.S. Justice Department launched his strongest personal defense yet in the growing furor over Operation Fast and Furious, the controversial sting targeting Mexican drug cartels and American gunrunners.

On Wednesday, Attorney General Eric Holder said for the first time that not only he but also other higher-ups at the Justice Department were not aware of the operation as it was being carried out. Holder also suggested politics could be a driving force behind Republican lawmakers' forceful inquiries into the matter.

"The notion that somehow or other this thing reaches into the upper levels of the Justice Department is something that. ... I don't think is supported by the facts," Holder told reporters at an unrelated press conference in Washington. "It's kind of something I think certain members of Congress would like to see, the notion that somehow or other high-level people in the department were involved. As I said, I don't think that is going to be shown to be the case -- which doesn't mean that the mistakes were not serious."

A spokeswoman for the Republican leading a congressional investigation described Holder's comments as baseless "whining," and earlier Wednesday the House Republican himself said the issue is about more than who knew what, when.

"Whenever you talk about human mistakes, you have to say, 'What was in the system that allowed that human mistake to go on and perpetuate itself?'" Rep. Darrell Issa, R-Calif., chairman of the House Oversight Committee, said on Fox News Channel.

At issue is an Arizona operation launched in late 2009 by the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives, which planned to follow gun purchasers in hopes that suspects would lead investigators to the heads of Mexican cartels. But hundreds of high-powered rifles and other guns ended up in Mexico, and many now accuse ATF and the Justice Department of letting the guns "walk" even after safety concerns were raised.

Weapons linked to the program were used in a December attack along the Southwest Border that killed U.S. Border Patrol Agent Brian Terry. Months later, Issa launched his committee's investigation, as the Justice Department's inspector general also opened an inquiry, at Holder's direction.

"Our committee is the Government [Oversight and] Reform Committee," Issa said Wednesday. "We are about making sure that there is a system to prevent this in the future. When we have assurances that system is in place then our job is done."

But Holder seemed to question whether that is all Issa and other Republican critics are after.

"My hope would be that Congress will conduct an investigation that is factually based and not marred with politics," Holder said.

Holder has said repeatedly he was not aware of the operation as it was unfolding, and others have said no one at the Justice Department in Washington was informed of it, but Issa insists Holder at least "should have known."

"I believe it was his obligation to know, " Issa told Fox News in June. "The fact that there was a 'Don't Ask, Don't Tell' policy in Eric Holder's office is to say really he wasn't doing his job."

Holder, however, noted he leads a massive department with all sorts of functions and obligations

"There are an awful lot of things that go on in the Justice Department," he said. "There's Operation Fast and Furious, [and] I'm sure there's Operation 'Fill In The Blank' going on right now that the people here in the department are not aware of."

Holder said he, as head of the department, has tried to "place in the field the responsibility and the discretion for enforcement activities," while setting "broad parameters here in the department" that he expects to be followed outside of Washington.

Holder has repeatedly denounced the tactics used in Operation Fast and Furious, calling the operation Wednesday a "flawed enforcement effort."

Recently, the man who headed ATF in the midst of it, Ken Melson, was reassigned, and U.S. attorney Dennis Burke, who oversaw the prosecution of cases coming out of the operation, abruptly resigned.

Nevertheless, at least three men have been charged in connection with the murder of agent Terry, though only one is in U.S. custody. And the Justice Department recently informed lawmakers that cases coming out of Operation Fast and Furious will now be led by prosecutors from outside Arizona.

I remember the Watergate Hearings and scandal.  I remember it started with a 3rd rate burglary and ended up with the resignation of President Richard Nixon.  Nixon and his cohorts cried they didn't know about it.  Yet in the end the nation discovered the truth.  Our President was a crook.  And they will discover this truth again with Obama and his cronies.

The Strangling Of American Hospitals

That is what is happening in many of the smaller Hospitals in the United States these days.  So it is being reported by Dr. Thomas M. Hamilton MD, better known as The Grouch.

We had staff meeting yesterday at the hospital. A topic of discussion was RAC audits and a specific case affecting our hospital.

If you don't know what RAC audits are, do a Google Search on it and read about it for yourself. I betcha most of you have never heard of such a thing.

Anyway, I felt compelled to write my Congresswoman, Marsha Blackburn, and my two Senators, Bob Corker and Lamar Alexander over this issue. I know I'll probably get the standard form reply, but it made me feel better anyway. Here it is:

Dear Senator/Congresswoman:

I feel the need to make you aware of the serious situation created for small hospitals under the RAC (Recovery Audit Contractor) program created by Medicare.

I am a physician at our local hospital. During staff meeting yesterday, we discussed a situation concerning a recent surgical case. A patient had a lesion surgically removed. The doctor’s note read as follows, “an eleven blade scalpel was used to remove the lesion”.

The RAC auditor reviewed this chart and stated that the note should have read, “an eleven blade scalpel was used to EXCISE the lesion”.

Because the word REMOVE was used instead of the word EXCISE, the RAC auditor declared that the hospital should refund Medicare an amount of $11,000. The hospital appealed and pointed out to the auditor that there was essentially no difference in the words EXCISE and REMOVE. To no avail, the auditor stated the hospital owed Medicare $11,000.

Senator/Congresswoman, these RAC audits are an exercise in pure lunacy. I hope you can see the obvious stupidity imposed on hospitals by the intrusion of the United States Government by this example above. I would also hope that you would take steps to relieve us of the burden of these nonsensical RAC audits. If you don’t, many hospitals like ours simply will not survive and will end up closing the doors.

It is my understanding that the bureaucrats involved in the RAC audits are entitled to a third of the funds they recover from hospitals. So out of that $11,000 dollars they are squeezing from our hospital over the definition of a single word, the auditors themselves stand to collect $3666.66 for themselves. Senator/Congresswoman, can you truly believe that hospitals will be treated fairly under such a system? If a private entity conducted itself in a manner similar to the RAC auditors, the people in that entity would be jailed.

Of course if Barack Obama has his way we will end up with single payer health care for all which will no doubt be broke like Social Security and Medicare. More and more hospitals will close. So much for universal health care.

Right now our hospital makes about 46 cents for every dollar billed to Medicare. We make 24 cents for every dollar billed to Tenncare (Tennessee Medicaid). I am told under the proposed Medicare cuts and RAC audits we can see our reimbursement fall to 32 cents for every dollar billed to Medicare. You can see we are slowly but surely being strangled by Uncle Sam. Our doctors, nurses, and other hospital staff work hard to provide health care to some very old and very sick people. We deserve honest payment for our efforts rather than a bunch of shenanigans invented by Medicare designed to avoid payment.

Senator/Congresswoman, I implore you to look into this thing called RAC audits. Talk to your constituents in the health care field. They will tell you the same thing I am telling you. We are being strangled by this government nonsense.

I am looking for a personal and thoughtful reply from you on this matter, not the usual form reply provided by a staffer.

I find it troubling that the "auditor" receives a "reward" of 1/3 of all monies collected, thus discouraging a true audit of books since it is in the auditor's best interest to "find" fault in every search.

Thus the word Excise, meaning to cut out or off, as a tumor. And the word Remove, meaning to take away, withdraw, or eliminate is not considered equal in intent.  This auditor has taken it upon his/herself to become the standard exemplary of the English Language.

This is only one example of what is happening now and will happen when Obamacare is implemented in its full force.

Is it no wonder that thousands of doctors are planning to leave the profession.  Where will the government find their replacements?

Will a doctor trained in one of those nations instill confidence in you?

I'm Shocked! A Corrupt Illinois Politician!

I live just outside of Chicago, so the idea of an Illinois politician that isn't corrupt to the core, shocks me. So when I read this, I wasn't surprised in the least.

Sen. Roland Burris promised to "personally do something" for Rod Blagojevich's campaign fund while pressing for the then-Illinois governor to appoint him to President Obama's former Senate seat, according to a wiretap transcript released Tuesday.
"Tell Rod to keep me in mind for that seat, would ya?" Burris tells Robert Blagojevich, who headed his brother's campaign fund, in a Nov. 13 phone conversation secretly taped by the FBI.

The remark came after Robert Blagojevich urged Burris to "keep me in mind and you know if you guys can just write checks that'd be fine, if we can't find a way for you to tie in."

"Okay, okay, well we, we, I, I will personally do something, okay," Burris says.

Earlier in the conversation, Burris and Robert Blagojevich explored the possibility that Burris might raise campaign money on a larger scale.

"I know I could give him a check," Burris said. "Myself."

Burris repeatedly said he wanted to help but added that major fundraising would have "so many negative connotations that Burris is trying to buy an appointment from the governor."

The transcript was released after U.S. District Chief Judge James F. Holderman approved making it available to the U.S. Senate ethics committee for its preliminary investigation of Burris's appointment.

If he wasn't buying the appointment, why ask for money in the first place? Too bad Jesse Jackson Jr. didn't raise the $1 million that sources near the former governor said he asked for. Then Burris would still be in the Illinois State House and Jackson would be governor.

The new senator has been under intense scrutiny since he was appointed by the now-ousted governor in December, and for changing his story multiple times about whether he promised anything in exchange for it. The ethics committee began a preliminary investigation into how Burris got his job, and the Sangamon County State's Attorney was asked to determine whether perjury charges were warranted.

Burris opens the wiretapped conversation by telling Robert Blagojevich: "I know you're calling telling me that you're gonna make me king of the world.

"And therefore I can go off to, you know, wherever and do all these great things," Burris adds. He says that he has "been trying to figure out what the heck, you know, I can do."

"We've had a number of conversations about, you know, anything you might be able to do," Robert Blagojevich says a moment later.

Burris says he is concerned about how fundraising on his part would be viewed if he got the Senate seat.

"And I'm trying to figure out how to deal with this and still be in the consideration for the appointment," he says.

"I hear ya," says Robert Blagojevich. "No, I hear ya."

The then-governor was arrested Dec. 9 on charges of scheming to sell or trade the Senate seat Obama was vacating and using the political muscle of the governor's office to squeeze people involved in state business for campaign contributions.

Here is what actually happened:

Barack Obama won the election for President on Nov. 7.

Ron Blagojevich decides that he can make a fast buck or three selling Obama's Senate Seat.

Ron Blagojevich sends his brother Robert to start the bidding.

Roland Burris wins said bidding war (no one knows exactly how much he had to pay to get it).

Ron Blagojevich was thrown out of office.

Senators Dick Durban (D, Il) and Harry Reid (D, Nev) demand that Burris come clean about his dealings with Blagojevich and swear that he never paid for the Senate seat.

Roland Burris swore that he was squeaky clean in this matter by swearing on a stack of bibles.

The stack of Bibles he swore upon.

Durban and Reid accepted Burris into the Senate.

Burris became the Junior Senator from Illinois.

No bribes were given, no crime was committed. Right!

What the nation is seeing is Illinois (Chicago) Politics at work. A political system destined to give the citizens of Chicago and Illinois the best government money can buy. Just not their money.

Funny how after the election in November all the dirt that is on and surrounds President-Elect Barack Obama is coming to the surface. I guess that he didn't hide it deep enough.

During the election we heard about Rev. Wright, Bill Ayers, Tony Rezko and ACORN. Now it is the on-going saga of Illinois Governor Rod Blagojevich.

The governor has been indicted on conspiracy to commit mail fraud and wire fraud, as well as soliciting bribes. He is accused of trying to sell the vacant Senate seat of Barack Obama to the highest bidder. He has been a subject of a Federal investigation for years, including being subject to a wire tap of his phone. And the tapes show a link to the incoming President.

President-elect Barack Obama's incoming chief of staff Rahm Emanuel had a deeper involvement in pressing for a U.S. Senate seat appointment than previously reported, the Sun-Times has learned. Emanuel had direct discussions about the seat with Gov. Blagojevich, who is is accused of trying to auction it to the highest bidder.

Emanuel talked with the governor in the days following the Nov. 4 election and pressed early on for the appointment of Valerie Jarrett to the post, sources with knowledge of the conversations told the Sun-Times. There was no indication from sources that Emanuel brokered a deal, however.

A source with the Obama camp strongly denied Emanuel spoke with the governor directly about the seat, saying Emanuel only spoke with Blagojevich once recently to say he was taking the chief of staff post. But sources with knowledge of the investigation said Blagojevich told his aides about the calls with Emanuel and sometimes gave them directions afterward. Sources said that early on, Emanuel pushed for the appointment of Jarrett to the governor and his staff and asked that it be done by a certain date.

At least some of the conversations between Emanuel and Blagojevich were likely caught on tape, sources said.

The duties of a Chief of Staff is to run interference for your boss. The Chief of Staff does nothing without the President's knowledge and okay. It has now come out that Emanuel has been talking to Blagojevich and that a few of the conversations were taped.

I am reminded of Watergate and what brought Nixon down. That started with a 3rd rate burglary, a cover-up by White House staff, and the eventual resignation of President Nixon. This could go the same way. A discredited governor (Blago), a crooked neighbor (Rezko), a candidate for the Senate seat (Jackson Jr.) and a Chief of Staff (Emanuel) all singing a pretty song to the Feds for an deal to keep them out of prison. Which will lead to a sitting President fulfilling his office behind bars in a Federal Penitentiary.

Now that would be a first!

I’m not sure how, but the Obama’s managed to procure a Fannie Mae/Freddie Mac mortage $903,000 over the legal limit.


While researching an article about Obama’s Chicago home about the circumstances surrounding who is the “owner”, I happened across a bit of information: Obama’s home has a Fannie Mae-Freddie Mac mortgage to the tune of $1,320,000. (Page 5 of Cook County Property Assessment Record)

The information comes from the Cook County Clerk’s office where the “owner” of the Obama home is listed as William Miceli, a former supervisor of Obama’s when he worked at the David Law Firm.
What’s unusual about the Obama mortgage is that the upper limits of a Fannie Mae loan on a single family dwelling as of January, 2008, is $417,000 while mortgages in “high cost” areas cannot exceed $729,750.

The Obama’s mortage, through Northern Trust Company, is in the amount of $1,320,000.

The limits for a Freddie Mac single family dwelling is $417,000, with an upper tier of $625,500 for homes located in Alaska, Hawaii, the Virgin Islands, and Guam.

I wonder what shenanigans the Obama's did to get this deal? I know thousands of people who have been turned down for mortgages due to the fact that the home they wanted to buy was over the limit that Freddie Mac established. Nor is it any wonder that Franklin Raines, the former chairman of Fannie Mae is an financial advisor to Barack Obama. Raines who orchestrated the Sub-prime disaster that the nation is facing.

This comes out at the same time that the Blagojevich scandal is heating up. With the news that Rahm Emanuel had connected Blagojevich in regards to Obama's Senate Seat. Each day it seems another scandal is brewing with Obama.

The Media has ignored all these connections, cheering behind the empty suit that has been elected. Now they are seeing the truth, that what they have supported and advanced is nothing more than another corrupt Chicago politician.

This is change that we really do not need!

A Standing Army for the UN?

This is not a new proposal, but it has some high powered support in Congress now. In the 1950's and 60's this would have been a good idea, the UN wasn't a hotbed of scandal and corruption. But today the opposite is true.

The United Nations Peacekeeping Forces come in 2 flavors.

The first flavor are the member forces of the Civilized World. They have done a great job in keeping the peace and providing security for refugees and other civilians since the 1950's and the Korean War. Unfortunately, the nations that are members of this flavor have decided not to send troops to the UN any longer. They became tired of the job and the expense of the job. In doing that, the Blue Berets were then forced to rely on the second flavor.

The second flavor are the member forces from the developing and Muslim world. They are known for corruption, scandal and rape. Their idea of peacekeeping is to bribe and extort what they can get out of the refugees and civilians they are suppose to protect. These are the current Peacekeepers in the world. And they have given the Blue Berets a very black eye.

With our knowledge of this, why would anyone propose a permanent army for the UN? Who in their right mind would do this?

Crisis management experts are calling for the creation of a "United Nations army” – an international rapid reaction force that could be deployed within 48 hours to intervene in emergency situations around the globe.

Composed of up to 15,000 military, police and civilian staff, including medics, the proposed force would be recruited from professionals hired by the U.N. from many countries, and based at designated U.N. sites.

Its actions would be authorized by the U.N. Security Council, according to the Toronto Star.

"It's not a new idea, but it has now come into its own," said Peter Langille of University of Western Ontario, one of the major contributors to the book "A United Nations Emergency Peace Service: To Prevent Genocide and Crimes Against Humanity,” which will be presented at the U.N. on Friday.

"With countries moving away from U.N. peacekeeping, and troops overstretched in countries like Afghanistan and Iraq, (the rapid reaction force) has new appeal."

Again the left try to do something good for the world without thinking out the whole ramifications. Who do they think will man this force and who will pay for it.

The new emergency force could cost $2 billion to establish, less than the wars that have plagued Africa and Asia in recent years. "A U.N. agency would for the first time in history offer a rapid, comprehensive, internationally legitimate response to crisis, enabling it to save hundreds of thousands of lives and billions of dollars through early and often preventive action," the book states.

And we all know who will pay the $2 billion. The United States! Why not? We must have an extra couple of billion dollars thrown around somewhere.

And of course there are some in Congress who actually support this idea.

Bob Alexander (D-MI 08), Daniel Seals (D-IL 10), Stephen Todd Sarvi (D-MN 02), Darcy Burner (D-WA 08), Tom Udall (D-NM), Jill Morgenthaler (D-IL 06), Jigar Ashwin Madia (D-MN 03), Linda Stender (D-NJ 07), Gerry Connolly (D-VA 11), Jeanne Shaheen (D-NH), Thomas Perriello (D-VA 05), Eric Massa (D-NY 29).

Let us call them the Dirty Dozen. They refuse to see how the UN has become a cesspool of corruption and scandal. They refuse to see how the once proud Peacekeepers have become nothing more than a gang of thugs and rapists. And yet they would allow these thugs to be a rapid response force. I guess they have to get them there fast before all the virgins are gone.

Here's a trick question to ask those who think that this is a good idea:

You support the UNEPS, a standing military force for the United Nations that could be used in places like Darfur. Couldn't it also be used in case of a natural disaster inside the U.S. where our resources are strapped, such as in case of a terrorist attack or something like Katrina?

If this idea scares you, you are not alone.
It would be too scary to contemplate.

Still More Corruption at the UN

Founded in 1971 out of the Expanded Programme of Technical Assistance and the United Nations Special Fund, the United Nations Development Program (UNDP) has been cited for mismanagement and corruption by its own internal investigators.

The United Nations Development Program was a good idea at one time. It was to help nations become Democracies (I wonder how they actually got that one passed the dictators), try to reduce the effects of war and poverty (they haven't been very successful with this either), help developing nations find environmentally friendly ways to develop (just looking at China and their pollution problem shows how ineffective they are), and help nations with the further spreading of HIV/AIDS and reduce its impact.

This wouldn't be news, except that the mismanagement is widely known to UN officials who overlook the corruption as the cost of doing business at the UN.

In a confidential report obtained by FOX News, UNDP’s auditors have described the UNDP procurement organization that is spending well over $2 billion annually as:

— overwhelmed by its caseload at headquarters and in the field, while procurement ballooned from $800 million in 2003 to $2.5 billion in 2006 and $2.2 billion last year;

— often failing to provide plans to support its buying activities, which the report says causes many purchases of goods and services to be carried out on an "ad hoc basis" (in fact, more than $595 million worth of non-existent purchases were recorded, although the audit notes that they were not paid for);

— wallowing in shoddy paperwork and faulty bidding processes, which contributed to a "high number of waivers of the competitive process and to quality problems in the procurement process in general";

— lacking the expertise to evaluate hundreds of millions of dollars worth of its most expensive and important purchases in civic construction and high-tech communications;

— drastically unqualified: Fully half of the organization’s procurement staff around the world were not certified for the basic requirements of their jobs, while the auditors also found the six-hour course for those who were certified to be "inadequate." Additionally, the auditors noted, "there are entire offices without a single certified buyer";

— suffering from an "apparent" conflict of interest at the top, where the people charged with vetting the procurement process for flaws are also members of the procurement office staff.

But then again it is not their money that they are spending. It is mostly American money. That makes it ok. Again corruption has enveloped what was once a good idea.

Even more ominously, the same auditors point out that UNDP:

— has no sure way of knowing whether it is doing business with organizations that the U.N. itself has condemned for terrorist ties and says UNDP country offices find the current manual system of cross-checking with U.N. terrorist sanctions lists to be "cumbersome and inefficient";

— has no formal policy for suspending or removing vendors for poor performance or corruption;

— and doesn’t ask new vendors for the identity of their owners or other corporate ties. This raises the possibility that vendors caught out for corruption or poor performance could simply switch names and reapply for approved status.

And of course all the vendors really would have to do is bribe the right official. That has been the UN policy since the 1970's.

But this isn't the only corruption to come to light today. The UN has become a center for pedophilia in the world.

The United Nations will investigate allegations by a leading children's charity that UN peacekeepers were involved in widespread sexual abuse of children, Secretary General Ban Ki Moon said.

The report, released Tuesday by Save the Children UK, was based on field research in southern Sudan, Ivory Coast and Haiti. It describes a litany of sexual crimes committed by peacekeepers and international relief workers against children as young as 6 years old.

Abuses have been reported in peacekeeping missions ranging from Bosnia and Kosovo to Cambodia, East Timor, West Africa and Congo. The issue moved into the spotlight after the United Nations found in early 2005 that peacekeepers in Congo had sex with Congolese women and girls, usually in exchange for food or small sums of money.

Several month later, Jordan's UN ambassador at the time, Prince Zeid al-Hussein, wrote a report that described the UN military arm as deeply flawed. He recommended withholding the salaries of the guilty and requiring nations to pursue legal action against perpetrators.

And we do know what legal action they will receive. None! They don't get their pay and they get a pat on the wrist back home. What a joke.

In response, the UN adopted a zero tolerance policy toward sexual exploitation and abuse, and a universal code of conduct. The UN requires training for all peacekeepers, but punishment for offenders is left to individual countries.

Training for nations like Pakistan, Bangladesh, Jordan, Nigeria, and Ghana. All models for the sexual exploitation of children. Nations where women and girls have no rights or freedoms. Such a good group to defend the helpless refugees of the world.

With corruption such as these examples are the question has to be asked: Is the United Nations relevant in today's world? Does the world really need such an organization? I'm afraid that the answer is no. The United Nations has no place in this world. The United Nations has caused more problems than it has solved. It is a hotbed of corruption and greed.

It is time that the United States and its allies take a long hard look at the United Nations. It is time that they start the move to remove themselves from this organization and build an organization dedicated to the ideals of Freedom and Democracy. A place where the dictators of the world cannot push their ideas of corruption, greed and hatred on the larger world.

It is time for the US to be rid of the UN!

The Time Has Come

What started with high ideals and lofty aspirations, has become a hotbed of corruption and scandal.

In 1945 the victorious Allies who fought against the horrors of Nazi Germany and Japan sat down and wrote a charter for a new organization to help the world prevent another World War. This time they thought they would get it right and not make the mistakes that the League of Nations made. And for a while they did get it right. The founders insisted that all nations follow certain rules of behavior. Rules that all civilized nations follow. They put a stop to North Korean aggression of the South, tried to make a civil agreement for the partition and disposition of the Palestine question, tried to halt the violence between India and Pakistan, and helped rebuild the world after the horrors of World War 2.

This organization did some wonderful things in its beginnings. Under WHO (World Health Organization) the eradication of Small Pox was achieved.

But the good has been destroyed by the corruption and scandal that has plagued the UN since the 1970's. And the UN can get away with it because there is no oversite of the organization. The founders were so sure that the best and most honest people would be part of the UN that they forgot to put in any checks and balances into the charter. That is a shame. For then the UN would be a truly worthwhile organization. Instead we got:

Food for Oil: The oil-for-food program began as a humanitarian plan to soften the sanctions against Saddam Hussein's Iraq. The U.N. would allow Iraq to sell a certain amount of oil each year, provided that the profits were used to buy food, medicine and other necessities for Iraq's people.

Instead, the oil was allotted to politically connected insiders, allegedly including the head of the oil program himself. The insiders got rich while Iraq's people suffered. One beneficiary of the program was U.N. Secretary-General Kofi Annan's own son, who was employed by a firm that played a key role in the scandal-plagued program.

The word for that is Nepotism. Having your own son make a small fortune at the expense of needy people. And taking kickbacks from it yourself. Does the UN throw the bum out. No, they praise him and he gets a Nobel Award.

Sexual Scandals: LAST MONTH A CLASSIFIED UNITED Nations report prompted Secretary General Kofi Annan to admit that U.N. peacekeepers and staff have sexually abused or exploited war refugees in the Democratic Republic of Congo. The worst of the 150 or so allegations of misconduct--some of them captured on videotape--include pedophilia, rape, and prostitution. While a U.N. investigation into the scandal continues, the organization has just suspended two more peacekeepers in neighboring Burundi over similar charges. The revelations come three years after another U.N. report found "widespread" evidence of sexual abuse of West African refugees.

Allegations of sexual abuse or misconduct by U.N. staff stretch back at least a decade, to operations in Kosovo, Sierra Leone, Liberia, and Guinea. A 2001 report, released by the U.N. High Commissioner for Refugees (UNHCR) and Save the Children, found that sexual violence against refugees in West Africa was endemic (though some of its findings were denied by a subsequent U.N. team). A year later a coalition of religious organizations sent a letter to Secretary of Secretary of State Colin Powell urging the United States to send more human rights monitors into Congo. The U.N. then introduced a "code of conduct" to help prevent future abuses, including prohibitions against sexual activity between staff and children and the exchange of money or food for sex.

The UN takes a Boys will be Boys approach to the issue of rape. After all, most member nations believe that a woman is asking for it. And the offending parties cannot be held accountable by the UN, charges can only be brought up against them in their home nations. How convenient. In other words: No charges, no punishment. But that is how the United Nations works.

Everyday operations are based on corruption: Now the issue is becoming the scale of corruption in the U.N.'s normal operations — and which individuals and corporations are reaping the benefits of a network of bribery and conspiracy that investigators have just begun to uncover. So far, those identities are still a mystery — but perhaps not for much longer.

Want to make a bet on how long the corruption will stay a mystery? I wouldn't bet the farm on ever finding out this one.

Then we get this story of how the best of intentions in Lebanon gets corrupted.

UNIFIL helps murder 2 Israeli Soldiers:

On October 7, 2000, Hezbollah terrorists entered Israel, attacked three Israeli soldiers on Mount Dov, and abducted them Lebanon. The kidnapping was witnessed by several dozen UNIFIL soldiers who stood idle. One of the soldier witnesses described the kidnapping: the terrorists set of an explosive which stunned the Israeli soldiers. Clad in UN uniforms, the terrorists called out, "Come, come, we’ll help you."

The Israeli soldiers approached the men in UN uniforms. Then, a Hezbollah bomb detonated—-apparently prematurely. It wounded the disguised Hezbollah commander, and three Israeli soldiers.

Two other terrorists in U.N. uniforms dragged their Hezbollah commander and the three wounded soldiers into a getaway car.

According an Indian solider in UNIFIL who witnessed the kidnapping, "By this stage, there was a big commotion and dozens of UN soldiers from the Indian brigade came around." The witness stated that the brigade knew that the kidnappers in UN uniform were Hezbollah. One soldiers said that the brigade should arrest the Hezbollah, but the brigade did nothing.

According to the Indian soldier, the UNFIL brigade in the area "could have prevented the kidnapping."

"I’m very sorry about what happened, because we saw what happened," he said. Hezbollah "were wearing our uniforms and it was too bad we didn’t stop them."

It appears that at least four of the UNIFIL "peacekeepers," all from India, has received bribes from Hezbollah in order to assist the kidnapping by helping them get to the kidnapping spot and find the Israeli soldiers. Some of the bribery involved alcohol and Lebanese women.

The Indian brigade later had a bitter internal argument, as some members complained that the brigade had betrayed its peacekeeping mandate. An Indian government investigation sternly criticized the brigade's conduct.

There is evidence of far greater payments by Hezbollah to the UNIFIL Indian brigade, including hundreds of thousands of dollars for assistance in the kidnapping and cover-up.

The UN cover-up began almost immediately.

Lebanon's The Daily Star reported the story told by a former officer of the Observer Group Lebanon (OGL), which is part of the UN Truce Supervision Organization (UNTSO). ("UN 'destroyed' evidence after abduction of 3 Israeli troops," The Daily Star, July 20, 2001.)

A few hours after the kidnapping, UNTSO learned that two abandoned cars had been discovered. One was a white Nissan Pathfinder with fake UN insignia; it had hit an embankment because it was being driven so fast that the driver missed a turn. The other was a Range Rover; it was missing a tire rim, and was still running when it was discovered.

Rather than using the very-recently-abandoned vehicles as clues to rescue the kidnap victims, the UN initiated a cover-up. The next morning, eighteen hours after the kidnapping, a team of OGL and the Indian UNIFIL began removing the contents of the cars.

The Range Rover was soaked with blood. Among the contents of the vehicles may have been a cell phone belonging to the terrorists. The UNTSO officer confirmed that the cars contained "extremely sensitive" items which included "current and relevant information that could have been easily linked to the incident."

On January 29, 2004, the bodies of the murdered Israelis were returned to Israel by Hezbollah, as part of a prisoner exchange.

In the US all the above actions would be considered criminal activities and would result in heavy sentences for the parties involved. At the UN, it was business as usual.

But corruption and scandal are not the only degenerations that has happened a the UN. It has become a center of anti-Semitism for the world. From the early days until the 1970's the UN has fought for Human Rights and Human Dignity. But since the 1970's the members of the Arab League have been able to pass resolution after resolution condemning Israel for Human Rights Violations, yet not one resolution has ever been passed that condemned any Arab or Muslim nation for their violations of Basic Human Rights. Not one. They call it anti-Zionism. That is just a new name for an old hatred: anti-Semitism. And it is rampant in the UN.

Just a few examples:

Has the UN ever condemned any Muslim nation for the lack of women's rights? NO!

Does the UN address the genocide that occurred in Bosnia, Cambodia, Ethiopia, Rwanda, East Timor, Kurdistan, Angola, Zaire, Liberia, Sierra Leone, and Darfur? NO!

The UN Human Rights Council is too busy with a world-wide food shortage that they have no time to address the suffering of people of Myanmar. Even though weeks after a cyclone has hit the nation, the ruling Junta still will not allow basic supplies, medical and rescue personal into the nations. Does the UN do anything? NO!

In 2000 held a Conference at Durban, South Africa to address the issue of racism. Did they succeed in addressing the problem? NO! It was only used to condemn Israel and only Israel. And next year they will be repeating the same Lovefest again.

The world has seen that time and time again the UN has become nothing more than a Tower of Babel. Words are spoken, but no action is done.

G-d destroyed the last Tower of Babel. Man will have to destroy this one. For many Heaven help us if G-d did show His wrath.
