Muslim Persecution of Christians: March, 2013

U.S. Defends "Human Rights" of Persecutors of Christians

Sweden to send Iranian Christian asylum seekers back to Iran to be tortured and possibly executed for the crime of leaving Islam. Also, the Nigerian government recently did go on the offensive to try to contain the jihadis [of Boko Haram], only to be chastised by U.S. Secretary of State John Kerry, saying he was "concerned by credible allegations that the Nigerian security forces are committing gross human rights violations" against the jihadi mass murderers.
The Islamic jihad against Christians in Nigeria is proving to be the most barbaric. A new report states that 70% of Christians killed around the world in 2012 were killed in that African nation. Among some of the atrocities committed in March alone, at least 41 people were killed in a suicide bomb attack at a bus station in a predominantly Christian neighborhood. According to the Christian Association of Nigeria, these attacks "were a signpost of the intended extermination of Christians and Christianity from northern Nigeria."

According to the Rev. Jerome Ituah, "Out of the 52 Catholic churches in Maiduguri diocese, 50 of them have been destroyed by [terrorist group] Boko Haram. When two Christian brothers were returning home after Sunday church service, jihadis opened fire on them with machine guns, killing the brothers, as well as three others, and injuring several more Christians."

Another 13 Christian factory workers in Kano were "gruesomely" slain. According to the local bishop, "Reports of the attack reaching us disclosed that on that fateful Saturday at about 7 p.m, Muslim faithful were conducting their prayer close to the affected compound occupied by Christian families, when two taxi cabs stopped in front of the compound and the occupants, who all concealed their arms, dashed into the complex and demanded to know why the residents were not part of the 7 p.m. Muslim prayer. They responded by telling the visitors they were Christians and so could not be part of the Muslim gathering. At that point, they separated the men from their wives and children and shot them dead on the spot after ordering the women and children into their homes" to be enslaved.

The bishop added that, "government should show more concern, like it has always done when Muslims are affected; I have not seen that in the case of Christians—that 13 Christians were killed in one straight attack and nothing is heard from the government reflects selective justice because we are aware of compensation paid to Muslim families in situations of this nature."

However, the Nigerian government recently did go on the offensive to try to contain the jihadis in northern Nigeria—only to be chastised, according to Reuters, by the Obama administration, in the person of U.S. Secretary of State John Kerry, "in a strongly worded statement, saying: "We are… deeply concerned by credible allegations that the Nigerian security forces are committing gross human rights violations….." against the jihadi mass murderers.

Categorized by theme, the rest of March's Muslim persecution of Christians around the world includes (but is not limited to) the following accounts, listed by theme and in country alphabetical order, not necessarily according to severity:

Church Attacks

Egypt: According to El Watan News, three Christian brothers were shot dead at their home by automatic weapons a few weeks before two of them were set to have their weddings. The victims' family was earlier accused of trying to build a church on land they owned after purchasing building material to build a house on that land. The rumors about the building of a church spread during the Friday sermon at the mosque, following which, 2,000 Muslims stormed the land and tried to destroy the house, a car and a tractor, resulting in the murder of the three Christian brothers.

Indonesia: Authorities demolished a church building with a bulldozer in West Java, even as Muslim bystanders cheered and denounced Christians as "infidels." According to Pastor Leonard Nababan, the government is "criminalising our religion." The congregation had gathered around the church in an effort to save it; so did Muslims, shouting, "They're infidels and they've built their church without permission;" "Knock the church down now," and "Allahu Akbar"["Allah is Greater"].

Iraq: According to Fox News, before the U.S. invasion of Iraq, there were more than 300 Christian churches. Today, a decade after a jihad was unleashed on Christians and their churches, only 57 Christian churches remain in the nation. And "The churches that remain are frequent targets of Islamic extremists, who have driven nearly a million Christians out of the land..." An Iraqi-based human rights organization said that, "The last 10 years have been the worst for Iraqi Christians because they bore witness to the biggest exodus and migration in the history of Iraq…. More than two-thirds [of Christians] have emigrated." One of the most dramatic cases of Christian persecution came in late October of 2010, when Al Qaeda members laid siege to Our Lady of Deliverance Church in Baghdad, killing 58 and wounding 78. According to an AP report , "Iraq's Catholic Christians flocked to churches to celebrate Easter Sunday [in March], praying, singing and rejoicing in the resurrection of Christ behind high blast walls and tight security cordons… [emphasis added]."

Libya: A Coptic Christian church in Benghazi was attacked by armed Muslims. The jihadis severely beat and shaved the beard and mustache of Father Paul, the priest of the church, as a sign of humiliation. They also beat the deacon and nine attendees. Meanwhile, because Egypt's Muslim Brotherhood-led government had done little to restrain the systematic abuse of Egyptian citizens in Libya, including the murder of one under torture, Copts demonstrated in front of the Libyan embassy in Cairo—prompting yet another attack on the Benghazi church, which was set on fire.

Pakistan: In response to one Christian man accused of blaspheming Islam's prophet, thousands of Muslims attacked the Christian Joseph Colony of Lahore. They burned two churches, one Catholic, the other Seventh Day Adventist, as often happens in Pakistan, in the context of collectively punishing Christians.

Sudan: According to Morning Star News, Khartoum's jihad continues to "rid the area of non-Arabs and Christianity": the Evangelical Church in the Nuba was "reduced … to ashes" after an aerial bombardment. Days later, another bombing campaign in the Christian-majority region left two dead and twelve injured. "These bombardments," said a church leader, "are major sources of fear among the people in South Kordofan."

Turkey: The 5th century Studios Monastery, dedicated to St. John the Baptist, is set to go from being a branch of the Hagia Sophia -- Christianity's grandest cathedral, which was transformed into a mosque after the Islamic conquest, and is currently a museum -- to being an active mosque. Many Turkish Muslims continue calling for the return of the Hagia Sophia itself to a mosque.

Apostasy, Blasphemy, Proselytism

Holland: A 43-year-old Iranian Muslim convert to Christianity was found murdered. According to the Farsi Christian News Network, the victim went to church the afternoon he was killed: "The shocking news of this senseless murder has brought grief and sorrow to the local Christians, Iranian-Christian community, and asylum seekers across the country." Christians constitute a large percentage of the Iranians seeking asylum in the Netherlands. (Islamic Sharia law calls for the killing of apostates; in the Islamic world, converts to Christianity are regularly targeted.)

Iran: During a major conference, a Shi'ite leader claimed that Islam was under attack by Christianity in Iran: "Christian booklets and brochures are being sent to people's doors for free in many areas…. Christianity is being preached in many shops in the Islamic city of Mashhad. Also Christian booklets are sent to people's addresses without restrictions." But a Mohabat News spokesperson said, "Of course, the Islamic cleric did not provide any supporting evidence for his claim. However, it seems their sole purpose in bringing up and repeating these claims is to provoke security authorities against, and provide the means for increased pressure on Iranian Christians converts."[sic]

Kazakhstan: Vyacheslav Cherkasov , a Christian street evangelist, was detained for offering Christian literature to passersby and fined the equivalent of one month's wages on charges of "violating the rules" regarding "importing, publishing and distribution of religious literature," which came into force in 2011. The court ordered the destruction of his 121 pieces of Christian literature, including Bibles and children's Bibles, in the first such ruling since the nation gained independence from the Soviet Union in 1991. Local Council of Churches Baptists said in published remarks, "We were shocked—this is sacrilege and illegality."

Pakistan: The blasphemy case against Rimsha Masih, the 14-year-old Christian girl, who was earlier arrested for "blasphemy" when a Muslim cleric falsely claimed that she burned a Koran, has been reopened. According to a BosNewsLife report, "A police investigator asked the Supreme Court in Islamabad to reopen the case" against the Christian girl, "saying he was pressured by the government to drop charges against her after an international outcry." Her family and she are currently in hiding. A court is also considering a death sentence against 47-year-old Martha Bibi, a Christian and mother, due to alleged "derogatory remarks" about Muslim prophet Muhammad. Another Christian man was arrested after a Muslim accused him of blasphemy. But his arrest was not enough to appease the 3,000-strong mob that went on to punish collectively the nation's Christians -- burning two churches and some 200 Christian homes, and stealing the Christians' property.

Somalia: Muslim militants murdered another Christian, Ahmed Ali Jimale, 42, who was killed by two men as he stood outside his house, near a police station. Among other charges, the man was accused of apostasy—on the widespread assumption that all Somalis are born Muslims—and, because he worked as a teacher, of "introducing the children to foreign Christian religion." Muslim militants had warned him that, "We shall come for your head." A friend of the slain said, "Jimale was a good man who helped our community. His widow is very scared and afraid, not knowing what will happen." He also leaves behind four children, ages 10, 8, 6, and 4.

Dhimmitude
[General Abuse and Suppression of Non-Muslims as "Tolerated" Citizens]

Egypt: Muslim rioters in the town of Kom Ombo threw firebombs and rocks at police after Friday mosque prayers in an effort to storm a church in which they claimed a Muslim woman who converted to Christianity was hiding. Violence began when a 36 year-old Muslim woman, who had been missing for five days, was allegedly seen outside the church with a female Christian friend. Days later, hundreds of Muslims marched in the town of al-Wasta, to protest the disappearance of another young Muslim girl and accuse the priest of St. George's Church of using "black magic" to lure her to Christianity. They hurled stones at the church; Coptic shops were forced to close down; Salfis threatened to kidnap a Christian girl if their Muslim girl did not return. However, Watani newspaper had already reported that the Muslim girl sent her family an open letter, posted on the Internet, saying that she ran away because she was sexually abused by her uncles, as well as forced to marry a man she did not want, and that she had left Egypt and was married to a Muslim man. Unrelatedly, a Fox News report states that "Islamic hard-liners stormed a mosque in suburban Cairo, turning it into torture chamber for Christians who had been demonstrating against the ruling Muslim Brotherhood in the latest case of violent persecution that experts fear will only get worse." According to a Voice of Russia report, "Up to 100,000 Christians have left Egypt since the Muslim Brotherhood came to power. Some of those have arrived in Moscow."

Iran: Also according to Fox News, a United Nations report states that "Iran's hard-line regime has intensified its violent crackdown on Christians and other religious minorities, even imprisoning nursing mothers for practicing their faith…" The March report provides a "rare, detailed view into the shocking treatment of Christians in Iran, where American Pastor Saeed Abedini is serving an eight-year sentence for his alleged work with Christians." According to a UN expert on human rights in Iran, "The persecution of Christians has increased. It seems to target new converts and those who run house churches…. more than 300 Christians have been arrested since June 2010, according to the report." Most recently, Five members of the Church of Iran denomination, "charged with disturbing public order, evangelizing, action against national security and an internet activity against the system," appeared before a judge.

Pakistan: After 3,000 Muslims attacked a Christian village—burning two churches and some 200 homes—the government punished Christians for protesting. According to the Daily Times, "Christians around the country are incensed by the recurring theme of blasphemy allegation followed by attacks and burning down of their vulnerable communities. They have held protests across the country in a concerted effort to vent their disgust at the recent incident and to show solidarity with the victims… Lahore police used the opportunity to beat the innocent Christian protesters. They shot tear gas shells at them and beat them with sticks. Yet when the Muslim attack took place they stood back and watched till the town had been razed to the ground…Muslims of Jhelum city have threatened to burn Christians home in response to the protests. Now the community is living in fear of reprisals for their simple act of condemning violence and the blasphemy laws of Pakistan."

Sweden: According to Charisma News, "Christians in Iran face arrest, torture, even death. But that doesn't seem to matter to Swedish immigration officials. Sweden wants to send Iranian Christian asylum seekers, who left Islam, back to Iran where they could be killed. Iran is one of the most dangerous places in the world for Christians. As apostates from Islam, they face grave danger in this country. But their requests for asylum status that could save their lives have been denied."

Syria: According to a Catholic leader, up to 30,000 Christians have fled the city of Aleppo, and two priests were abducted and held for a ransom of 15 million Syrian pounds each. Christians are regularly kidnapped and beheaded by jihadi rebels. Also, a short English-language video appeared where Fr. Fadi al-Hamzi told of how his uncle was recently murdered: "They killed him because he is Christian, they refuse to have any Christians in Syria. … I'm not afraid; my uncle died, he's immortal now. I can be like him." When asked if he was worried if Christians would be massacred if the U.S.-supported jihadis overthrew the government, the priest said , "Yes, yes, this will be… they don't want us here." Christians were in Syria 600 years before Islam conquered the nation.

About this Series

Because the persecution of Christians in the Islamic world is on its way to reaching pandemic proportions, "Muslim Persecution of Christians" was developed to collate some—by no means all—of the instances of persecution that surface each month. It serves two purposes:
  1. To document that which the mainstream media does not: the habitual, if not chronic, Muslim persecution of Christians.
  2. To show that such persecution is not "random," but systematic and interrelated—that it is rooted in a worldview inspired by Sharia.
Accordingly, whatever the anecdote of persecution, it typically fits under a specific theme, including hatred for churches and other Christian symbols; sexual abuse of Christian women; forced conversions to Islam; apostasy and blasphemy laws that criminalize and punish with death those who "offend" Islam; theft and plunder in lieu of jizya (financial tribute expected from non-Muslims); overall expectations for Christians to behave like dhimmis, or second-class, "tolerated" citizens; and simple violence and murder. Sometimes it is a combination.

Because these accounts of persecution span different ethnicities, languages, and locales—from Morocco in the West, to India in the East, and throughout the West wherever there are Muslims—it should be clear that one thing alone binds them: Islam—whether the strict application of Islamic Sharia law, or the supremacist culture born of it.

U.S. Marines

For extraordinary heroism and conspicuous gallantry in action against enemy Japanese forces, above and beyond the call of duty, while serving with the 1st Battalion, 7th Marines, 1st Marine Division in the Lunga Area, Guadalcanal, Solomon Islands, on 24 and 25 October 1942. While the enemy was hammering at the Marines' defensive positions, Sgt. Basilone, in charge of 2 sections of heavy machine guns, fought valiantly to check the savage and determined assault. In a fierce frontal attack with the Japanese blasting his guns with grenades and mortar fire, one of Sgt. Basilone's sections, with its gun crews, was put out of action, leaving only 2 men able to carry on. Moving an extra gun into position, he placed it in action, then, under continual fire, repaired another and personally manned it, gallantly holding his line until replacements arrived. A little later, with ammunition critically low and the supply lines cut off, Sgt. Basilone, at great risk of his life and in the face of continued enemy attack, battled his way through hostile lines with urgently needed shells for his gunners, thereby contributing in large measure to the virtual annihilation of a Japanese regiment. His great personal valor and courageous initiative were in keeping with the highest traditions of the U.S. Naval Service.

GySgt. Basilone was killed helping to guide a tank to safety that was trapped in a mine field under heavy mortar and artillery barrages during the invasion of Iwo Jima.

Dam If You Build And Dam If You Don't

Proposed Dam

Is what the government of Ethiopia has to decide.  They are in the middle of constructing the Grand Ethiopian Renaissance Dam and Egypt doesn't like it.
CAIRO - Egypt does not want war with Ethiopia but will keep "all options open", Egyptian President Mohamed Morsi said on Monday, turning up the heat in a dispute over a giant dam Addis Ababa is building across the Nile.

In a televised speech to cheering Islamist supporters, Morsi voiced understanding for the development needs of poorer nations upstream in the Nile basin, but rammed home in emotive language that Egyptians will not accept any reduction in the flow of the river on which their civilisation has been based for millennia.

Bellicose rhetoric, including talk of military action by Egyptian politicians last week, had raised concerns of a "water war" between Africa's second and third most populous states.

But Morsi, for whom the dispute provides an opportunity to rally Egyptians behind him after a divisive first year in power, also appeared to leave room for compromise.

He did not renew an Egyptian call - flatly rejected by Ethiopia last week - for work to stop at the dam but said further study on its impact was needed.

Describing Ethiopia as a "friendly state", he said Cairo was pursuing all political and diplomatic avenues for a solution.

Egypt's foreign minister is to visit Addis Ababa to discuss the project for Africa's biggest hydro power plant. Announced two years ago, engineers made a notable advance late last month.

"Egypt's water security cannot be violated in any way," Morsi said. "As head of state, I confirm to you that all options are open." He later added: "We are not calling for war, but we will never permit our water security ... to be threatened." Drawing on an old Egyptian song about the Nile, he said: "If it diminishes by one drop then our blood is the alternative." Cairo had no objection to "development projects in the Nile Basin states", he added, "but on condition that those projects do not affect or damage Egypt's legal and historical rights".

Egypt, whose fast-growing population of 84 million uses almost all of the Nile's supply that reaches them to meet their needs, cites colonial-era treaties guaranteeing it the lion's share of the water to defend its position. Ethiopia, the second most populous state in Africa, says those claims are outdated.

Other African states south of the historic frontier of the Muslim Arab world - notably Uganda, Kenya, Tanzania, Burundi, Rwanda and Democratic Republic of Congo - are also anxious to develop the water resources of the Nile Basin.

Ethiopia insists the Grand Renaissance Dam an Italian firm is building on the Blue Nile near the Sudanese border will generate electricity that it can export and will not reduce the long-term flow of the Nile, once its huge reservoir is filled.

It says it does not plan to use the water for irrigation.

But Egypt expressed surprise and alarm when engineers began major work late last month to divert the river in order to start key parts of the site, a portion of which is already complete.

Sudan, which like Ethiopia already has dams of its own on the Nile river system, has given its support to the project, saying it would benefit from electricity. But Egypt, whose own major barrages on the Nile include the landmark Aswan Dam, has raised concerns about its safety and effect on water flow.

Morsi said Egypt had carried out studies that showed "negative consequences" from building the Renaissance Dam.

Morsi faces a planned mass protest by non-Islamist groups on June 30, the anniversary of his election and he called on his opponents to forget their differences to safeguard the Nile. He was ready to "go to everyone", to reach out to those who have snubbed his previous calls for national reconciliation talks.

Yasser El-Shimy, Egypt analyst for the International Crisis Group, said: "Mursi is addressing the concerns of Egyptians regarding their water supplies, while sending a blunt message to Ethiopia and other Nile Basin countries Cairo takes this issue quite seriously. He also sought to sound presidential and well-supported by political allies ahead of the June 30 protests." Egypt's military rulers, notably in the 1970s but also later, warned at times of military action if Ethiopia threatened water resources. Last week, Ethiopia summoned the Egyptian ambassador after politicians in Cairo were shown on television suggesting military action or supporting Ethiopian rebels.

The possible downstream effects of the $4.7-billion dam have been disputed and full details are unclear. Despite its poverty, Ethiopia insists it can fund the project and has been aided by a $1-billion loan from China to build power transmission lines.

While letting water through such dams - of which Egypt, Sudan and Ethiopia already have several - may not reduce its flow greatly, the filling of the reservoir behind any new dam means cutting the river's flow for a time. Evaporation from reservoirs can also permanently reduce water flowing downstream.

Earlier on Monday, Egyptian Prime Minister Hisham Kandil told parliament more time was needed to study Ethiopia's project and for dialogue with Sudan and Ethiopia on the best design for the dam and how to fill its reservoir without reducing flow.

Poor Egypt, they have lost the tourist trade, they have lost their ability to feed themselves and now they are to lose their water.  How pitiful.  How ironic that they cite colonial-era treaties guaranteeing it the lion's share of the water to defend its position while denying the same right to Israel in their negotiations.  Poor Egypt will go to war to defend "their" water.  What a way to have the people of the nation forget their troubling economy and disastrous regime they are living under than to go to war.  And Ethiopia is an easier target than Israel who will fire back damaging Egypt's infrastructure.  A war financed by guess who?  That right the US.  Your tax dollars at work.

 Ethiopia has a legal and moral right to develop their resources.  After generations of struggles they are trying to emerge into the 21st Century.  These are the people we should be financing, should be helping, should be arming to defend themselves.  Perhaps the Ethiopians will call upon the Israelis to help them against the Egyptians?  Who knows?  Stranger things have happened!

Honor, Courage, Love

The conservative entrepreneur recently learned that he has temporarily lost the ability that so many of us take for granted — the ability to speak. Doctors informed Beck that his vocal chords have been temporarily paralyzed. The effects will “come and go,” but thankfully it is a repairable condition, he explained.

Glenn did a 10 minute dialog totally without a spoken word.  Watch it and hear his voice scream louder than it ever has before.

Click here if video fails to load.

I do hope that Mr. Beck regains the full use of his voice, but on that day he spoke louder and with more eloquent than he has ever done before.

 Well spoken Mr. Beck!  Well spoken!

The Resurgence of National Pride and the Future of Europe

Stolen From Gates of Vienna

Below is the text of the speech given by Geert Wilders in Los Angeles today.

Speech by Geert Wilders
Los Angeles, June 9, 2013

Dear friends, thank you for inviting me to Los Angeles. I always like coming to the United States. There are many things that I admire Americans for. One of them is that they are unashamedly patriotic.

The American Freedom Association has asked me to speak to you about the future of Europe.

Europe is in a terrible state. Bit by bit, European countries are losing their national sovereignty. The economy is in shambles. Islamic immigrants riot and terrorize the many locals. And when people’s throats are slit in the streets, while the murderers shout “Allahu Akbar,” the authorities appease the killers and declare that Islam has nothing to do with it.

Europeans feel that the gap between them en those who rule them is growing. Many no longer feel represented by their politicians. There is a complete disconnect between the people that truly rule Europe and the people that live in it.

The blame lies to a large extent with the European Union and the weak leadership within the European countries which have signed away their national sovereignty. The EU cannot be compared to the United States. Europe is a continent of many different nations with their own identities, traditions and languages. The EU is a supranational organization, but its leaders aim to turn it into a state. To this end they are destroying the wealth, identity and freedoms of the existing nation-states of Europe.

Before I elaborate, let us take a closer look at the terrible mistake that Europe made.

Following the Second World War, Europe’s leaders mistakenly thought that patriotism was the cause of the war.

All over Europe, not just in Germany, but everywhere, they equated the defense of national identity with extremism.

Politicians told the electorate that the nation state was dangerous.

On the rooftops of Europe’s parliaments and official buildings, they flew the EU flag next to the national flag, as if the nation is nothing but a province of a Pan-European empire.

On the number plates of European cars, they put the EU flag instead of the national flag, thereby forcing people to drive around with the symbol of their subjection.

They signed away their national interests for the goal of so-called Europeanization.

Such policies could never have been possible if the ruling elite had not fallen for the ideology of cultural and moral relativism. Patriotism, which is a virtue, came to be seen as a vice.

Today, the citizens of Europe are reaping the bitter harvest of this arrogance, this refusal to stand by the ancient nations of Europe, the mothers of modern democracy, the guardians of our liberty.
  • The EU stands for everything that is wrong in Europe.
  • It is a gigantic undemocratic transnational monster.
  • It issues legislation permeated with cultural relativism.
  • It meddles in the everyday lives of millions of people.
  • It has opened Europe’s borders to uncontrolled mass immigration, mostly from Islamic countries.
  • And it has deprived Europe’s parliaments of a huge amount of their legislative powers.

The Santa Monica Shootings: The Public Should Know the Motive

Gary Fouse
fousesquawk
http://garyfouse.blogspot.com

John Zawahri

At this point, we know that the Santa Monica shooter was 24-year-old John Zawahri. We know that he killed his father and his brother before setting their house on fire. He then went on a rampage and killed three other innocent people before he was shot dead at Santa Monica College. It has been revealed that he came from a broken family and  had anger issues. It has also been disclosed that he was armed with a combat uniform and some 1300 rounds of ammunition. His acts were clearly pre-mediated.

Here is what has not yet been revealed.

The family was clearly of Arabic origin though it is believed that John was American-born. That raises the obvious question: Was John a Muslim, and was this an act of violent jihad?  The authorities and the media have not commented, which in itself, raises eyebrows.

According to a comment on The Spirit of Truth, it was said by one who claimed to know the family that they were Orthodox Christian. If true, that would remove the idea of Islamic jihad. Yet, that has not been confirmed by the media to this point, which you would think they would be quick to do. The names themselves only create more confusion. The family names are Muslim, but John (and his brother, Chris-also a victim)-are Christian names.

So why the attention to the religion of the shooter? It comes down to this: If, in fact, Zawahri was a Muslim, then we must identify the motive beyond his alleged anger issues and family strife. If jihad had any role in this, then the public has a right to know the risks they face as they are driving down Pico Blvd in Santa Monica or walking to class at Santa Monica College.

In February of this year, Orange County was subjected to a shooting and killing spree by a young man named Syed Ali, who wound up killing himself when confronted by police. To this day, the last thing we have learned is that he had left a suicide note on his computer that revealed that his acts were pre-meditated. To my knowledge, the authorities have not revealed to us what exactly Ali's motivation was.

I realize that for decent and peaceful Muslims in the US, this is yet another painful episode that may lead to further negative feelings about Muslims in general, which is unfortunate. However, the public has every right to know what the true motivation behind both of these horrific acts was. We cannot access the risk if the authorities and the media will not report the facts out of political correctness.

If it turns out that Islam had nothing to do with this, I will happily report that immediately. I am confident that the police and the media will figure that out quickly. Like the case in Orange County, however, the longer time passes without any update on that point, the more suspicious I will be.

Riding The Whirlwind

Stolen From Faultline USA

A Commentary by J. D. Longstreet

A whirlwind is a vertical column of air whirling around itself as it moves over the surface of the Earth.  Think about that for a moment.

Now.  Consider this:  "For they sow the wind; and they reap the whirlwind."  That is from the Old Testament book of Hosea chapter 8 verse 7.

Like so many of the conservative commentariat,  I am STILL trying to analyze why America deliberately decided to turn a corner, or choose a path, that will unquestionably lead to its own destruction.

The choice to forsake a constitutional republic for a socialist, collectivist, Marxist, form of government is surreal.  It's like something from a bad science fiction movie in which the population is entirely controlled by some malevolent entity intent upon controlling the world.

I must confess:  I made a terrible mistake in that I assumed the American people still had enough common sense, enough discernment, enough honor left to do the right thing.

Last November the American electorate proved me wrong.  Woefully wrong.

Our ship of state was (is) (so obviously) headed toward the jagged rocks I assumed we would remove the less-than-adequate helmsman and replace him with a real mariner who would stir us away from certain destruction on the shoals and rocks. I was terribly wrong.

The reelection of Obama was a grand victory for ignorance.  It is the pay-off for years of indoctrination in our public schools.  The old Judeo-Christian ethics have been purged from our public education system in favor of secular humanism.  You can lay the blame for paving the way for it at the feet of our leftist, radical, Supreme Court and the Court's rulings from as far back as the 1960's.

Abraham Lincoln is given credit for saying: "The philosophy of the school room in one generation will be the philosophy of government in the next."  Whoever said it -- it was spot on.

The old Proverb -- "As the twig is bent, so grows the tree" is absolutely correct.  I think the ultimate source of this old proverb is from the Bible: "Train up a child in the way he should go: and when he is old, he will not depart from it."  Proverbs 22: 6.  We see ample proof of the wisdom of this proverb in our public education system today.

If you, perhaps, thought those of us who warned for decades of the trouble ahead for America due to the secular (and even religious) humanism being taught in our public schools were just blowing smoke -- consider the following carefully: "Expanding upon the role the public education establishment should play to bring about the goals described in the Humanist Manifesto II, John Dumphy wrote: "I am convinced that the battle for humankind's future must be waged and won in the public school classroom by teachers that correctly perceive their role as proselytizers of a new faith: a religion of humanity that recognizes and respects the spark of what theologians call divinity in every human being...The classroom must and will become an arena of conflict between the old and new -- the rotting corpse of Christianity, together with all its adjacent evils and misery, and the new faith of humanism, resplendent with the promise of a world in which the never-realized Christian ideal of 'love thy neighbor' will finally be achieved." (Emphasis by underlining is MINE.)  SOURCE

The generation of Americans who elected -- and then reelected -- Obama were graduates of this public school system.  They were programmed to act as automatons, to choose loyalty to the state over loyalty to God and their family.  They marched to the polls and did as they had been told, indeed, had been taught, programmed, -- indoctrinated to do.

Author Ron Taylor, in his book  "Agenda 21: An Expose of the United Nations" in which he writes of  the  "Sustainable Development Initiative and the Forfeiture of American Sovereignty and Liberties" says the following:  "It is their stated goal...to steal one generation of children and teach them to place loyalty to the state above loyalty to family."

See, this generation knows almost nothing of American history.  They know next to nothing about the Judeo-Christian origin of America.  They are ignorant of our founding documents, the Declaration of Independence, the Constitution, the Bill of Rights.  The only thing they know about capitalism and the American system of free markets is what they were taught -- that capitalism is bad.  They know far more about the benefits of Socialism and Marxism and "equality."

"Those coming out of years of humanistic brainwashing masquerading as public education know little of the Bible, America's Christian origins and founding documents, and the blessings of free-market capitalism. Instead, they know a great deal about sex education, values clarification, moral relativism, Darwinian evolution, Socialism and Marxism, earth worship, multiculturalism, one-world globalism, Israeli occupation of Palestinian territories, and appeasement foreign policy. Products of these schools comprised the Obama voters in 2012."   SOURCE:

The definition of discernment is:  The cognitive condition of someone who understands.  It also means:  The trait of judging wisely and objectively.  We learned on November 6th, of last year, that "discernment" is something that is "verging" on extinction in America today.  We no longer know our right hand from our left -- nor good from evil.  Thanks to moral relativism, better known as political correctness, modern Americans believe there is no such thing as good and evil, or right and wrong.  Everything is, well, relative.

It no longer matters what scripture teaches us, what history teaches us, what experience teaches us, what common sense teaches us, nor what plain old morality teaches us. No.  Now it is -- how do I feel about it.  "I," and/or "Me," is at the center of their very existence.

For a perfect example of this self-centered life, one has only to listen to one of our President's speeches.  Try to keep a running tally of the number of times the words "I" and "Me" and "MY" are spoken in a single address.  What is equally troubling is how effective the narcissism indoctrination of our young scholars has been.  For the most part, they don't even notice the over-abundant use of those personal pronouns "I" and "me" and the  "possessive" adjective "my,"  because,  to them, it's NORMAL!   How inexpressively sad that is.

Some years ago, I left my church when I "discerned" it was swinging away from the Gospels and embracing the apostate teachings of the leftist political agenda.  Now,we have social justice, environmentalism, inclusiveness, tolerance, multiculturalism, all lovingly spoken of from the pulpits of our religious community.

With all the respect I can muster for those of America's religious community who have sold out to mammon, allow me to ask:  Are you REALLY surprised that the leftist agenda you supported, and led your flocks to support, would come back to bite you?   As you have now learned, you cannot pick and choose which parts of the leftist agenda you will support and which parts you will not. It is all -- or nothing!

The reason so many are so concerned about America's future under Obama's second term is not JUST his Socialist/Marxist agenda only.  It is the sudden understanding that this was a culmination of all the work the progressive left has done in our schools and our churches since, at least, the late 1940's.

The progressive left has successfully created a hybrid American. They have created a society wholly dependent  upon others for, well, everything.  Easily led these new Americans can be made to do, say, and believe anything their masters want.  They are the perfect slaves.  And they are self perpetuating.

Ultimately, it means the death of America as the stabilizing force on the planet. Without America, chaos will reign on planet earth.  We are already seeing ample evidence of this all over the globe today.

This is why so many of us on the right are so troubled and upset by the results of the election last November.  Obama's reelection was the final step toward a single world-wide government or "global governance."

For many decades we have sown the wind.  Now, we shall reap the harvest from that which we have so blithely sown -- the whirlwind.  And having no choice now, we must learn to ride the whirlwind we have created.

White House Warns Republicans On Border Security

The White House has a warning to Republican senators who want to add on tougher border security language to the immigration bill: don't mess with the path to citizenship.

Republicans like Sen. Marco Rubio have said that the border security language in the bill he helped write aren't strict enough to pass through Congress. An effort is underway to strengthen the border security provisions on the Senate floor. But President Obama likely will not accept changes that impede a pathway to citizenship, according to Cecilia Muñoz, the White House's immigration point person.

"Any amendment, which in the name of border enforcement actually undercuts or eliminates a pathway to citizenship, strikes at the heart of what the Gang of Eight agreed to and what the president put forward in his principles," Muñoz, director of the White House domestic policy council, said at a briefing for Hispanic media outlets on Thursday.

Muñoz's comments are a warning to Republicans as the bill moves to the Senate floor next week.

Texas Sen. John Cornyn (R) is expected to propose an amendment that essentially rewrites the entire border enforcement section of the bill. His amendment would require that the federal government achieve certain border security goals -- such as 100 percent monitoring of all border sectors and a 90 percent apprehension rate of illegal crossers -- before immigrants legalized immigrants can apply for permanent residency.

The bill as written requires that a plan to accomplish those goals on the border be implemented, before immigrants can adjust their status. But immigrants wouldn't be blocked from seeking permanent legal status after a 10-year wait, even if all of the border metrics are not achieved.

Cornyn has drawn the ire of liberal groups who questioned his willingness to vote yes on the bill, even if his amendment is adopted. But even Rubio, one of the bill's eight authors, has said that he would vote no on the bill unless the border language is strengthened. Rubio has reportedly worked with Cornyn on the amendment.

Muñoz would not comment on the Cornyn amendment specifically. Instead called the existing Gang of Eight bill the "strongest bill with respect to immigration enforcement, certainly in recent memory, possibly ever" and noted that the border language was already strengthened in the Senate Judiciary Committee. She said the White House is open to further debate on border issues, but ultimately, wants a bill that strikes a compromise between security and legalization.

"We know there are some hot-button issues in this debate," she said. "The Senate floor is going to be another test of whether all eight of those members want to get to an agreement."

Despite these thorny issues, Muñoz expressed hope that the Senate can pass its bill before the July 4th recess. And even though immigration could face an even more difficult path in the House, she said the White House wants the lower chamber to act before Congress breaks in August.

The new immigration bill grants amnesty, full welfare benefits, and benefits to Illegals from Obamacare immediately, but does not even begin to secure the border.  Perhaps we should secure the border then think very hard for a few years (One or two decades would do.) about granting amnesty to anyone.

Has the Corruption in Washington Reached Critical Mass?

Gary Fouse
fousesquawk

If President Obama has lost the New York Times, it could be that the ship is really sinking. Here is the NYT editorial board in the wake of the NSA phone records news:

http://www.nytimes.com/2013/06/07/opinion/president-obamas-dragnet.html?_r=1

"The administration has lost all credibility"

*Update: That sentence has been changed to read, "The administration has lost all credibility on this issue."

Welcome to the world, New York Times. Where the Hell have you been? I mean Operation Fast and Furious escaped your notice as well as Eric Holder's lies under oath about that scandal. Benghazi and all the attendant lies escaped your notice as well.

But I stand corrected; The Times meant only on this issue.

Of course, today, Obama explained it all and assured us there is nothing to worry about. What a contrast from candidate Obama in 2007 when he promised his audience that none of this would happen in his administration. (Hat tip Liberty Blitzkrieg)

http://libertyblitzkrieg.com/2013/06/07/flashback-to-2007-obamas-speech-on-warrantless-wiretapping/

So now we have the NSA getting the communication records of every single Verizon customer. And it's not just Verizon, Folks. The revelations keep on coming.

http://www.foxnews.com/politics/2013/06/07/intelligence-officials-reportedly-mining-data-from-us-internet-companies/

And poor old James Clapper. He needs Google to get his information.

I understand that many conservatives are defending the NSA actions. Mike Rogers, a Republican who sits on the House intelligence committee is defending it and saying it has already thwarted a terror attack. This morning, radio talk show host Dennis Prager was also defending it as necessary to fight terrorism. These methods are way beyond what I was familiar with as a DEA agent who retired in the 1990s. Telephone toll records on drug traffickers and even wiretaps were part of the effort. Gathering data on every American in order to find some trend or something that leaps out at you as terrorism is way above my expertise. So I have questions: Is it necessary for the government to know all of my communications and what I do on the Internet in order to pick out the bad guys?

Perhaps.

Is this really the goal? If it is and it works, I will go along. Maybe President Obama has learned what candidate Obama did not know; that there are technological resources out there that can prevent a terror act even though they put private information on virtually all Americans in the government's files. Certainly, our government would never use this in the wrong ways. They would never use it to target political opponents.

Would they?

The IRS sure did.

Then there was this comment by none other than Maxine Waters last year during the campaign.

http://www.youtube.com/embed/eIA1lQBqH1s

So is it legitimate to question what the Obama administration is doing here?

Amid all this we have the EPA using drones to fly over farms to enforce the Clean Water Act. This is the department run by Lisa Jackson, aka Richard Windsor, who had his/her separate e-mail account and was awarded three awards for Ethics in Government.

Besides that, we have Holder's Justice Department going after the communications of the AP journalists as well as Fox's James Rosen, whom they identified as a "possible criminal co-conspirator" complete with Eric Holder's signature (but Holder says he had no knowledge of anything like that). We have the IRS targeting conservative groups and spending tons of money on conferences with line dances and artists paid to paint portraits of Bono, a high-ranking official who takes the 5th, and another who was overseeing the targeting of Tea Party groups, who did such a good job, she got hundreds of thousands of dollars in bonus payments and was promoted to oversee IRS's involvement in enforcing ObamaCare. Oh, did you know that the IRS paid out $133,000 to private event planners to arrange those conferences? I have news for you. When I was in DEA, I had the occasion to be assigned to organize a few conferences myself. That happened several times when I was in DEA's International Training Division my last two years before retirement. I arranged similar events in Washington, Kiev, and Guatemala. That meant I secured the hotel where people stayed, conference rooms, interpreters, speakers, meals, and everything else needed. I didn't have the luxury of hiring an event planner. We were expected to do that ourselves. We were expected to get the best rate available from the hotels, whereas the event planners go after the highest rates they can find so they get a bigger commission.

Event planners. Gimme a break!

It comes down to this: Given all of the scandals going on in this administration, where high-ranking officials are committing perjury or taking the 5th, do you trust this bunch to protect the rights of the rest of us while supposedly trying to find the bad guys who want to do us harm?

I guess they could try profiling.

69 Years Ago Today

Thousands of Allied troops invaded Fortress Europe.  French, British and American came to liberate Europe and bring them FREEDOM.  On that first day 10,000 troops died and thousands were wounded.  But a beachhead was established and the liberation had begun.

Barack Obama's True Middle East Policy

Today Samantha Power was nominated to become the Ambassador to the UN by King President Barack Hussein Obama.  It will be her positions on topics that will be our voice at the United Nations.  A voice that has stated this:

Obama advisor calls for the invasion of Israel

Click here if video fails to load.
President Barack Hussein Obama’s nominee for United States ambassador to the United Nations gave a highly provocative interview in April 2002 in which she said that "external intervention" may be necessary to prevent "genocide" and "major human rights abuses" in the "Palestine/Israeli situation".

Responding to a hypothetical question, Samantha Power, who was named to replace ambassador Susan Rice, said if given the opportunity she would advise the president to sacrifice billions of dollars of aide to the Jewish state, allocating the funds instead “the new state of Palestine.”

“In the Palestine-Israeli situation, there’s an abundance of information and what we don’t need is some kind of early warning mechanism there,” she said, in response to a question regarding how the United States should monitor a situation in the Middle east which may be “moving toward genocide.”

“What we need is a willingness to actually put something on the line in service of helping the situation, and putting something on the line might mean alienating a domestic constituency of tremendous political and financial import. It may more crucially mean sacrificing or investing literally billions of dollars not in servicing Israel’s military but actually investing in the new state of Palestine, investing billions of dollars it would probably take also to support what I think will have to be a mammoth protection force,” she said.

“You have to go in as if you are serious. You have to put something on the line and unfortunately the imposition of a solution on unwilling parties is dreadful,” she continued to state.

Power, a longtime adviser for President Obama, left the administration in February but was considered the favorite to replace Rice at the U.N.

She worked on his 2008 presidential campaign and was senior director for multilateral affairs and human rights during the president’s first term in office.

Source
I wonder how many US troops she is willing to see killed?  1,000?  5,000?  50,000?  I wonder if she will be putting her own blood on the line or does she really care about who will be fighting this war for her?

 When Obama was elected in 2008 I said that he would find a way to finish the job his idol Hitler started.  And with this appointment he is well on the way to fulfilling that desire.

46 Years Ago Today.

Israel did the impossible.  Taking on Egypt, Jordan and Syria, Israel defeated all three in 6 days.

The Six-Day War, 1967

Click here if video doesn't load.

Also known as the War of 1967, this war was fought between Israeli and the Arab Forces across large areas across the Middle-East. Tension between Israel and her Arab neighbours had been growing for several months. Egypt, known as the United Arab Republic at the time, Jordan and Syria were all involved in the conflict. By the end of the war Israel had taken control of the Gaza Strip, Sinai Peninsula (from Egypt), West Bank and Eastern Jerusalem (from Jordan) and the Golan Heights from Syria.

Not bad for a nation only 19 years old at the time. A nation nobody gave any chance to survive their War of Independence let alone win such a war.

A textbook example of how to go to war and win.

Video- Senator Ted Cruz Leading The Charge On Abolishing The IRS

By Susan Duclos

Republican Senator Ted Cruz makes the case for flat tax.

Click here if the video doesn't load.

He speaks of the recent details of the IRS abuses in targeting conservatives and how the "IRS has not honored it's trust with the American people," and that the "Obama administration has demonstrated a willingness to use the machinery of government to target their political enemies."

Cruz also told Fox News "That was true with the IRS, and it’s true with the Department of Justice, in targeting reporters, targeting Fox News, going after reporters that would dare be critical of this administration."

Watch the whole thing, it is well worth the time.

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Perhaps now is the time to install a flat tax with very few deductions.  A deduction for one's mortgage, children, charity, healthcare costs, etc...
A flat tax at a 15% for everyone.  And the abolition of the Internal Revenue Service.
A Grim Milestone
Since September 11, 2001 there have been over 21,000 attacks by the Religion of Peace.
Muslim Paranoia Results In The Death Or Crippling Of Africa's Children
On April 12, 1955 Dr. Jonas Salk announced that he and his team had developed a working vaccine to combat polio.  In 1962 Dr. Albert Sabin announced that he and his team developed a better vaccine for polio.  The world rejoiced in the news of both men.
April 12 1955: Polio Announcement
Click here if the video doesn't load
And like Smallpox before it, scientists did believe that polio could be wiped out in a few generations.  It would have been but for one thing:  ISLAM.
Dr. Ibrahim Ahmed
According to a leading expert on Islam, Daniel Pipes, the dreaded polio disease is resurgent in the Muslim world, because of one man's paranoia.
Ten years ago, writes Pipes, polio was on the verge of eradication, when Ibrahim Datti Ahmed, president of the Supreme Council for Sharia in Nigeria and a physician, suggested in mid-2003 that the vaccination program in his country was part of a Western conspiracy to render Muslim children infertile.
“His call for an end to the polio immunization campaign touched a nerve and spread to other Muslim religious leaders in Nigeria, causing the vaccination process to slow down and incidences of the disease to pick up.
“From Nigeria, this dual phenomenon of conspiracy theory and re-appearance of the disease then expanded to Muslims internationally,” writes Pipes, who has been following the resurgence of the disease closely in his blog over the years. “So closely connected have Islam and polio become that the Muslim-only pilgrimage to Mecca became a major mechanism of transmitting the disease to faraway places like Indonesia.”
By now, he writes, Ahmed's paranoia has sent the new wave of polio from Nigeria to Muslim populations in at least 17 other African countries and 6 Asian countries:
In Africa: Angola, Benin, Botswana, Burkina Faso, Cameroon, Chad, Central African Republic, Egypt, Ghana, Guinea, Ivory Coast, Kenya, Mali, Niger, Somalia, Sudan, and Togo.
In Asia: Afghanistan, India, Indonesia, Pakistan, Saudi Arabia, and Yemen.
“A single conspiracy-obsessed Islamist,” Pipes sums up, “equipped with an organization and credentials, has caused polio not to be eradicated but instead to win a new lease on life.
“Thus has radical Islam brought misery to another aspect of human life – and made fellow Muslims its principal victims.”
Source
I wonder if this paranoia is due to the fact that both Dr. Salk and Dr. Sabin were Jews.  Or is it a way to control their people.  Or perhaps both.
The children of Angola, Benin, Botswana, Burkina Faso, Cameroon, Chad, Central African Republic, Egypt, Ghana, Guinea, Ivory Coast, Kenya, Mali, Niger, Somalia, Sudan, Togo,  Afghanistan, India, Indonesia, Pakistan, Saudi Arabia, and Yemen are condemned to suffer from this disease.  A disease that cripples as often as it kills.  A disease that is preventable by not one but two working vaccines.  But to the Muslim mind it is an evil created by the West to destroy Islam.
Oh if it was only that easy!
Scholarship at Work at Berkeley: Hatem Bazian
Gary Fouse
fousesquawk
http://garyfouse.blogspot.com
Hatem Bazian
Hatem Bazian is a professor at UC Berkeley who has sullied the pages of this otherwise noble blog on many occasions. Even at a place like Berkeley, this character stands out. As previously noted, he is a two-trick pony who is involved in bashing the state of Israel and whining about all the Islamophobia he perceives all around him. He is also a co-founder of something called the Islamophobia Research and Documentation Project at UCB. He apparently has also coined a phrase called "Sudden Ignorance Syndrome", which should appear prominently on his curricula vitae. As previously reported here, he has spoken often at UC Irvine, where I teach part-time, during the annual anti-Israel events every May sponsored by the Muslim Student Union.
In the wake of the Boston bombing, Bazian is hard at work producing "scholarly" documents like the one below complaining about the "backlash" against Muslims (which basically consists of a couple of Bostonians allegedly shouting curses at some Muslim lady in the days after April 15.)
http://www.hatembazian.com/boston-article.html
As to the rush to blame Muslims for the bombing, I myself held off speculating until the Brothers Tsarnaev were identified as the suspects. In addition, most of the mainstream media were speculating that it might have been the work of right-wing white militia or tax protesters since it occurred on April 15. I am thinking specifically of CNN's Wolf Blitzer and the mad hatters at MSNBC. They were dead wrong. If anyone else speculated it was Muslims, they turned out to be correct.
I also note that Bazian quotes that unimpeachable source, Media Matters for America ("a non-profit research group dedicated to debunking conservative falsehoods in the media" ), which is a notoriously biased source and little more than an arm of the Democratic Party even though they enjoy tax-exempt status. The reference to Media Matters is in connection with a statement made by Frank Gaffney on April 20, by which time, we knew the bombers' identities.
Bazian then goes into a scholarly discussion of "Sudden Ignorance Syndrome", an affliction suffered by racist whites toward Muslims in general. He refers to Daniel Pipes (a Bush appointee" no less), Sudden Jihad Syndrome, and wild connections between Muslims and terrorism as he approaches his dramatic introduction of Sudden Ignorance Syndrome which has something to do with white American racism and connecting Muslims to terrorism though I have never heard any serious person claim that all Muslims are terrorists or even most of them. In fact, with rare exceptions, Americans have acted very fairly and responsibly in not blaming innocent Muslims for 9-11, the Boston bombing, or any other act. To be sure, there is anger and mistrust out there. I see it in print every day, but how many American Muslims have been murdered because of their faith since, say, 9-11? I am aware that a Sikh man was shot and killed in the days after 9-11 and the killer thought he was Muslim. We have the attack on the Sikh temple in Wisconsin, but it has not been established that the killer thought they were Muslims-only speculated. There was also a case a few months ago back East, where a mentally-deranged woman pushed an Indian man in front of a subway train and said she didn't like Sikhs and Muslims. Have there been any other cases of a Muslim being murdered in America by a non-Muslim because of their faith? We thought we had one in El Cajon, California a year or so ago, but that turned out to be charged to her husband. (He is still waiting trial.)
As to insults, assaults or vandalizing mosques, I have spoken out against those when reported and charges filed.
But you know what Dr Bazian doesn't mention in his scholarly work on hate? He says nothing about the on-going persecution of Christians and other religious minorities from one Islamic nation to another from Egypt to Indonesia to Pakistan to Sudan to Iran to Syria to Iraq--shall I continue?
Keep in mind that Bazian himself has been accused of being intolerant towards Jews. He has been accused of telling a university crowd at Berkeley to look around and note how many buildings had Jewish names on them. He has been accused of saying the San Francisco State University campus paper had "Jewish spies" (Bazian was a student there at the time.)  He has been accused of quoting that fuzzy little hadith about the Final Day when the Jews will hide behind the trees and rocks, which in turn will call out to the Muslim, "Oh Muslim. There is a Jew hiding behind me. Come and kill him." He has been accused of calling for an intifada in the US.
In May of 2010 at UC Irvine, I confronted him with those quotes (minus the one about the campus paper)  and asked if they were accurate. You can read about that exchange here.
http://garyfouse.blogspot.com/2010/05/hatem-bazian-at-uc-irvine.html
Here are some other sources for the reported statements attributed to Bazian.
http://www.discoverthenetworks.org/individualProfile.asp?indid=2173
http://www.campus-watch.org/article/id/9732
But let us return to this scholarly piece by Bazian: I allude to where Dr Bazian attempts to insert some
scholarly language into this screed:
"The Bad Muslim is anyone that continues to have an expressed attachment to his/her religion and applies it as
an epistemic basis for their life and engagement in the world. For sure the Sudden Ignorance Syndrome is only
capable of binary level and dimwitted analysis, which in actuality is a self-constructed binary shaped in a mirrored
mental vacuum and obfuscated for the quick media cycle to appear as if it is an authentically self-constituted and a
diversely engaged counterpart."
(Don't ask me. I only have a masters degree.)
From there, Bazian goes on to the usual historical  litany of grievances against anything that is Western or white. He even dredges up the Vietnam war.
At the end, however, is where Bazian suddenly reveals his own ignorance syndrome when it comes to free speech (pun intended).
"The Sudden Ignorance Syndrome is real and one can’t escape it or those affected by it, since they
 pollute the airwaves around the clock and are sitting ready for a phone call to jump into action.
What is needed from civil society is to reclaim the airwaves and to demand that, publicly owned
and governmentally regulated through the FCC as they are, they should not be used to spread racism,
bigotry and Islamophobia. In reality, we must explore ways to engage in a systematic legal challenge to the
ability of racists to use public resources in order to spread their brand of  bigotry, since we all collectively
own the airwaves and rent them to media outlets and companieson the understanding that they are to be
utilized for the general good. Racism should be defined as the process of disrupting human potential and it
should have no place on a publicly owned resource."
Translation? Bazian is obviously on board with that Defamation of Religions resolution that the Organization
of Islamic Cooperation is trying to push through the UN that would call on member nations to criminalize any
expression critical of Islam.
First of all, our public air waves are not being used to spread hate, bigotry, or Islamophobia, whatever
Bazian's definition of Islamophobia is. Granted, the blogosphere has the entire range of sites from those
who hate all Muslims (and others) to sites that support and promote Islamic terrorism itself.
What he is really referring to is certain writers or commentators holding an honest and frank discussion
about terrorism, hate toward other religions, and whether Islam itself is or is not a factor. This is a topic of
international interest and paramount importance that affects our freedom and our very lives.  Sorry, Professor,
but given the world situation, such a discussion is legitimate, and we have something in this country
called a First Amendment. In addition, before you and your allies accuse everyone of holding negative
opinions about Muslims and hatred, you should pay more attention to cleaning up your own back yard.
You could start by researching into the names of others who have spoken at that same podium
as you during the Muslim Student Union anti-Israel  extravaganzas every May at UC Irvine through the years.
Amir Abdel Malik Ali
Mohammed al Asi
Abdul Alim Musa
....and so many others.
File that in the Islamophobia Research and Documentation Project files.
