The Difference in Leadership and Making a Speech!

There is a major difference between the 2 candidates, John McCain and Barack Hussein Obama. A very big difference. LEADERSHIP.

It takes a very strong man to walk away from an election or to suspend his campaigning this close to Election Day. But again we see the character of the 2 men. For John McCain has suspended his campaign in order to work on this economic crises that this nation is facing.
Republican presidential candidate John McCain announced Wednesday that he is suspending his campaign to return to Washington and focus on the "historic" crisis facing the U.S. economy.

The Arizona senator called on his Democratic rival, Barack Obama, to do the same. He also urged organizers of Friday's presidential debate at the University of Mississippi to postpone the event.

"I am calling on the president to convene a meeting with the leadership from both houses of Congress, including Senator Obama and myself," McCain told reporters in New York. "It is time for both parties to come together to solve this problem."

There was no immediate response from the Obama campaign.

Knowing Senator Obama and his people, they will call this a publicity stunt and continue to make speeches.

This is not the time of speech making or rhetoric. It is the time for both parties to sit down and come up with real solutions to this problem. This is not the time for casting blame on each other. It is the time for a bi-partisan effort to fix this mess. This is the time for a leader to arise and take charge. And he has. It is John McCain. A man who would give up a chance for the White House in order to save his nation. A true American Patriot. A man worthy of your vote.

Dear Mahmoud

by Michael Ledeen

I wrote a letter to President Ahmadinejad, posted on NRO on Monday. I thought you’d want to see it:

I’m writing to you about death, one of your favorite themes. Your adult life has revolved around it. You’re from the Revolutionary Guards, the military organization that was created in the Bekaa Valley of Lebanon in the 1970s. The then-incipient Revolutionary Guards were trained there by the expert terrorists of al Fatah, Yasser Arafat’s gang of killers (Sunnis, by the way, as you well know). One day, the camp was bombed by the Israelis, and a considerable number of your men were killed. Later on, the graduates entered Iran, and killed members of the shah’s security forces. Today, Revolutionary Guardsmen crush Iranian dissent at home, and they are on the prowl all over the world, from Iraq and Afghanistan to Buenos Aires, Argentina. So you’ve been around death for 30 years or more. Training for it, training others for it, and participating in it.

You glorify it. You think it’s beautiful. “Art reaches perfection when it portrays the best life and best death,” you’ve said. After all, art tells you how to live. That is the essence of art. Is there art that is more beautiful, more divine, and more eternal than the art of martyrdom? A nation with martyrdom knows no captivity. Those who wish to undermine this principle undermine the foundations of our independence and national security. They undermine the foundation of our eternity.

Interestingly, you talk about “independence” and “national security,” rather than the interests of Islam, or the Muslim community, or even the Shiites, your sect. I’ll come back to this odd language shortly.

You’re a veteran of one of the bloodiest wars of recent times, the Iran-Iraq conflict that probably cost your country more than a million dead and maimed. You extol that sacrifice, as any patriotic Persian would; Iran was invaded by Saddam Hussein’s armies, and the Iranian people defended their country, bravely and desperately.

But your praise of Iranian fighters isn’t limited to men shot down on the battlefield in that bloody war; you celebrate cases of what you call — and extol — “martyrdom.” I call it the deliberate, criminal slaughter of many tens of thousands of young children. Some of those kids were only 12 years old. They were sent across the battlefields into Iraqi territory, as human mine-detectors. They walked across the minefields, and got blown up. The Iraqi soldiers were so horrified that they shouted at the children to stop, to go back. But they didn’t; you’d indoctrinated or hypnotized them, and you wanted them to die. Indeed, you were so certain they would be killed, that these little children were provided with plastic keys that were said to open the gates to paradise.

That’s not martyrdom; that’s mass murder of your own people. You indoctrinated those kids and sent them to their doom. And it didn’t stop with the war. Afterwards, you sent other children to walk across areas you suspected were mined, and many of them were sacrificed in the same way.

This barbarous campaign, of which you are so proud, and which you acclaim as a work of art, produced some particularly gruesome technical problems: according to one of your leading newspapers, many of those children were vaporized by the land mines, while others were blown to pieces, their body parts scattered over the earth. Your religious leaders insisted that everything be done to keep the bodies intact, and so at a certain point the children were sent to the mine fields wrapped tightly in blankets. Instead of charging bravely to eternity, they rolled across the ground. That way, their cadavers were more likely to hold together, and their families could be given the remains, wrapped in a bloody blanket, for burial.

Sending fighters into battles in which their leaders know many, or even most of them, are going to die is hardly new. The Russians did it in the First World War, for example, when the second ranks were not armed, but were told that there would be plenty of weapons available; they could just pry them from the hands of their dead comrades. But your massacre of the innocents is something uniquely dreadful.

Ironically, the notion that Muslims love death, thereby gaining an advantage against their life-loving adversaries, was first directed against your very own country, Iran itself, during the famous battle at Qadisiyya in 636, between the Muslim armies of Caliph Abu Bakr and the Persians. The Caliph sent a message to the Persians, calling upon them to conver t to Islam or pay onerous taxes and accept Muslim rule. Otherwise, he said, “you should know that I have come to you with an army of men that love death, as you love life.” (The Muslims won the battle, which marked the end of the Sassanid dynasty in Persia).

Such language during war is, so to speak, normal, but your deliberate mass sacrifice of your young, along with your ode to martyrdom, is different. It’s what the great Spanish philosopher Miguel de Unamuno called “necrophilous” thinking, a pathological love of death.

Unamuno used that word in a face-to-face confrontation at the University of Salamanca, where he was the rector, with the famous Spanish general Millan Astray. The Spanish Civil War had just begun, and the general was celebrated in nationalistic circles for his motto, viva la muerte, Long Live Death. The general was a cripple, and Unamuno noted that the great Spanish writer, Cervantes, was also handicapped, and then he continued, “it pains me to think that General Milan Astray should dictate the pattern of mass psychology. A cripple who lacks the spiritual greatness of a Cervantes is wont to seek ominous relief in causing mutilation around him.” Unamuno denounced “Long Live Death” as a “necrophilous and senseless cry.”

Today, you are in the same position as General Milan Astray. Although you have not been wounded, your celebration of death is as necrophilous as the general’s. This is not a philosophical matter, despite your efforts to elevate it to the stature of aesthetics. It’s a disease, with well-known symptoms and consequences. People like you, who are fascinated by death are terribly destructive, of others and of themselves. You’re a textbook case.

Necrophilia is defined as:

The passionate attraction to all that is dead, decayed, putrid, sickly; it is the passion to transform that which is alive into something unalive; to destroy for the sake of destruction… It is the passion to tear apart living structures.

That is the language you use, especially about the Jews, the Israelis, and the Americans. It’s all about the rot of death, and the stink of death, as when you said that Israel is a “rotten and stinking corpse” that is destined to disappear, and you went on to proclaim that Israel “has reached the end like a dead rat.”

As I say, you’re a textbook case of mental illness. And we’re very well acquainted with the political consequences of your diseased mind. It’s all about fascism.

Fascists like you have always loved death. Hitler’s SS had a death skull on their insignia, and celebrated a brave death. As you say you do. And, like Hitler, you don’t just love death because of its aesthetics. You think that martyrs — suicide bombers, of whom you claim to have recruited some forty thousand, for example — have geopolitical significance. You say that “all independent nations are indebted to martyrs,” and your website modestly claims that the oppressed peoples of the world all love Iran’s leaders, particularly you and Supreme Leader Ali Khamenei. (That doesn’t sound right at all, by the way. Have you polled the Burmese and the Chinese, or the North Koreans? I haven’t heard them singing your praises, frankly).

But there’s a big difference between you and the Nazi leaders. You, and your fellow Iranian leaders, don’t actually fight. With the exception of your Revolutionary Guards forces in Iraq and Afghanistan, very few Iranians put themselves on the line (and even your foreign legions rarely fight, and when they are captured, they often give us the information we need to defeat you, as we have in Iraq and soon will in Afghanistan). You lure others to die, but you’re not willing to put your own lives on the line. You talk a lot about the “culture of martyrdom,” but in practice it’s not Iranians who blow themselves up. I don’t know of a single case of an Iranian suicide bomber in Iraq or Afghanistan. They’re all Arabs: Saudis, north Africans, and the odd Syrian tossed in for ethnic balance. But not Iranians. All of which tells me that your big talk about martyrdom is phony. Martyrdom is for others — in the current campaign, others you and most other Iranians despise, like the Arabs — but you’re not about to blow yourself up, or send your comrades to blow yourselves up.

You’ve won the status of the world’s leading antisemite, which is not easy, and you’ve lied about it a lot. Indeed, you have denied — on CBS television — hating any religion, which is manifestly false; you’ve been seen on Iranian TV spouting venom against all non-Muslims, with special contempt for Christians and Jews. But, when you are talking to the infidels, you pretend to be tolerant. For a guy who has distinctly medieval convictions — your very literal belief in the imminent return of the Shiite messiah, your beloved Twelfth Imam, and the onset of the End of Days, for example — you’ve certainly mastered some of the nuances of contemporary Western politics. You never chant “death to the Jews!” It’s always “death to Israel!” Or “death to the Zionists!” Or “death to America!”

That’s entirely in keeping with the “new” antisemitism. It’s always about Zionists, or the Israel lobby, or the lackeys of Sharon. But every now and then you just can’t resist, and out it comes. Instead of remembering to say that you respect all monotheistic religions, you tell your followers “We are in the process of a historical war between the World of Arrogance and the Islamic world, and this war has been going on for hundreds of years.” Zionists haven’t been around that long. And your followers aren’t nearly as careful with their language as you are. The Iranian creation, Hezbollah, told us in 1992 that they were engaged in “ an open war until the elimination of Israel and until the death of the last Jew on earth.” And ten years later, the leader of the “Party of God,” Lebanese Sheikh Nasrallah, was quoted by the Lebanon Daily Star, encouraging all the Jews to move to Israel, the better to annihilate them in one blow. “If they all gather in Israel, it will save us the trouble of going after them worldwide.”

Your senior adviser, Mohammad Ali Ramin (said to be the man behind your infamous Holocaust Denial Conference), says the Jews have been accused of spreading deadly plagues throughout history because “they are very filthy people.” And, almost in the same breath, he added, “So long as Israel exists in the region there will never be peace and security in the Middle East…so the resolution of the Holocaust issue will end in the destruction of Israel.”

That you are engaged in a global campaign to destroy the Jews is evident from your actions as well as your words; Hezbollah and the Iranian regime were joint partners in the bombing of the Jewish Social Center in Buenos Aires in 1994.

There’s obviously a big difference for you between dead Muslims and dead Jews; it’s only your dead that count; ours don’t count as martyrs. This is the point of your infamous diatribes against the very idea of the Holocaust. “ (The Zionists and their agents) have concocted a myth of deprivation and innocence for the Jews of Europe,” you’ve said. “They use this pretext of the innocence of Jews and the suffering of some Jews during the Second World War…” We know all about that line, “the pretext of innocence.” It’s been the trademark of antisemites for centuries.

In short, you’re not what you say you are. You’re a poseur, a fraud, a vulgar chauvinist pretending to be an inspired religious leader. You’ve proclaimed Iran “the most powerful and independent country in the world.” The implication of that silly claim is that the weaker and dependent nations — that is, everyone else in the world — must bend to your will. You’ve said this more than once and in somewhat different ways, as when you said that the Iranian people must prepare themselves to rule the world.

Those statements are very surprising, coming from one of the leaders of the Islamic Republic of Iran. Those words put you in direct conflict with the founder, Ayatollah Rohallah Khomeini. On the Air France plane carrying him to Tehran, Khomeini famously proclaimed that nationalism was paganism, that he didn’t give a hoot about Iran, and that his revolution was for all of Islam, not for one country. Indeed, if Iran perished in order to advance the global triumph of Islam, it would be fine with him.

So what’s up with your pagan statement about the glory of Iran? You constantly claim to be the heir to Khomeini, a true believer in the imminent return of the 12th Imam, but as a matter of fact you embrace an heretical doctrine. The 12th Imam is supposed to bring about the global triumph of the Muslim peoples, as Khomeini said. Not Iran. And another thing: you often talk as if global chaos and conflagration were welcome, because it would hasten the Mahdi’s arrival. But Khomeini did not say that, nor did he act as if he believed it. Quite the contrary, in fact: When an Iranian passenger plane was accidentally shot down by an American missile, he didn’t welcome it at all; he surrendered. That American missile ended the Iran-Iraq war.

You’d do well to study the history of your own country, which so far as I know is the only one to have had a Jewish queen — Esther, of the Purim story. The Book of Esther recounts the life and death of one of your direct predecessors, the evil politician Haman, who convinced his ruler, Ahasverous, to order the massacre of the Jews of the Persian Empire. The Book of Esther nicely summarizes what happens to those, like you, who attempt to destroy the Jewish people. Haman and his sons were hanged; then, a few days later, in the fighting he had authorized, some 75,000 Persians were killed by their would-be Jewish victims, and Esther reigned.

It’s your destiny, too.

I don’t know exactly how you will be destroyed. There are many possible scenarios, most of which you’ve undoubtedly contemplated in your reflections on the beauty of death. My own favorite is to turn your own hate upon yourself and your regime, and fulfill your dream of a world without Jews. You don’t want to be contaminated by us, right? Very well, then we’ll seal you off from everyone and everything Jewish. The ultimate embargo: You’ll have no Jewish doctors or lawyers, no access to Jewish hospitals, you’ll be isolated from music or art by Jews, and everything invented by Jews. It’s quite a long list, including chemotherapy, the cure for syphilis, the polio vaccine, blue jeans, oral contraceptives, azathioprine (the first immuno suppressant used in organ transplants), septicemia (treatment for bacterial infections), the Barbie doll, hand-held video cameras, various antibiotics including streptomycin and penicillin, the push-up bra, and, of course, most everything nuclear (sorry about that) including the fission reactor (as you must know, the American atomic bomb began with a letter to President Roosevelt from two Jewish physicists, and the Manhattan Project involved numerous others).

Poetic justice, don’t you think? You’ll be throttled by your own bile.

From Monkey in the Middle:

I have read and written many articles dealing with Iran and President Ahmadinejad. Many different aspects all saying the same theme. But in this one letter says it all.

This week Mahmaud Amadinejad is in New York to address the General Assembly of the United Nations. And he will call upon them to condemn Israel and the United States for various Human Rights violations. Yet he is one of the greatest violators of Human Rights in the history of the world.

The time is coming that Iran will feel the force of might. It is what Ahmadinejad wants and prays for. For in his beliefs he feels that the coming war will bring about the return of the Mahdi, the 12th Iman. What such a war really will bring about is the total destruction of Iran and its people.

This is will be the result of choosing megalomaniacs has your leaders instead of rational people.

Democrats Conceding Defeat in Battle With GOP Over Off-Shore Drilling!

It has taken months and gas rising to over $5 a gallon in some areas, but we now have a partial victory.
Democrats have decided to allow a quarter-century ban on drilling for oil off the Atlantic and Pacific coasts to expire next week, conceding defeat in a months-long battle with the White House and Republicans set off by $4 a gallon gasoline prices this summer.

House Appropriations Committee Chairman David Obey, D-Wis., told reporters Tuesday that a provision continuing the moratorium will be dropped this year from a stopgap spending bill to keep the government running after Congress recesses for the election.

Republicans have made lifting the ban a key campaign issue after gasoline prices spiked this summer and public opinion turned in favor of more drilling. President Bush lifted an executive ban on offshore drilling in July.

"If true, this capitulation by Democrats following months of Republican pressure is a big victory for Americans struggling with record gasoline prices," said House GOP leader John Boehner of Ohio.

Democrats had clung to the hope of only a partial repeal of the drilling moratorium, but the White House had promised a veto, Obey said.

The House is expected to act on the spending bill Wednesday. The Senate is likely to go along with the House.

While the House would lift the long-standing drilling moratoriums for both the Atlantic and Pacific coasts, a drilling ban in waters within 125 miles of Florida's western coast would remain in force under a law passed by Congress in 2006 that opened some new areas of the east-central Gulf to drilling.

Just last week, the House passed legislation to open waters off the Atlantic and Pacific coasts to oil and gas drilling but only 50 or more miles out to sea and only if a state agrees to energy development off its shore. It quickly became clear that measure would not get the 60 votes needed in the Senate.

Republicans called that effort a sham that would have left almost 90 percent of offshore reserves effectively off-limits.

The Interior Department estimates there are 18 billion barrels of recoverable oil beneath the Outer Continental Shelf, about half of it off California.

The congressional battle over offshore drilling is far from over. Democrats are expected to press for broader energy legislation, probably next year, that would put limits on any drilling off most of the Atlantic and Pacific coasts. Republicans, meanwhile, are likely to fight any resumption of the drilling bans that have been in place since 1981.

John McCain, the Republican presidential nominee, has promised to make offshore oil drilling a priority if elected president. He has called for developing the oil and gas resources along all of Outer Continental Shelf and for the federal government to share royalties with states who go along with drilling.

Democratic presidential rival Barack Obama has said he would support limited drilling in certain areas -- possibly the South Atlantic region -- if it is part of a broader energy plan to shift the U.S. away from oil to alternative fuels and more energy efficiency.

The debate over offshore drilling is not expected to subside in the first months of the next presidency -- no matter who sits in the White House.

Full Story

What this means is that the Democrats are running scared. They see that the nation is hurting, that their polls are hurting and this issue is hurting Barack Hussein Obama's chances in November.

While this doesn't solve the problem in the foreseeable future, it is a start and we should see the effects of this some time next year. And we still have to get the Congress to open up ANWAR to oil exploration and development.

And if Congress hadn't left on their 5 week vacation and had addressed this problem, we would have been doing this sooner. And Americans would be feeling the effects of this sooner.

This is what happens when you have a Congressional Leadership that is more interested in playing politics than in what happens to the nation. This is why they must leave in November.

But still, it is a partial victory. So we can celebrate a bit.

UN Human Rights Council: Curtailing Freedom of Expression

Many times NGO's have been asked to speak in front of many United Nations organizations. And every time a pro-Israel group has spoken, they have been stopped by one or another Muslim nation. Most of the time it hasn't been recorded, but this time it was recorded.

View at YouTube

Jewish lobby groups have long claimed that United Nations councils that discuss matters related to the Middle East are outright anti-Israel. The UN watchdog organization Eye On The UN has released a 3-minute film of a session of the UN Human Rights Council calling it a blatant case of silencing a pro-Israel speaker.

On September 18, 2008, the UN Human Rights Council in Geneva discussed Item 7 on the agenda: "the human rights situation in Palestine and other occupied Arab territories." Time was allotted to hear comments from NGO's at which time a Joint statement of B'nai Brith International and the Coordinating Board of Jewish Organizations was read. The B'nai Brith representative said:[the above video starts with his statement]
"The discussions under this agenda item are not only repetitive in the sense that speaker after speaker accuses Israel of all conceivable human rights violations without any reference to human rights violations committed by Palestinians. These are not only committed against Israeli civilians, but against other… "
At this moment in the film clip, the president of the council interrupted and gave the floor to Egyptian representative Elchin Amirbayov, Vice President of the Human Rights Council, who made a point of order:
"When we allowed and welcomed the participation of NGO's in the work of this council, we expected this to be serious input… But I am sorry, I don't see any seriousness… No amount of diversion can cover what is happening in Palestine. Those who cannot address the facts and the issues on the ground, should not try to distort and waste the time of the council and waste the time allocated to NGO's. This is not seriousness... We did not hear a single serious statement thus far."

The president of the council accepted the point of order by the Egyptian representative.

5th Grader Suspended For Anti-Obama Shirt...

Hat tip to Israel Matzav

When an 11 year-old Dax Dalton of Aurora, Colorado wore a t-shirt to schools stating:

Obama, a terrorist's best friend

He didn't expect to be suspended for it. But that is exactly what happened.

There are many things you cannot wear to school these days, but political buttons and shirts are usually allowed. They are ways to teach politics and political ideas in the classroom. They are symbols of Free Speech. And in this case, it was a form of protest.

An enterprising individual could make a small fortune making these T-Shirts. I for one would buy and wear one myself.

True Sign that the Media is Biased Against Israel.

Yesterday a terrorist used his car to attack a group of Israeli soldiers. 17 Soldiers received light to moderate wounds and the terrorist was killed by an officer with the group.

So how did the media report this?

Israeli Media

An Arab terrorist from eastern Jerusalem ran over a group of soldiers shortly before 11 p.m. Monday night at Kichar Tzahal (IDF Square) near the Jaffa Gate in Jerusalem. The terrorist was shot and killed by an IDF officer in the group.

All of the victims apparently suffered light and moderate injuries, and hospital officials negated earlier reports that two people were seriously injured. Doctors report that the victims were soldiers who had gone to the Old City to participate in the selichot prayers traditionally recited before Rosh Hashanah.

The terrorist was driving a private vehicle when he attacked opposite Jaffa Gate.

Two earlier terrorist attacks this year involved a tractor and bulldozer, killing three Israelis and injuring scores of others. Both of the terrorists were Israeli Arabs from eastern Jerusalem who were working in the city.

Ten of the wounded were evacuated to the Hadassah Ein Kerem hospital, and all of them are conscious and in good condition.

Seven other victims suffered light injuries and were rushed to Shaarei Tzedek

.Jerusalem Post: 15 wounded in terror attack at busy Jerusalem intersection

An Arab resident of east Jerusalem rammed his vehicle into a group of soldiers at a central Jerusalem thoroughfare late Monday night, wounding fifteen people, before being shot dead by an off-duty IDF officer, police and rescue officials said.

It was the third such attack in the city in as many months.

The attack took place at the city's Kikar Tzahal near Jaffa Gate. Two of the casualties were in moderate condition, the rest were lightly hurt.

The assailant, who was driving a BMW, crashed into a group of off-duty soldiers on the sidewalk, where his car came to a grinding halt. The city's police chief said that the lone attacker was an Arab resident of east Jerusalem.

The pedestrians wounded in the attack were rushed to Jerusalem's Hadassah-University Hospital at Ein Kerem, Hadassah-University Hospital on Mount Scopus and the city's Sha'are Tzedek Hospital.

The attack comes after two back-to-back bulldozer attacks in Jerusalem in July which left three Israelis dead and dozens wounded.

Half an hour after the attack, dozens of angry haredi residents chased two Arab locals who happened to be in the area.

Many chanted racist slogans such as "Death to the Arabs" and tried to walk toward the Arab neighborhoods of east Jerusalem. Police on horseback dispersed the haredim, ensuring that the violence did not escalate.

The attack comes after two back-to-back bulldozer attacks in Jerusalem in July which left three Israelis dead and dozens wounded.

Defense Minister Ehud Barak called to expedite legal processes so that security forces could demolish homes of terrorists in order to deter future attacks.

Haim, an American yeshiva student, told the Jerusalem Post he came across the attack as it happened.

Haim said he was walking near the Old City and heard gun shots, there was chaos and he saw wounded people on the ground who seemed to be "in pretty bad shape." The young man told the Post that as he was running away, he saw soldiers running toward the scene loading their rifles.

Hospitals in Jerusalem opened their emergency hot-lines following the incident:

Hadassah-University Hospital at Ein Kerem: 12-551-22
Hadassah-University Hospital on Mount Scopus: 12-551-21
Sha'are Tzedek Medical Center: 12-551-25
Bikur Holim Hospital: 12-551-23
Emergency call center for Olim: 12-550-81010

Jerusalem police chief Aharon Franco said that the attacker was shot dead "within seconds" by an off-duty IDF officer who was touring the city with his unit.

He added that there was no intelligence information ahead of the attack, but noted that Jerusalem was under heavy security alert due to Ramadan.

YNet: Terror attack in Jerusalem, 17 wounded
At least 17 reported wounded as terrorist runs private car into pedestrian crowd at busy intersection in central Jerusalem. Paramedics say two in serious condition. Terrorist reportedly shot dead by IDF officer.

A terrorist driving a black BMW ran his car into a crowd of pedestrians at a busy intersection in central Jerusalem near the Old City on Monday evening.

At least 17 people were confirmed wounded at Zahal Square, all in light-to-moderate condition. Magen David Adom paramedics evacuated those wounded to the Hadassah Ein Karem and Shaare Zedek hospitals for treatment.

Most of those wounded are reportedly soldiers belonging to the Artillery Corps who were on a 'Selichot Tour' in Jerusalem. Selichot are Jewish penitential prayers said during the High Holidays.

The terrorist was reportedly gunned down by an IDF officer.

Rescue services rushed to the scene, and police have blocked traffic in the area. Sappers examined the terrorist's body, fearing he may have been wearing a bomb belt.

The terrorist reportedly began his rampage on Shivtei Yisrael Street. He was shot by armed civilian passersby. Security authorities say they have been able to ascertain the identity of the terrorist, it has not yet been released for publication.

"The terrorist was in a private car, he rammed straight into a group of people touring the area," said first responded Haim Weingreten, a ZAKA volunteer.

Earlier this summer, Jerusalem was the scene of two similar attacks. In the first attack, three people were murdered after an east Jerusalem terrorist went on a rampage with his bulldozer, targeting passersby in central Jerusalem. More than 30 people sustained wounds in the attack.

Three weeks later, a terrorist who went on a similar rampage was shot to death early into his attack. As a result, he was unable to murder anyone, but 18 people were wounded in the attack. The terrorist who perpetrated the second rampage was also from east Jerusalem

So far the truth.

Now let's look at the rest of the world

BBC: Jerusalem car 'attack' hurts 10

A motorist has driven a car at speed into a group of soldiers in the Israeli city of Jerusalem, injuring at least 10 people - one seriously.

"We can confirm it was a terror attack. The man was shot and killed," a police spokesman said.

Eyewitnesses said a security guard at Jerusalem's City Hall fired two bullets at the driver.

The busy road junction was close to the so-called Green Line which separates the Jewish and Arab areas of Jerusalem.

The incident took place just before 2300 (2000 GMT).

Despite the late hour the streets were busy as people walked back from Jerusalem's Old City.

"A man in a vehicle struck a number of people in Kikar Tzahal [also known as Israel Defence Forces Square]," said police spokesman Micky Rosenfeld.

A rescue worker said the group of pedestrians was about to cross the road when the car - apparently a black BMW - struck them.

The identity of the alleged attacker was not immediately known, with reports suggesting he could be Palestinian.

If so, this would be the third such incident of its kind in recent weeks in Jerusalem.

On two previous occasions, Palestinian construction workers from East Jerusalem have driven diggers into oncoming traffic, killing three Israelis and wounding several others.

CNN: Jerusalem driver plows into crowd, injures at least 15

At least 15 people were injured at an intersection in Jerusalem Sunday night when a driver of a car plowed into a group of people, Jerusalem police told CNN.

The driver was shot and killed at the scene, police said. The driver was not immediately identified, but authorities said he was an Arab.

The incident happened about 11 p.m. (4 p.m. ET) at an intersection heavy with pedestrian traffic in central Jerusalem, between the Jewish and Arab sections, near the Old City and the Jaffe Gate.

Authorities said two victims were seriously injured.
Fox News: No report

Notice any differences? The MSM will not use the word: Terrorist. They barely use the word Arab or Palestinian. The BBC uses the term suggesting he could be Palestinian. When in fact not only was he Palestinian, he was a terrorist. And they claim a security guard fired the shots when in fact it was a IDF officer who killed the terrorist.

CNN was just as bad. Calling the terrorist a driver and saying that 2 were seriously injured when they had minor injuries.

But what would their reaction be if an Israeli plowed into a group of Palestinians in this way. They would scream that it was the worst act of terror in years. They would scream how the group of PalArabs was screaming in agony and how they were taken (not rushed) to nearby hospitals. They would call the driver a terrorist.

The difference in the reporting is that in Israel when a terrorist attacks they call it a terrorist attack, and the West just call it something else. And this is another example of the anti-Semitism that is rampant in the West and especially in the Main Stream Media.

Anti-sharia legislation proposed

Tom Tancredo (R-Littleton, CO), pictured right, has proposed legislation that would prevent Shar'ia Law from becoming legally binding in the US. This bill would also deny U.S. visas to advocates of ‘Sharia’ law, expel Islamists already here.
WASHINGTON, DC – Amid disturbing revelations that the verdicts of Islamic Sharia courts are now legally binding in civil cases in the United Kingdom, U.S. Representative Tom Tancredo (R-Littleton) moved quickly today to introduce legislation designed to protect the United States from a similar fate.

According to recent news reports, a new network of Sharia courts in a half-dozen major cities in the U.K. have been empowered under British law to adjudicate a wide variety of legal cases ranging from divorces and financial disputes to those involving domestic violence.

“This is a case where truth is truly stranger than fiction,” said Tancredo. “Today the British people are learning a hard lesson about the consequences of massive, unrestricted immigration.”

Sharia law, favored by Muslim extremists around the world, often calls for brutal punishment – such as the stoning of women who are accused of adultery or have children out of wedlock, cutting off the hands of petty thieves and lashings for the casual consumption of alcohol. Under Sharia law, a woman is often required to provide numerous witnesses to prove rape allegations against an assailant – a near impossible task.

“When you have an immigration policy that allows for the importation of millions of radical Muslims, you are also importing their radical ideology – an ideology that is fundamentally hostile to the foundations of western democracy – such as gender equality, pluralism, and individual liberty,” said Tancredo. “The best way to safeguard America against the importation of the destructive effects of this poisonous ideology is to prevent its purveyors from coming here in the first place.”

Tancredo’s bill, dubbed the “Jihad Prevention Act,” would bar the entry of foreign nationals who advocate Sharia law. In addition, the legislation would make the advocacy of Sharia law by radical Muslims already in the United States a deportable offense.

Tancredo pointed to the results of a recent poll conducted by the Centre for Social Cohesion as evidence that the U.S. should act to prevent the situation in Great Britain from replicating itself here in the United States. The poll found that some 40 percent of Muslim students in the United Kingdom support the introduction of Sharia law there, and 33 percent support the imposition of an Islamic Sharia-based government worldwide.

“We need to send a clear message that the only law we recognize here in America is the U.S. Constitution and the laws passed by our democratically elected representatives,” concluded Tancredo. “If you aren’t comfortable with that concept, you aren’t welcome in the United States.”
From Monkey in the Middle:

I expect to see CAIR and the ACLU start challenges to this bill the minute it is signed into law. And if the Supreme Court has a majority of liberals on it (as it would under Barack Hussein Obama) then not only will this be thrown out but Shar'ia Law and No-Go Zones will become Standard. But if John McCain wins in November, the court will uphold this law.

The stakes this November are very high. For an Obama win is a win for Jihadists everywhere. Is a win for those who will (not might) destroy the very fabric of our society and place instead an Islamic regime, headed by a Muslim: Barack Hussein Obama.

Obama/Hitler They are One! (Video)

Hat tip to PA Pundits

Is Barack Hussein Obama the new Adolf Hitler? Let us look at the comparisons.
Both men talked about change for their nations.
Both men were able to draw large crowds at their rallies.
Both men made women faint.
Both men had a cult like following.
Sound similar to me.
Both men never held high public office before their rise to party prominence.
Both men were befriended by known criminals.
Both men promised better times for their people.
It is very easy to see the similarities in the 2.

In Germany during the 30's and 40's Hitler was compared to Jesus, saying he was the new Messiah. Today the media has said that Barack Hussein Obama is more popular than Jesus. They have called him the new Messiah.

From the Washington Times article Idols and Crowds
"A human group transforms itself into a crowd when it suddenly responds to a suggestion rather than to reasoning, to an image rather than to an idea, to an affirmation rather than to proof, to the repetition of a phrase rather than to arguments, to prestige rather than to competence."

Jean-Francois Revel was not referring to the United States when he wrote those words, nor to his own France, but to human beings in general. He was certainly not referring to Sen. Barack Obama, whom he probably never heard of, since Revel died last year.

To find anything comparable to crowds' euphoric reactions to Mr. Obama, you would have to go back to old newsreels of German crowds in the 1930s, with their adulation of their Fuhrer, Adolf Hitler. With hindsight, we can look back on those people with pity, knowing now how many of them would be led to their deaths by the man they idolized.

The exultation of the moment can exact a brutal price after that moment has passed. Nowhere is that truer than when it comes to picking the leader of a nation, which means entrusting that leader with the fate of millions today and of generations yet unborn.

A leader does not have to be evil to lead a country into a catastrophe. Inexperience and incompetence can create very similar results, perhaps even faster in a nuclear age, when even "a small country" - as Mr. Obama called Iran - can wreak havoc anywhere in the world, when they are led by suicidal fanatics and supply nuclear weapons to terrorists who are likewise suicidal fanatics.

Barack Obama is truly a phenomenon of our time - a presidential candidate who cannot cite a single serious accomplishment in his entire career, besides advancing his own career with rhetoric.

He has a rhetorical answer for everything. (Emphasis mine.) Those of us who talk about the threat of Iran are just engaging in "the politics of fear" according to Mr. Obama, something to distract us from "the real issues," such as raising taxes and handing out largess with the proceeds.

Those who have studied the years leading up to World War II have been astonished by how many people and how many countries failed to see what Adolf Hitler was getting ready to do.

Even though Hitler telegraphed his punches, few people seemed to get the message. Books about that period have had such titles as "The Gathering Storm" and "Why England Slept."

We are seeing the rise of a new Hitler. But unlike Germany in the 20's, Obama cannot openly come out and spout his anti-Semitic rhetoric (which he learned from his mentor, Jeremiah Wright) in fear of losing the Jewish vote. Nor can he come right out and spout his anti-American rhetoric (which he learn from his dear friend Bill Ayers) in fear of losing white voters.

Barack Hussein Obama must lie to the American voters to get elected. He is a great orator (so was Hitler) and can woo the nation's youth with his silken tongue. But like any serpent many are seeing through him. On of them is Pastor James David Manning of the ATLAH World Ministries. This video is from a sermon he gave on 7 June 2008.

As a Jew I don't see Barack Hussein Obama as another Rev. Martin Luther King Jr, or another John F. Kennedy, I see him as the next Adolf Hitler. A man who is promising everything to every one and in the end will destroy this nation and its ideals.

He is gone!

It is official, Ehud Olmert is gone. After a disastrous 2 years, a costly failure in Lebanon, and 5 corruption probes by the police (he is finally being indited), Ehud Olmert has handed his resignation to President Shimon Peres.

Thirty-three months after he dramatically filling in for a stroke-stricken Ariel Sharon, Prime Minister Ehud Olmert - facing a number of corruption allegations - formally tendered his resignation to President Shimon Peres on Sunday evening.

Olmert entered and left Beit Hanassi by a side entrance, thereby avoiding the press, and met with Peres for some 30 minutes.

Following the meeting, the president met the media and said this was a "difficult evening" for Olmert, and that he appreciated "the respectful way in which he is handing over his power."

Peres read from a prepared text and thanked Olmert "for his service to the people and the state over the course of many years of public activities."

"The safety of the State of Israel and the welfare of its citizens were central to his actions as prime minister," Peres said, adding that "some of these will remain unknown."
He should have handed in his resignation right after the Lebanese War of 2006, but instead stayed in power for another 29 months. Months in which saw Israel being attacked daily, a demoralized IDF and a sense of failure in the nation.

The Kadima party held its primary this week and
Tzipi Livni has gained control of its leadership. As foreign minister Livni has been instrumental in the push for a divided Jerusalem and the 2 state solution. Whether this was done on Olmert's orders or by her own admission, one cannot say. But her feet are now over the fire and she will have a lot of work to do. Many concerns are on her agenda, not the least is what to do about Iran.

Let us hope that she will have the balls to do the right thing.

Lauren Booth Eats Her Words in Gaza 'Concentration Camp'

Now that the world has seen the truth in these pictures from Gaza, Lauren Booth, sister-in-law to Tony Blair (the appeaser), is still screaming about how Gaza is a Concentration Camp and there have been more deaths in Gaza than in Darfur.

Lauren Booth shopping in a Gazan Shop

Lauren Booth leaving the same shop. Look at the bags of donated food that is being sold there.

Some siege. There is more food there than there was in New Orleans after Katrina. A heck of a lot of food there. And that store is better stocked than many liquor stores in my neighborhood. Every one should be under siege like that.

Nor will you find any starving children. Yet according to Lauren Booth, more Gazans have died than people in Darfur.
She has called the region a "concentration camp" that is "under siege" by Israel's having restricted crossings due to continuing terrorist attacks against Israel.

Pro-Arab activists and Hamas leaders have insisted that restricting shipments into Gaza to trucks with humanitarian supplies have created a severe food shortage, a situation contradicted by the photograph.

In an interview with an Israeli newspaper last week, Booth said that conditions in Gaza are worse than those in Darfur and compared the area with Nazi concentration camps.

Booth is among 10 pro-Arab activists who remain in Gaza after having sailed to the beach as part of the "Free Gaza' Movement" publicity stunt that symbolically broke Israel's sovereignty over coastal waters. The government declared before the withdrawal of the IDF from Gaza three years ago that it would maintain control over the sea and air space around and over Gaza until the Palestinian Authority can show it is fighting terror.

Meanwhile, Booth has been unable to leave the area because Egyptian and Israeli authorities have not allowed her to enter their countries. She probably will leave Gaza if and when the next Free Gaza boats again try to break Israeli sovereignty next week.

In an interview with Canadian-born free-lance journalist Lisa Goldman, who blogs at On the Face and lives in Tel Aviv, Booth claimed that "high up sources" told her that Israel pressured Egypt not to allow her to cross the border at Rafiah.

Goldman wrote in her blog that she is against Israel's closing the Gaza crossing but that she has no respect for Booth. The writer said that when she identified herself as a reporter from Tel Aviv, Booth "launched into a tirade that was characterized by a mixture of hectoring, self-righteousness, drama and the occasional falsehood."

Booth confirmed that she had said that the situation of "concentration camps" in Gaza received less media attention than the situation in Darfur. Goldman then wrote, "I did a search on Google news for 'Darfur,' where 400,000 people have been killed over the past five years, and received 13,912 results. A search for 'Gaza,' where, according to B'Tselem, 810 Palestinians were killed in 2006-2007, brought up 17,605 results.

Booth also has claimed that Israeli solders threatened to shoot her when she tried to cross into Israel. "There were Israeli soldiers on the Gaza side of Erez?" Goldman asked. "Oh, I don’t know what they were. They were uniformed men with guns, all right?" Booth replied.

When the reporter replied that the gunmen apparently were Arabs and asked Booth if they had stopped her, she answered, "The Palestinians advised me not to cross, but I walked right into the tunnel and started walking. I was nearly at the Israeli side when a Palestinian man came running up behind me, holding a mobile phone and shouting that the Israelis had told him they would shoot me if I took another step."

Goldman pointed out that the likelihood of an IDF soldier shooting at her is extremely low. "The entrance to Israel via Erez is practically impenetrable," Goldman explained. "It is a maze of turnstiles that lock automatically, bulletproof glass, closed circuit cameras and disembodied voices that issue instructions via the public address system. One does not see an Israeli soldier until one has passed through security, which is remotely controlled."

So all uniformed men are Israeli soldiers. I see that Lauren Booth is a product of the same liberal educational system as Rachel Corrie. Poor and full of moonbat ideals. Both idiots were never taught to think or use their brains. but to do that, would mean that she never would have gone to Gaza in the first place. Thinking men and women do use their brains and know the difference between a Concentration Camp and Gaza, between the ongoing Genocide happening in Darfur and Gaza, between lies and truth.

In the last 5 years over 400,000 men, women and children have been murdered in Darfur. In the last 2 years 810 PalArabs have been murdered in Gaza, mostly by their own people. Just do the searches. Darfur and Gaza. When you do, you discover what most of us know:

The horror that is Gaza is being caused by Hamas!

You knew you grew up Jewish if:

You watched Ed Sullivan every Sunday night, and your parents laughed out loud at Myron Cohen (if you don't know who Myron Cohen is, don't bother reading any further).

You spent your entire childhood thinking everyone called pot roast "brisket."

You grew up thinking it was normal for someone to shout "Are you okay? Are you okay?" through the bathroom door when you were in there longer than 3 minutes.

Your family dog responded to commands in Yiddish.

Every Saturday morning your father went to the neighborhood deli (called an "appetizing store") for whitefish salad, whitefish ("chubs"), lox (nova if you were rich!), herring, corned beef, roast beef, cole slaw, potato salad, a 1/2-dozen huge barrel pickles, a dozen assorted bagels, cream cheese and rye bread (sliced while he waited) .. all of which would be strictly off-limits until Sunday morning.

Every Sunday afternoon was spent visiting your grandparents and/or other relatives.

You experienced the phenomenon of 50 people fitting into a 10-foot-wide dining room hitting each other with plastic plates trying to get to a deli tray.

You had at least one female relative who penciled on eyebrows which were always asymmetrical.

You thought pasta was stuff used exclusively for Kugel and kasha with bowties.

You were as tall as your grandmother by the age of seven.

You were as tall as your grandfather by the age seven and a half.

You never knew anyone whose last name didn't end in one of 5 standard suffixes (berg, baum, man, stein and witz.)

You were surprised to discover that wine doesn't always taste like cranberry sauce.

You can look at gefilte fish and not turn green.

Your mother smacked you really hard and continues to make you feel bad for hurting her hand.

You can understand Yiddish but you can't speak it.

You know how to pronounce numerous Yiddish words and use them correctly in context, yet you don't exactly know what they mean. Kinahurra.

You're still angry at your parents for not speaking both Yiddish and English to you when you were a baby.

You have at least one ancestor who is somehow related to your spouse's ancestor.

Your grandparent's newly washed linoleum floor was covered with the NY Times, which your grandparents could not read.

You thought speaking loud was normal.

You considered your Bar or Bat Mitzvah a "Get Out of Hebrew School Free"card.

You think eating half a jar of dill pickles is a wholesome snack.

You're compelled to mention your grandmother's "steel cannonballs" upon seeing fluffy matzo balls served at restaurants.

You buy 3 shopping bags worth of hot bagels on every trip to NYC and ship them home via FedEx. (Or, if you live near NYC or Philadelphia or another Jewish city hub, you drive 3 hours just to buy a dozen "real" bagels.)

Your mother took personal pride when a Jew was noted for some accomplishment (showbiz, medicine, politics, etc.) and was ashamed and embarrassed when a Jew was accused of a crime .. as if they were relatives.

You thought sleepaway college was only where non-Jews went ... Jews went to city schools ... unless they had scholarships or made an Ivy League school.

And finally, you knew that Sunday night and the night after any Jewish holiday was designated for Chinese food.

How Obama will spend your hard earned tax dollars.

With the problems with the US economy and crippling debt to the nation, instead of finding ways to cut our costs, Barack Hussein Obama proposes more wasteful spending. This time it is to the United Nations Development Program.
Barack Obama, who lamented Friday that “we have not managed our federal budget with any kind of discipline,” is nonetheless promising to spend $50 billion on a United Nations anti-poverty program that critics say will drive up American debt.

Yet Obama and his running mate, Joe Biden, have pledged tens of billions in new spending on a U.N. program that promises cash to poor countries. The program is one of eight sweeping “Millennium Development Goals” the U.N. adopted in 2000.

“Obama and Biden will embrace the Millennium Development Goal of cutting extreme poverty around the world in half by 2015, and they will double our foreign assistance to $50 billion to achieve that goal,” the candidates vow in their campaign platform.

Johns Hopkins professor Steve Hanke said such spending would merely drive up American debt, while doing almost nothing for the world’s poor.

“It goes down a bureaucratic rat-hole, lining the pockets of people who are connected to the power structure,” said Hanke, a senior fellow at the Cato Institute. “It’s basically a system to redistribute income from middle class people in the United States to rich people in poor countries. It never reaches those people who are living on a dollar a day.”

Hanke said such expenditures are especially unwise in the wake of significant expansions of government and spending during President Bush’s tenure.

Full Story

Why should the United States have to be responsible for problems of poverty around the world? According to Senator Obama and the Democratic Leadership, there is a great amount of poverty here in the US. Shouldn't we deal with our own problems first?

Why not ask those nice rich Saudis to foot the bill for this one, or the Iranians, or the Venezuelans, or the nice rich emir of Dubai? They have plenty of money lying around to finance many mosques, terror groups, etc. They should be footing this bill instead of us.

To give more money to the UN Development Program is like flushing it down the toilet. It is a cesspool of corruption and greed.

Nearly 18 months after the United Nations Development Program promised to shed daylight on its internal operations to the countries that pay its bills, is the U.N.'s flagship anti-poverty agency going to live up to the deal?

That is one of the main issues in a tussle currently taking place within UNDP's 37-member executive board, which supervises the organization, and which winds up its semi-annual meeting today in New York.

The battle is led by the U.S. and a number of other Western nations that pay most of the UNDP's bills (the U.S. alone donates roughly $500 million annually to UNDP). Some of the Western states are concerned that UNDP is still trying to keep its $5 billion operations — and any problems it has with them — under as many wraps as possible. For its part, UNDP says it is happy to cooperate if only all the countries that make up its board can agree. The outcome of the battle is still uncertain.

The issue revolves in part around UNDP's disclosure of its internal audits to U.N. members that request them — a policy that became a hot button a year ago, when the U.S. demanded to look at UNDP audits for North Korea. The audits, conducted periodically of all UNDP programs, examine how the organization is spending its money and whether it is following its own rules while doing so. Traditionally, UNDP's top managers have considered them to be "management tools," and insisted they be kept confidential, even from the governing executive board.

But all that began to change in 2007, when U.S. diplomats got to examine a series of UNDP audits of its programs in North Korea. After reading them the U.S. accused UNDP of funneling millions of dollars in hard currency to the Kim regime, hiring North Korean government employees to fill sensitive UNDP jobs in the country, and passing on sensitive "dual use" technology that could be used in North Korea's nuclear program, all in violation of U.N. rules. Moreover, UNDP auditors had passed on many of those concerns to top management; nothing was done.

The essence of the U.S. charges was vindicated, and then some, in a special investigation of UNDP's operations in North Korea, which reported in June of this year. The lengthy document not only buttressed most of the U.S. charges, but also reported that a North Korean government employee who served as UNDP's finance officer also verified the receipt of the checks she wrote, in violation of one of UNDP's most fundamental anti-fraud rules.

Full Story
Fraud, mismanagement, greed is just some of the words to describe the UN in general the its Development Program exactly. Yet Senator Obama will just throw them more and more of our taxpayer money.

This is just one more Communist idea from the closet communist. It is bad for the US and the American taxpayer in general.

And just another reason not to vote for Barack Hussein Obama in November!

Dumb and Dumber in Dallas

We live in an era where looks are more important than personality. Where intelligence is frowned upon. And where schools are not in the business of educating children but encouraging their self-esteem and other ego boosting ideas. So it doesn't surprise me one bit that the schools in Dallas, Texas have lowered the standards for grades.
Teachers and parents in Dallas, Texas, are angry about new grading policies that they say are dumbing down the district and pushing students through the system who haven't earned it.

One of the most contentious of the policies allows a student who fails a test to retake it, with the lower score being tossed out.

"Instead of setting high expectations and the high standards and holding them to that, we seem to be wanting to lower the bar and give them an excuse not to succeed," said Dale Kaiser, president of the National Education Association, the teachers union.

Dallas Independent School District officials refused multiple interview requests from CNN. But in interviews with CNN affiliates and in documents outlining the grading policy, district officials say the goal of the grading system is to emphasize learning, not failure.
Why should Johnny learn anything? You give him no reason to learn, he's going to pass the class whether he does anything or not.
The policy allowing failed test scores to be thrown out is just one of several changes to the grading policy that went into effect at the start of this school year.

Other grading policies include:
  • For elementary and middle school students, only homework grades "that raise a student's average" will be recorded.
  • Students must be given one opportunity to turn in homework assignments that weren't finished on time.
  • Parents must be contacted before a teacher records a zero in the grade book.
What? No smiley faces and gold stars? And this is going to help students be prepared for the work place when and if they graduate? No. What this does is prepare students for welfare, for government handouts, for a belief of entitlement. This doesn't help any student learn.

A small committee of administrators and teachers wrote the new grading policy. The goal, they say, is to keep kids in school and prevent them from getting discouraged and dropping out.

"What we're really interested in is 'Are the children learning?' and if they're not, we need intervention immediately. This system does that," said Jerome Garza, a district school board trustee.

But teachers and parents say students who fail to perform or turn homework in on time need to learn there are consequences for such behavior. They worry this new system will create an atmosphere of mediocrity.

Try more an atmosphere of stupidity. And notice that not one parent was on that "committee". The district decided this insanity all by itself without notifying or input from any parent. And it is their children, not the administrators or teachers children.

The administration says that they can spot children with problems faster this way. How? A failing grade is the best indication of a problem with a child. The first time a teacher would see a child's grades falling past a certain level, a letter home (or call to the parents) would be sent. A meeting could be arranged and options for helping the child can be discussed. All this without administrators, psychologists, and other so-called child development experts getting involved. The cost is less and the the results are better.

So now Dallas has a system in place that rewards stupidity and laziness. In 12 years will the graduates of this system be able to work without such rewards? I doubt it.

Does my baby not have the right to be protected? Does he not have the right to life?

Imagine yourself a young mother with a one-year old child. Imagine that you have only 15 seconds from when the warning is sounded to get to safety or you and/or your child will be injured or killed. This is the reality for those mothers who live in Sderot. Mothers like
Dena Cohen.
With her baby in her hands, Sderot mother Dena Cohen has only 15 seconds to dash to safety when she hears the warning siren of an impending rocket attack ring out across her hometown of Sderot.

On Thursday, she was the first resident of that city to address the United Nation's Human Rights Council and to give them an intimate portrait of what it was like to live under the constant rocket threat from the Palestinians in neighboring Gaza.

She spoke on the same day that Archbishop Desmond Tutu addressed the council and condemned Israel's 2006 shelling of the Palestinian
village of Beit Hanoun, in which 19 civilians were killed.

"All human life is equal and all innocent suffering is tragic," said Cohen. But, she told the Council, it should also understand what it is live on the Israeli side of the border, knowing that a rocket could fall at any time.

Cohen, 22, who has a one-year-old son, said, "Every night, before falling asleep, I face the same dilemma. What will happen if a rocket falls on my son's room?"

"We have fifteen seconds between the alarm and the explosion. Fifteen seconds to run to the closest shelter. In which direction to go? How to react?" she asked.

During the winter, she said, a rocket fell near their home, shattering the windows.

Photo: Ariel Jerozolimski

A shard from that rocket injured their eight-year old neighbor, Osher Twito, who lost his leg as a result. His eighteen-year-old brother was also seriously wounded, Cohen told the Council.

"I will never forget their cries. Every time the alarm sounds, I know that this situation can happen again, or even end more tragically," Cohen said.

Sderot, she said, is a city in shock. At any moment an alarm can sound that would send its 20,000 residents racing for cover.

Since Israel withdrew from Gaza, the Palestinians there have launched thousands of rockets in the direction of the south, she said.

"I would like to ask: Does my baby not have the right to be protected? Does he not have the right to life?" said Cohen.

The Council is dominated by Muslim nations and has been widely cited for frequently and heavily criticizing Israel while virtually ignoring rights problems elsewhere in the world.

Tutu tried to strike a balanced tone Thursday when he said that the council should look at suffering of both Israelis and Palestinians.

But he also said in compiling a report on Israeli-Palestinian violence for the council that he had been struck by the lack of international concern for Palestinians.
"The international community is failing to fulfill its role in respect of the suffering of the people of Gaza," he said.

Desmond Tutu should go back to South Africa and look to the injustice and discrimination in his own land. His place is there. It is well known to the world that Desmond Tutu, like so many Africans is an anti-Semite and would love to see every Jew in the world killed. Heck he would love to be doing the killing.

Dena Cohen doesn't have the world's media on her side. They side with those who are trying to kill her and her son. Those who wish, like Desmond Tutu and Barack Hussein Obama, to finish the job that Hitler started. No one cares about Dena Cohen in this world.

In other news from Sderot:

Rocket fire from Gaza breaks ceasefire again
By Spencer Ho

A Qassam missile fired by terrorists in Gaza struck just outside of a residential neighborhood in the west end of Sderot, causing a small brush fire at a construction site.

No injuries were reported.

This was the first incident of Qassam fire in the western Negev since terrorists fired two Qassams Aug. 25, after which Defense Minister Ehud Barak closed crossings between Gaza and Israel, except for humanitarian purposes, for nearly two days.

View video here

The cease-fire is over it seems. As if the rockets ever stopped. More and more Israelis will be running for cover. Code Red will sound and they will have only 15 seconds to get to safety. How many more Osher Twitos will there be? How many more mothers will grieve over their sons and daughters? How long do the people of Sderot and the Western Negev have to live through this horror.

I ask you to dig deep into your pockets and to click the logo below. Give a little or a lot. The money you give goes directly to the people of the area. And feel free to cross post this at will.
