Report on Campus Anti-Semitism

Jerry Sobol, writing in Arutz Sheva, describes the problem of campus anti-Semitism in the US. Not surprisingly, most of it is focused on the University of California campuses and describes specific  incidents, many of which I am familiar with.

Comment:

In the interest of full disclosure, Tammi Rossman-Benjamin and Leila Beckwith are friends and colleagues, with whom I have worked on this issue. I have also had the pleasure of meeting and corresponding with Jessica Felber. They are all mentioned in the above report.

I should also mention that for the past few years, the Muslim Student Union, when they hold their anti-Israel week every May at UC Irvine, always open with a preamble, if you will, that they are not anti-Semitic just anti-Zionist. They also make it a point to bring in speakers who are anti-Israel Jews. The problem is that some of the speakers they bring in often make anti-Jewish remarks or have a previous history of anti-Semitic rhetoric.  I refer specifically to Amir Abdel Malik Ali, Abdul Alim Musa, and Mohammed al Asi, all of whom have spoken  at UCI on behalf of the MSU over the years-and in my presence.

Is there a problem of anti-Semitism on US college campuses? You bet there is. Is it being ignored or swept under the rug by university administrators and the media? You bet it is.

Reynolds v. United States

Now that the US Supreme Court has decided that it is ok for gays to marry, polygamists now demand the same.  But contrary to those decisions, the issue of polygamy has been decided in 1878.

Reynolds v. United States - 98 U.S. 145 (1878)

U.S. Supreme Court

ERROR TO THE SUPREME COURT OF THE TERRITORY OF UTAH

Syllabus

1. Sect. 808 of the Revised Statutes, providing for impaneling grand juries and prescribing the number of which they shall consist, applies only to the Circuit and the District Courts of the United States. An indictment for bigamy under sect. 5352 may, therefore, be found in a district court of Utah, by a grand jury of fifteen persons, impaneled pursuant to the laws of that Territory.

2. A petit juror in a criminal case testified on his voire dire that he believed that he had formed an opinion, although not upon evidence produced in court, as to the guilt or innocence of the prisoner, but that he had not expressed it, and did not think that it would influence his verdict. He was thereupon challenged by the prisoner for cause. The court overruled the challenge. Held, that its action was not erroneous.

3. Where it is apparent from the record that the challenge of a petit juror, if it had been made by the United States for favor, should have been sustained, the judgment against the prisoner will not be reversed simply because the challenge was in form for cause.

4. Although the Constitution declares that, in all criminal prosecutions, the accused shall enjoy the right to be confronted with the witnesses against him, yet, if they are absent by his procurement, or when enough has been proved to cast upon him the burden of showing, and he, having full opportunity therefor, fails to show that he has not been instrumental in concealing them or in keeping them away, he is in no condition to assert that his constitutional right has been violated by allowing competent evidence of the testimony which they gave on a previous trial between the United States and him upon the same issue. Such evidence is admissible.

5. Said sect. 5352 is in all respects constitutional and valid.

6. The scope and meaning of the first article of the amendments to the Constitution discussed.

7. A party's religious belief cannot be accepted as a justification for his committing an overt act, made criminal by the law of the land. Where, therefore, the prisoner, knowing that his wife was living, married again in Utah, and, when indicted and tried therefor, set up that the church whereto he belonged enjoined upon its male members to practice polygamy, and that he, with the sanction of the recognized authorities of the church, and by a ceremony performed pursuant to its doctrines, did marry again -- held, that the court properly refused to charge the jury that he was entitled to an acquittal although they should find that he had contracted such second marriage pursuant to, and in conformity with, what he believed at the time to be a religious duty.

8. The court told the jury to "consider what are to be the consequences to the innocent victims of this delusion [the doctrine of polygamy]. As this contest goes on, they multiply, and there are pure-minded women and there are innocent children -- innocent in a sense even beyond the degree of the innocence of childhood itself. These are to be the sufferers; and as jurors fail to do their duty, and as these cases come up in the Territory of Utah, just so do these victims multiply and spread themselves over the land."

Held, that the charge was not improper.

He'll Come Home If You Obey His Conditions!

Is the ultimatum Lonnie Snowden, the father of Edward Snowden told NBC's Michael Isikoff on TODAY
The father of former U.S. spy agency contractor Edward Snowden said in an interview that while he has not had recent contact with him, he is reasonably confident his son would return to the United States if certain conditions were met.

“At this point I don't feel that he's committed treason. He has in fact broken U.S. law, in a sense that he has released classified information,” Lonnie Snowden told NBC’s Michael Isikoff in an exclusive interview that aired on TODAY. “And if folks want to classify him as a traitor, in fact he has betrayed his government. But I don't believe that he's betrayed the people of the United States."

Snowden said he has told Attorney General Eric Holder through his lawyer that his son will probably return home if the Justice Department promises not to detain him before a trial nor subject him to a gag order. He also wants his son to choose where a trial would take place.

Earlier this week, U.S. Sen. Robert Menendez, the New Jersey Democrat who heads the Senate Foreign Relations Committee, promised to block renewal of the pact if Snowden were to receive asylum.

"Our government will not reward countries for bad behavior," he said in a statement.

SOURCE
Does this idiot really believe that his bastard son will be able to be free to come and go, speak out loud about his crime and decide where he is to stand trial?  Then he is out of his mind.  If Snowden never returns to the US his parents will never see him again since The State Department can refuse them a passport.  It is even money that their phones are tapped and their bank accounts frozen.  Take away Snowden's funds and he just might return on his own.

Russia Is Pulling Out Of Syria

And they are doing it fast.  Very fast.

You know that things are heating up in Syria when longtime ally of Bashar al-Assad's Syria is pulling their troops out of Syria.  Add to that Israel going on high alert, President Obama and his Security Council is not concerned, and one can expect the area to blow up soon.
Shortly after the DEBKA aired a special video on the Syrian war’s widening circle, Moscow announced Wednesday June 26, that the evacuation which had begun Friday of all military and diplomatic personnel from Syria was now complete, including the Russian naval base at Tartus.

“Russia decided to withdraw its personnel because of the risks from the conflict in Syria, as well as the fear of an incident involving the Russian military that could have larger consequences,” said a defense ministry official in Moscow. He stressed that a 16-ship naval task force in the eastern Mediterranean remains on post and arms shipments, including anti-air weapons, would continue to the Syrian government in keeping with former contracts.

In another sign of an impending escalation in Syria, the Israeli Golan brigade staged Wednesday an unannounced war maneuver on the Golan, attended by Prime Minister Binyamin Netanyahu and top army chiefs. In London, Prime Minister David Cameron called the government’s National Security Council into session in Downing Street on Syria. Opposition leader Ed Milliband was invited to attend the meeting, a custom observed only when issues of the highest security importance are discussed.

Earlier Wednesday, debkafile carried the following report in its special video presentation under the heading: Putin and Obama cross swords on Syrian. What Next?

The sullen confrontation between Presidents Vladimir Putin and Barack Obama at the G8 Summit in Northern Ireland last week condemned Syria to five months of escalating, unresolved vicious warfare – that is until the two leaders meet again in September.

For now, tempers are heating up between Washington and Moscow on Syria and other things too, notably the elusive American fugitive Edward Snowden.

Click here if the video doesn't load.

US and Israeli intelligence watchers see the Syrian crisis entering seven ominous phases:

1. The Syrian army plus allies and the fully-mobilized opposition will hurl all their manpower and weapons into winning the city.

Military experts don’t expect the rebels to hold out against Assad’s forces beyond late August.

2. Neither side has enough manpower or game-changing weaponry for winning the war outright.

That is, unless Presidents Obama or Putin steps in to retilt the balance.

3. The US and Russia are poised for more military intervention in the conflict up until a point just short of a military clash on Syrian soil – or elsewhere in the Middle East. US intelligence analysts have judged Putin ready to go all the way on Syria against the US - no holds barred.

The Russian president is meanwhile deliberately goading Washington and raising temperatures by playing hide-and-seek over the former NSA contractor Edward Snowden, charged with espionage for stealing and leaking classified intelligence. At home, he is considered variously as a traitor and a brave whistleblower.

For several hours Snowden vanished between Hong Kong and Moscow – until the Russian president admitted he was holed up in the transit area of Moscow airport and would not be extradited by Russia to the United States.

4. Iran, Hizballah and Iraq will likewise ratchet up their battlefield presence.

5. A violent encounter is building up between Middle East Shiites flocking to Syria to save the Assad regime alongside Russia, and the US-backed Sunni-dominated rebel forces.

It could scuttle the secret US-Iranian negotiating track on its nuclear program, which was buoyed up by the election of the pragmatic Hassan Rouhani as President of Iran.

6. The Geneva-2 Conference for a political solution for the Syrian crisis is dead in the water. Moscow and the US are divided by unbridgeable issues of principle, such whether Bashar Assad should stay or go and Iranian representation.

7. So long as the diplomatic remains stuck in the mud, the prospects of a regional war spreading out of the Syrian conflict are rising. Iran, Israel, Jordan and Lebanon may be dragged in at any moment – if they have not already, like Lebanon.

A small mistake by one of the Syrian warring parties in Syria could, for example, touch off Israeli retaliation and a wholesale spillover of violence.

More Beheadings in Syria-Why We Should Stay Out

Viewer warning

Another day in Syria; another day of beheadings. The al Qaeda-connected group carrying out this gruesome act is reportedly one of those groups we will be providing arms to -or at least knives.

http://www.liveleak.com/view?i=d38_1372192265

http://atlasshrugs2000.typepad.com/atlas_shrugs/

According to Atlas Shrugs, there are Russian voices in that tape, apparently with accents indicating they come from Chechnia or Daghestan. Remember the Brothers Tsarnaev? They got into our country and are not only now known as the Boston bombers, but are suspects in an earlier murder of three Jews in Boston, whose throats were slashed.

And note the presence in the video of so many children. They are the next generation. Are we going to bring them to the US as "refugees" also? How many Americans will die in that cause?

Once again, I ask the question: What if these three men seen in the video were American troops-your son. your husband, your father, your brother? Would you still want us to send troops into that region? Granted, Bashar Assad is a horrible dictator and his troops have killed tens of thousands of innocents in Syria. So how many American soldiers are you willing to lose in this fashion to get rid of Assad?

"Oh", but you say, "those fighters wouldn't do that to us. They are on our side."

So were the killers in Benghazi, we thought.

ADHD A Fictitious Disease

Is what the father of ADHD admitted before his death.  A big scam to make money for the doctors, for Big Pharma, and an excuse for an inept school system which cannot control a freethinking child.
(NaturalNews) If you or someone you know has a child that has been diagnosed with attention deficit hyperactivity disorder (ADHD), chances are the child is actually just fine. At least this is what the "father" of ADHD, Leon Eisenberg, would presumably say if he were still alive. On his death bed, this psychiatrist and autism pioneer admitted that ADHD is essentially a "fictitious disease," which means that millions of young children today are being needlessly prescribed severe mind-altering drugs that will set them up for a life of drug addiction and failure.

As explained by The Sons of Liberty host Bradlee Dean, who also writes for The D.C. Clothesline, ADHD was merely a theory developed by Eisenberg. It was never actually proven to exist as a verifiable disease, despite the fact that Eisenberg and many others profited handsomely from its widespread diagnosis. And modern psychiatry continues to profit as well, helping also to fill the coffers of the pharmaceutical industry by getting children addicted early to dangerous psychostimulant drugs like Ritalin (methylphenidate) and Adderall (amphetamine, dextroamphetamine mixed salts).

"ADHD is fraud intended to justify starting children on a life of drug addiction," said Dr. Edward C. Hamlyn, a founding member of the Royal College of General Practitioners, back in 1998 about the phony condition. Adding to this sentiment, psychiatrists Peter Breggin and Sami Timimi, both of whom oppose pathologizing the symptoms of ADHD, say that ADHD is more of a social construct than it is an objective "disorder."

The purpose all along for pathologizing ADHD symptoms, of course, was to generate more profits for the drug industry. According to the citizen watchdog group Citizens Commission on Human Rights International (CCHRI), roughly 20 million American children today are taking dangerous, but expensive, psychiatric drugs for made-up behavioral conditions like ADHD. And another one million or so children have been blatantly and admittedly misdiagnosed with phony behavioral conditions for which psychiatric medications are being prescribed.

"Remember, there are two ways drug companies can make money: Invent new drugs, and invent new diseases already invented drugs can treat," writes Dr. Jay Parkinson, M.D., M.P.H., about the fake disease-creation industry. "In the past decade or so, Big Pharma has created no less than 10 new novel drugs per year," he adds, noting that many of the people who have been told they suffer from ADHD actually suffer from "the consequence of bad design," meaning a conventional social and educational system that is unable and unwilling to recognize unique individuality.

This is definitely true for Jacob Barnett, the 14-year-old autistic genius whose mother was told that her son would probably never read or write. Today, Jacob is already working on his Master's Degree in quantum physics while most of his peers are still in junior high. He is also currently developing his own original theory in astrophysics, according to recent reports.

"The psychiatric/pharmaceutical industry spends billions of dollars a year to convince the public, legislators and the press that psychiatric disorders such as Bi-Polar Disorder, Depression, Attention Deficit Disorder (ADD/ADHD), Post Traumatic Stress Disorder, etc. are medical diseases on par with verifiable medical conditions such as cancer, diabetes and heart disease," explains CCHRI. "Yet unlike real medical disease, there are no scientific tests to verify the medical existence of any psychiatric disorder."

Two generations of children addicted to very powerful mind altering drugs.  Two generations of children that cannot live a normal life without these drugs.

 Most children are a little hyperactive.  They have a lot of energy and need to release it.  (I think they siphon it from the nearest adult they meet.)  And many parents aren't in their 20's.  With people having their first child in their 30's or 40's, they find the normal active child a bit much for them.  They go to their Pediatrician and DEMAND that he or she gives little Johnny or Jane a pill to calm them down.  If they just stopped giving their children sugary snacks and soda the problem would be solved in most cases.

This like many other psychiatric disorders have never been subjected to scientific tests.  They are based on anecdotal evidence.  In the scientific establishment anecdotal evidence has never been accepted as proper evidence.

I Want To Be Free!

Stolen (with permission) from Faultline USA

Bring Back the Magna Carta!
A Commentary by J. D. Longstreet

I have had it, up to the gills, with the federal government acting as some sort of over-protective parent or nanny. I just want to be let alone! In other words -- I want what the US Constitution is supposed to guarantee me. I want to be FREE!

Just leave me, the h**l, alone!

Pathetic, huh? You bet it is.

The last thing you're gonna get in America today is --- let alone!

Heck, we even fought a war over it and over 700,000 Americans lost their lives because a portion of the country asked -- and then insisted -- upon being let alone.

"We feel that our cause is just and holy; we protest solemnly in the face of mankind that we desire peace at any sacrifice save that of honor and independence; we seek no conquest, no aggrandizement, no concession of any kind from the States with which we were lately confederated; all we ask is to be let alone; that those who never held power over us shall not now attempt our subjugation by arms." Jefferson Davis, President of the Confederate States of America, Monday, April 29, 1861.

Well, we all know how THAT turned out.

It should have been a tip-off as to the direction the US would be taking during and after the war. And it WAS.

For those who have spent the time and devoted themselves to the study of that period of US history it is obvious that the southern states where suspicious that the US was moving toward a far stronger central government than they were comfortable with -- what with their Celtic ancestry. But that's another story for another time.

I nearly wrote that "we'd made full circle" ... but we haven't ... not really. In fact, ever since the American Civil War the United States government has grown ever stronger squeezing the personal freedom and liberty of all Americans into a smaller and smaller box.

Today we find ourselves without privacy, our lives laid bare before the prying eyes and ears of the government -- in and out of our homes. The Fourth Amendment to the constitution has been all but shredded. American citizens are now approaching the conditions Englishmen were enduring as vassals to their king before the Magna Carta which was signed 798 years ago this month (on June 15th).

The Great Charter of the Liberties of England "was the first document forced onto a King of England by a group of his subjects, the feudal barons, in an attempt to limit his powers by law and protect their privileges." SOURCE

The Magna Carta is extremely important to Americans as England's legal system was used as a model for most of the American colonies in developing their own legal systems.

Back when our public school system, oft referred to today as the "government school system," taught REAL history, not the revisionist propaganda they teach today, every American schoolboy knew that the Magna Carta influenced the early settlers in New England and inspired later constitutional documents, including the United States Constitution.

Ask an American schoolboy today about the Magna Carta and you are likely to get remarks referencing a large bore hand gun or a powerful all terrain vehicle, uh, between the blank stares, that is.

Yes, Americans are cursed with repeating history. This should explain why we so-called "senior citizens" sometimes appear so smart. It's not that we are any smarter than anyone else. It is simply that we are able to predict the future by knowing what Americans have, as a lot, not paid heed to in the past. We recognize it -- and call it -- with a great deal of accuracy. It's really quite easy. It just SEEMS like magic.

I have concluded it is going to take another Magna Carta moment pretty much as they experienced in England in 1215 to force, yes, I said FORCE, our government back within the prescribed parameters of the US Constitution. Once they have tasted corrupt power, rogue governments rarely, if ever, voluntarily give that power up. Americans can expect a fight to the bitter end in any contest to reclaim their freedom and liberty from our "progressive overlords."

Frankly, I believe America needs a Great Reformer in the mold of Brother Marin Luther, who (in my opinion) saved the Christian church from the rot at its core, to (metaphorically) nail the constitution to the door of the US Supreme Court, the doors of the US Senate, the House of Representatives, and the front door of the White House.

You may recall that Luther lived his life afterwards under a death threat. But he never recanted. NEVER.

It will take a leader with the character, the strength, the determination, the belief that he is right, and the fearlessness of an archangel, and, most importantly -- a reluctance to place himself above other men, to spearhead a successful movement to reclaim the constitutional rights of Americans.

The freedom movement in America is nearing a critical mass. The government knows it and has been preparing for the coming American apocalypse for some time now. They know it will be a cataclysmic event.

Yet one thing is lacking -- that leader we described above for America's freedom movement. When he appears on the scene -- and he will -- the curtain will go up.  Neither side is assured of victory. We can only pray God that freedom wins out.

A Million Muslim March in Washington on September 11?

Gary Fouse
fousesquawk
http://garyfouse.blogspot.com

The American Muslim Political Action Committee is planning a Million Muslim March on Washington DC on September 11 to demand an end to discrimination against Muslims in America.

Or something like that. here is their announcement:

http://ampacus.webs.com/

"It is time for us as Muslims in America to stop being defensive and start being proactive by using our right to vote and our freedom of assemble and let our voices be heard by our country and the world. Stand with us help us fight the injustices being committed against us."

How dare they?

How dare they use this day in American history to rub our noses in what 19 Muslims did in the name of Islam? Where is any sense of humility? Where is any sense of solidarity with America and the victims of 9-11? Instead they demand the government release the 9-11 Commission Report to the American people??!!

"We are demanding that laws be enacted protecting our 1st amendment . We are asking President Obama to fulfill his promise from his first campaign for Presidency of a transparent government. Lastly we are asking for the release of the 9/11 commission report to the American people."

You mean the one I have sitting on my bookshelf? I guess AMPAC can borrow mine.

And what about their First Amendment rights? Seems to me they have exercised it plenty including mosques preaching hatred toward the West and non-Muslims. People like Abdul Alim Musa, Amir Abdel Malik Ali, Siraj Wahhaj, and Mohammed al Asi have had no problem whatsoever spewing their hatred publicly.

Moreover I seriously doubt there will be anything close to one million Muslims taking part in this outrage. Oh, to be sure, CAIR, ISNA, ICNA, MPAC and MAS types will the there as will the radical imams. Louis Farrakhan will be there, as will probably the new Black Panther Party, Jewish Voice for Peace, Code Pink, the ACLU and all the other radical, America-hating left-wing types that march in sympathy with extremist Islamists.

But they will not get one million ordinary American Muslims to Washington to take part in this travesty. If they do, we have a bigger problem than I ever imagined.

What I propose on September 11 is a million man Coptic Christian march to protest and ask our government to speak out about the plight of their brethren in the Middle East. How about a million-Jew march to protest the anti-Semitism playing out every day in the Middle East and Europe? How about a million Baha'i march to protest the inhuman treatment of Baha'i in Iran? How about a million gay march to speak out about the inhuman treatment of gays in Muslim countries?

Instead this.

Were I an American Muslim, I would think this is a bad idea which can only heighten the feelings of suspicion and distrust toward Muslims.

The Right To Exist!

What Is A Conservative?

By Anonymous

A Conservative is an individual that desire to preserve or maintain his or her set of values. Whether or not being a Conservative is good or bad depends entirely upon which values you are seeking to preserve.

In the 1770's a colonist that supported the oppressive government of King George would have been classified as a Conservative. In the 1860's individuals that opposed the abolition of slavery would have been labeled conservatives.

Before the American War for Independence, it was believed that Kings and Queens ruled by divine right. This principle led to tyranny and human bondage. To accept the status quo would have been the position of a conservative. After the ratification of the Constitution, a new set of principles were established in America and now an individual that embraced the principles outlined in the Declaration of Independence became a conservative. Declaring that one is a conservative without stating the principles that you wish to maintain doesn't tell anyone what you believe.

Those opposed to the principles articulated in our founding documents want to divide and confuse the people in order to control them. We need to stop identifying ourselves with political labels such as liberals and conservatives and start definng who we are by proclaiming the principles in which we believe.

I am not a liberal or a conservative. I am not a republican or a democrat. I don't lean to the right or to the left. I simply believe that we were endowed by our Creator with the right to life, liberty and property. I believe that governments derive their power from the consent of the governed and were created to secure our unalienable rights.

Today we have been taught that to rebel against tyranny and injustice is radical, but in the 1770's it was considered Patriotic. We are no longer taught that morality is doing what is right, and that blind obedience is doing what you are told.

Jewish Music In America

In writing about Jewish music one has to remember that Jews have kept a careful balance between the distinctive national (religious) identity of their music and the secular culture around them.  Yet like every other immigrant group, Jewish music has made a place in American culture and society.

The Jewish experience in America begins before the founding of the United States.  The first recorded Jew in America was Joachim Gans of Bohemia in 1584.  Within a few decades there were a couple of hundred Jews in the American colonies (Mostly in Charleston, South Carolina).  And they brought their music and songs.

Knowing this, many musical influences from Jewish culture are found in American music.  Though not at the founding of the nation.  Jewish music was confined to the synagogue and home.  Non-Jews rarely heard the harmonic melodies that was present in the Early Synagogues such as the Touro Synagogue in Newport, Rhode Island or the Spanish and Portuguese Synagogue in New York City, New York.  The music was mostly religious and centering on the worship of G-d and biblical themes.  Except for the joyous celebrations of weddings, bar mitzvah, etc...  Then the music was for the enjoyment of the whole community outside the walls of the synagogue.

Before the American Civil War (1860-1865) the majority of Jews in the United States were located in the Southern States and were of either British, French or German origin.  After the war, there was a great influx of Jewish immigrants from Eastern Europe.  And with them came Yiddish and Yiddish culture and theater.  The sounds of Klezmer music permeated the streets of Jewish immigrant neighborhoods.

Klezmer Band circa 1900

Klezmer is a Yiddish combination of two Hebrew words Kley Zemer which means musical instruments.  It is a joyous music played at celebrations such as a wedding, bar mitzvah, etc.  The klezmer sound is similar to a big band sound or jazz. It has a Jewish flavor to it which makes it sounds like Eastern European music and Jazz combined.  Originally Klezmer music had no vocalists.  Women were not welcomed in men's bands and men were not welcomed into women's bands.  In Orthodox Judaism there is prohibition for men and women to dance together or for men to listen to a woman singing.  (Wives, mothers and daughters are exempt if this is in a family setting at home.)  Thus the musicians at the time were mostly men.

It wasn't until Jews fully entered the secular world in the late 19th Century that their musical tones were introduced to the secular world.

In the 20th Century Jewish music exploded upon the music world.  The influences of Klezmerhave given the world delightful and memorable melodies.
Yiddish Musical Theater  gave the US and the world American Musical Theater of today on Broadway.  Jewish composers such as Irving Berlin, Leonard Bernstein, Aaron Copland  and many others.

In the world of Jazz, Klezmer melodies and influences were brought by such artists as Benny Goodman and Artie Shaw.  The influences are still being brought by artists Herb Alpert, Stan Getz, and Kenny G.  All Jewish musicians.

Sammy Davis Jr. gave the world a mixture of Jewish and African-American musics.  Rock and Roll would not have been the same without the music of Gene Simmons of the Rock Band KISS.  Another proud Jewish musician.

Today the early heritage of Jewish Music in America is being brought to the attention of the world by Lowell Milken and the Milken Archive.  I have spent hours listening to the archive and the wondrous music that is there.  I suggest that you enjoy those lovely sounds.

O, Republican Party, Why Hast Thou Forsaken Me?

A letter by James M. Sharp

Dear Republican Party,

What has happened to you? My parents – and their parents before them – were Republican. I proudly registered as a Republican in high school upon reaching my eighteenth birthday. I remember vividly the sense of awe that I felt as I cast a ballot for Ronald Reagan in my first presidential election in November of 1980. Those were our glory days and we enjoyed them together. But we knew that, like all good things, they would not last forever. I stuck by you as we all endured the Clinton years. It was not easy, but we survived and lived to see, once again, as Republicans took the reins.

But something happened to you: You changed; you underwent a metamorphosis, so to speak. You became less and less like the hardworking party of previous generations and became more and more like Democrats. You and your complicit Democrat friends in Washington made it easier and easier for the terminally lazy to shift their transmissions into neutral and coast – on the taxpayers’ dime. At the same time, due to the growing number of shiftless individuals mooching off of the system, you make it harder and harder for those of us that get up and go to work every day as we strive to keep a roof over our heads and food on the table – AND support the 40-plus percent of people that, for whatever reason, don’t work. You have, along with the Democrats, made hard work seem passé and boring. With very few exceptions, you have permitted the left and those in the media to vilify conservatives and conservatism.

We have told you repeatedly that we have had enough – enough of the spending, the cronyism, the deceit, the cesspool that Washington DC has become. Yet you allowed George W. Bush to spend like the proverbial drunken sailor. You rammed through a Medicare prescription drug debacle in 2003 that is costing – and will continue to cost – untold billions of dollars. By the time that Barack Obama came to power, we knew that we were in deep trouble. I’ll give you a modicum of credit – none of your Congressional members voted for the Patient Protection & Affordable Care Act. But that alone was not enough to restore our faith in you.

Conservatives spoke loudly and clearly in November of 2010 when we granted you power once again in the House of Representatives. You promised us that you would turn things around. Except for a small number of extremely promising new individuals in the halls of Congress, you have greatly disappointed us.

Many of your members continue to side with the liberals regarding illegal immigration. Exactly WHAT makes you think that opening the flood gates for millions of foreigners who came here AGAINST THE LAW is going to win you massive numbers of minority voters? Are you really that stupid? These people have been conditioned to believe that the Democrat Party is the party of handouts. And it IS. Do you honestly believe that by siding with the Democrats on this issue, these voters are going to, as if by magic, think that the Republican Party is now the party of handouts and vote for YOUR party for the next eighty years? This is not likely to happen.

What IS likely to happen is the following: The mass exodus from the Republican Party is going to continue unabated. Your party (my FORMER party) is going to become a relic. A thing of the past. Something to be seen sitting on a shelf in a curio shop. People of my generation will point out to their grandchildren that what they are looking at is all that remains of a once-great political machine. You have succeeded in reducing it to a mere skeleton – like the carcass of an armadillo lying in the road after the vultures have picked it clean (with much the same odor). The vultures being the aforementioned slackers. The ones that have come to the realization that it is far easier to let working Americans do the heavy lifting while they sit on the sidelines and watch – AND collect a check from the government.

I will close by saying “goodbye”. I have been active with my local Tea Party almost since its inception in late-2009. The individuals in the Tea Party are my friends; they share my values and my love of God and country. I know that, unlike you, I can count on them to stand with me as we try to protect and defend the principles that made this country great. We can – and WILL – protect and defend the Constitution of the United States. Something that you have sworn to do but, at the same time, something at which you have failed miserably.

Hey, Republican Party – It’s been nice knowing you!

The Modern Mein Kampf

The original Mein Kampf was written by Adolf Hitler while he was in prison for treason and sedition.  It is a rambling book that outlines his plans for the take over of the world and blames the Jews for all the evil of the world.

Such ideas should have died in the ruins of Berlin in 1945.  They didn't.  Instead they have been ingrained into the Black American psyche from birth by mothers who blame Jews for the failures they have in life.

One of these pathetic Blacks is a woman named Alice Walker.  A woman who is so beyond reality that she actually believes that the Earth is controlled by "Blue-Eyed" reptilian Space Aliens on the Moon.

But to further her hatred for the Jews she has penned Mein Kampf The Cushion In The Road.
American writer Alice Walker, who has long made clear her antipathy toward the state of Israel, “has taken her extreme and hostile views to a shocking new level” in her latest book of meditations on life and her personal activism, according to a review of the book by the Anti-Defamation League (ADL).

Walker’s “The Cushion in the Road” devotes 80 pages to fervently anti-Jewish ideas, explicit comparisons between Israel and Nazi Germany.

The 12 essays of the section, titled “On Palestine,” which make up a quarter of the book, are rife with comparisons of Israelis to Nazis, denigrations of Judaism and Jews, and statements suggesting that Israel should cease to exist as a Jewish state. Walker’s book also attempts to justify terrorism against Israeli civilians, claiming that the “oppressed” Palestinians should not be blamed for carrying out suicide bombings.

“Alice Walker has sunk to new lows with essays that remove the gloss of her anti-Israel activism to reveal someone who is unabashedly infected with anti-Semitism,” said Abraham H. Foxman, ADL National Director.

“She has taken her extreme and hostile views to a shocking new level, revealing the depth of her hatred of Jews and Israel to a degree that we have not witnessed before. Her descriptions of the conflict are so grossly inaccurate and biased that it seems Walker wants the uninformed reader to come away sharing her hate-filled conclusions that Israel is committing the greatest atrocity in the history of the world.”

Walker, a Pulitzer Prize-winning African-American writer, essayist and poet, has a long history of biased statements against the Jewish state. In June 2012 she refused to allow an Israeli company to publish a Hebrew edition of her classic novel, “The Color Purple,” in protest of what she described as Israel’s “apartheid” policies and “persecution of the Palestinian people.” Most recently, Walker wrote a letter calling on the singer-songwriter Alicia Keys to cancel her upcoming July 4th concert appearance in Tel Aviv in protest of Israel’s policies.

The ADL highlights that in “The Cushion in the Road,” Walker describes Israel’s actions vis-à-vis the Arab population as “genocide,” “ethnic cleansing,” “crimes against humanity,” and “cruelty and diabolical torture”.

Speaking of Black churches whose leaders recount Biblical stories regarding Jewish triumphs, Walker writes, “It amazes me, in these churches, that there is no discussion of the fact that the other behavior we learned about in the Bible stories: the rapes, the murders, the pillaging, the enslavement of the conquered, the confiscation of land, the brutal domination and colonization of all ‘others’ is still front and center in Israel’s behavior today.”

Walker analogizes the Palestinians’ situation with the civil rights era and discrimination against Blacks in the American South. “It is because I recognize the brutality with which my own multibranched ancestors have been treated that I can identify the despicable, lawless, cruel, and sadistic behavior that has characterized Israel’s attempts to erase a people, the Palestinians, from their own land,” she writes.

On several occasions Walker seems to indicate that the purported evils of modern-day Israel are a direct result of Jewish values, alleging that Jews behave the way they do because they believe in their “supremacy.” She suggests that Israeli settlements are motivated by the concept that “possession is nine-tenths of the law,” which she claims is a lesson she “learned from my Jewish lawyer former husband. This belief might even be enshrined in the Torah.”

The ADL notes that when discussing Israel’s alleged “theft” of Arab land, Walker writes, “Can people who hunger so desperately for what other people have ever have enough? One thinks of Hitler, of course, and Napoleon….” She writes of the inclusion of Israeli films in the 2009 Toronto Film Festival that it was comparable to “festivals in the past, festivals leading up to World War II,” which were designed to “make the bully look more respectable.”

I predict that this piece of garbage will soar high on the New York Times Best Seller list and that Moonbats Liberals everywhere will praise her work.  It will be another excuse for the official anti-Semitism that has permeated the US Government and the Democratic Party.

Wednesday's Hero: Spc. Ross McGinnis

Spc. Ross McGinnis

Spc. Ross McGinnis
19 years old from Knox, Pennsylvania
1st Platoon, C Company, 1st Battalion, 26th Infantry Regiment
June 14, 1987 - December 4, 2006

U.S. Army

For conspicuous gallantry and intrepidity at the risk of his life above and beyond the call of duty:

Private First Class Ross A. McGinnis distinguished himself by acts of gallantry and intrepidity above and beyond the call of duty while serving as an M2 .50-caliber Machine Gunner, 1st Platoon, C Company, 1st Battalion, 26th Infantry Regiment, in connection with combat operations against an armed enemy in Adhamiyah, Northeast Baghdad, Iraq, on 4 December 2006.

That afternoon his platoon was conducting combat control operations in an effort to reduce and control sectarian violence in the area. While Private McGinnis was manning the M2 .50-caliber Machine Gun, a fragmentation grenade thrown by an insurgent fell through the gunner's hatch into the vehicle. Reacting quickly, he yelled "grenade," allowing all four members of his crew to prepare for the grenade's blast. Then, rather than leaping from the gunner's hatch to safety, Private McGinnis made the courageous decision to protect his crew. In a selfless act of bravery, in which he was mortally wounded, Private McGinnis covered the live grenade, pinning it between his body and the vehicle and absorbing most of the explosion.

Private McGinnis' gallant action directly saved four men from certain serious injury or death. Private First Class McGinnis' extraordinary heroism and selflessness at the cost of his own life, above and beyond the call of duty, are in keeping with the highest traditions of the military service and reflect great credit upon himself, his unit, and the United States Army.

You can read more about Spc. McGinnis here

These brave men and women sacrifice so much in their lives just so others may get to enjoy freedom. For that I am proud to call them Hero.

http://garyfouse.blogspot.com

Recently, I posted news about the nomination of Sadia Saifuddin of UC Berkeley to serve as student regent on the University of California Regents-a questionable choice given her campus activism with the Muslim Student Association and Students for Justice in Palestine. Today, David Horowitz and Jeff Wiener of the David Horowitz Freedom Center are posting an open letter to the Regents to reconsider this nomination. You can add your name to the letter below. I have and I hope you will as well.

Sexual Grooming in Scotland

Gary Fouse
fousesquawk
http://garyfouse.blogspot.com

Hat tip Vlad Tepes and The Express

If you are not familiar with the term, "sexual grooming", ask anyone from the UK. It involves adult men befriending young British girls, often runaways, getting them hooked on drugs, and using them for sex within their own circle of friends and prostitution. It is an epidemic in the UK as previously reported here.

Now we have a report from Scotland on this problem. Two new cases have been broken.

http://www.express.co.uk/news/uk/407931/Scots-police-smash-two-large-paedophile-rings

"There are groups of foreign nationals involved in this and maybe respect for women isn’t seen as being a high priority in their country of origin."
-A police source
No sh**, Sherlock.
"Mr Graham said: “In two large scale CSE investigations in Scotland a significant proportion of the identified perpetrators were from ethnic minority communities. It is not possible to draw conclusions from this relatively small dataset and more accurate data and wider research is required."
Wow. Maybe they should combine the Scottish data with that of England and the rest of the UK. Maybe then, they can put two andf two together and come up with four.
Not mentioned, for obvious reasons, is the national origin of the perps. That would leave the uninformed reader to wonder if they are Canadians, Americans, Danes, Aussies, Bolivians, Koreans or who knows who.
To be sure, there is more than one national origin involved. How about Indian, Pakistani, Bangladeshi, Arab, or African? Naturally, there are plenty of civilized people from those countries and regions who don't engage in child sexual exploitation. That includes Muslims.
But let me state what Mr Graham would not or could not state because I am here in America and don't have to worry about being prosecuted for "inciting hate" against some particular group (at least not yet). The epidemic in Great Britain involves Muslim men who are so radical and hateful in their beliefs, that they think it is their right to use non-Muslim girls as they please. After all, non-Muslim women are nothing but whores to begin with in their way of thinking.
I am not suggesting that all Muslims in the UK are involved and hasten to add that this problem does not exist here in the US. But why is it hateful to speak out against a group-or sub group- if you will, that is engaged in such awful practice-due to their own hate toward the country, the culture, and the people where they have chosen to settle?
If the situation were reversed and native white British men were doing this to young Muslim girls, there would be an outcry across the world and names would be named. I would be right out front with it as well. Why is it that Europeans and politically-correct North Americans as well cannot name the names and specify the problem that our own citizens are facing?
Well, we all know the answer to that, don't we? More riots and acts of terror directed at us, right? But, if a threat exists, our leaders have a duty to inform the public. In that, they are failing.
So our media, police and political leaders keep us in the dark, whether it be child sexual grooming in the UK, riots in other European streets by "young people", attacks against European Jews, or murderous attacks in Southern California by men with Middle Eastern names, where no motive can be given (just this year in Orange County, Santa Monica, and Los Angeles). And you wonder why the blogosphere is supplanting our media?
That's my two cents worth. Of course, I fully expect this posting to wind up in the files of Professor Hatem Bazian's Islamophobia Research and Documentation Project up there at UC Berkeley.
Make sure you spell my name right, Hatem.

For All Dads!

I lost my father many decades ago and the loss of his wisdom and love in my life has been a gaping hole.  To this day I miss him and wonder how he would have taken being a Grandfather to my children.  A question I never will be able to answer.

To all of my readers who are Fathers, Grandfathers, Step-Fathers, etc...  This is for you.

Thanks for changing dirty diapers.
Thanks for walking the floors with a screaming child at 2 AM.
Thanks for being patient with a crying child.

The US Military Finally Destroyed

Stolen From Faultline USA

A Commentary by J. D. Longstreet
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
It would almost be funny if it were not so serious -- the reports of sexual assaults coming out of the various divisions of the US military today.
I have to ask: What the heck did they expect??? I mean, of course, the so-called experts who insisted that adding women to combat units within the military and then -- to really set the entire experiment up for failure -- adding homosexuals openly serving in the military to the mix.
A complete blithering, slobbering, idiot could see this coming from a league away. (OK -- a league is THREE miles -- 15,840 feet)
Look. I'm a veteran. But today, I am embarrassed to have the Army stickers on my truck! They'll soon come off. I cannot support the organization masquerading today as the US Army.
Since its founding America has taken great pride in it's military. But no longer. The pride is lessening as each day passes and Americans become more aware of what has happened to our military, to our soldiers, to our boys.
Consider this from the Daily Beast: " ... male-on-male sexual assault. In the staunchly traditional military culture, it’s an ugly secret, kept hidden by layers of personal shame and official denial. Last year nearly 50,000 male veterans screened positive for “military sexual trauma” at the Department of Veterans Affairs, up from just over 30,000 in 2003. For the victims, the experience is a special kind of hell—a soldier can’t just quit his job to get away from his abusers. But now, as the Pentagon has begun to acknowledge the rampant problem of sexual violence for both genders, men are coming forward in unprecedented numbers, telling their stories and hoping that speaking up will help them, and others, put their lives back together. “We don’t like to think that our men can be victims,” says Kathleen Chard, chief of the post traumatic-stress unit at the Cincinnati VA. “We don’t want to think that it could happen to us. If a man standing in front of me who is my size, my skill level, who has been raped—what does that mean about me? I can be raped, too.” SOURCE
The article in the Daily Beast goes on: "In fact, it is the high victimization rate of female soldiers—women in the armed forces are now more likely to be assaulted by a fellow soldier than killed in combat—that has helped cast light on men assaulting other men. For most of military history, there was neither a system nor language in place to deal with incidents of soldier-on-soldier sexual assault. It wasn’t until 1992 that the Defense Department even acknowledged such incidents as an offense, and initially only female victims were recognized. But last year more than 110 men made confidential reports of sexual assault by other men, nearly three times as many as in 2007." SOURCE
My friend, Alan Caruba, said in an article published in January of this year: "In recent times, two Presidents, Clinton—a draft dodger—and Obama have had no military experience to draw upon. Over the objections of their generals, both introduced policies to include and protect homosexuals in the U.S. military services. Now the doors have been opened to permit women to fight beside men. The military is not a place where one conducts social experiments. It’s a place where men go in harm’s way to protect the nation." SOURCE
In an article entitled: "Destroying The U.S. Military From Within," at cnsnews.com, Frank J. Gaffney, Jr. writes: "The Obama administration's announcement that it is going to put women in front-line ground combat positions is but the latest example of a deliberate and systematic wrecking operation it has conducted against the armed forces since 2009." SOURCE
Gaffney goes on: "It is impossible as a practical matter to provide for separation of the sexes in frontline positions. That guarantees a loss of privacy and greatly increases the chances of pregnancies and harassment that: profoundly affects the personnel immediately involved; causes degrading of their units' warfighting capabilities; and traumatizes their families or, at a minimum, erodes the essential support for uniformed service that those loved ones provide." SOURCE
Gaffney continues: "The disastrous effect on the U.S. military of such wholly avoidable wounds is compounded by such other Obama administration-directed measures as: The imposition of the radical homosexual agenda on an institution that has, until 2010, by culture as well as by law, prohibited openly gay individuals from serving in its ranks." SOURCE
Now take all this and add to it the loss of two wars (The War in Iraq and soon the war in Afghanistan) and there can be no question that the American military is coming undone -- is coming apart.
The loss of moral support by the civilian public at home, alone, will gut the US military of, perhaps, it's greatest source of strength.
Heretofore, young men were encouraged to join the US Military. It was famously said: "It will make a man of you!" That can no longer be said, except in jest. I suspect that "... looking for a few good men." will be dropped as well.
As the deterioration of the US military continues, I believe the US will, in years to come, be better served by an army of mercenaries than by our regular forces.
It will take a while, but eventually the ranks will be purged of moral, God-fearing troops from the officer corp down through the lowliest Private. Already, they are being told they are not welcome into today's military.
Consider this: On September 16, 2010, Lt. Gen. Thomas P. Bostick, Deputy Chief of Staff in charge of personnel matters made a speech regarding the pending repeal of "Don't Ask Don't Tell". He was reported as saying, "Those serving who oppose the lesbian, gay, bisexual and transgender (LGBT) agenda are no longer welcome." SOURCE
It is not much of a stretch to believe that as God-fearing troops are driven from the military, America will eventually have a military made up of godless, mind-numbed robots of the political left who will, without thinking, carry out the orders given them -- including orders to act against the American civilian population. America will be left with a military that will have no qualms about acting against the American people.
It should be clear now why our Founding Fathers did not support a standing army for this new country. Nearly two and a half centuries ago they could see the danger we are about to face with our modern standing army.
I have heard the protestation that the US doesn't need as strong an army as we have had in the past. We have all the new electronic gadgets, drones, missiles, satellite guided weapons, even computerized artillery to fight our wars. They go on to say that even the weakest of women can push a button taking out hundreds of the enemy's soldiers at one shot.
That is true, as far as it goes. But aren't we forgetting that a single EMP (Electromagnetic Pulse) artillery shell, or missile, or bomb will instantly throw us back to the time of the American Civil War and have our troops struggling on the battle field, man to man, hand to hand, with nothing but small arms and bayonets, or as sometimes happened during the Civil War, with bare fists, sticks, and clubs.
The danger has always been with the new advanced weapons of war that we would become far too reliant upon them.
I could go on and on with scenario after scenario but the simple truth is this: We have compromised our military and, by extension, the defense of the country. And there is no acceptable excuse for it.
We have already begun to pay the price in lost souls, lost lives, lost wars, lost treasure, lost pride, and --- if we aren't very careful -- a lost country.
National Flag Day
The Fourth of July was traditionally celebrated as America's birthday, but the idea of an annual day specifically celebrating the Flag is believed to have first originated in 1885. BJ Cigrand, a schoolteacher, arranged for the pupils in the Fredonia, Wisconsin Public School, District 6, to observe June 14 (the 108th anniversary of the official adoption of The Stars and Stripes) as 'Flag Birthday'. In numerous magazines and newspaper articles and public addresses over the following years, Cigrand continued to enthusiastically advocate the observance of June 14 as 'Flag Birthday', or 'Flag Day'.
On June 14, 1889, George Balch, a kindergarten teacher in New York City, planned appropriate ceremonies for the children of his school, and his idea of observing Flag Day was later adopted by the State Board of Education of New York. On June 14, 1891, the Betsy Ross House in Philadelphia held a Flag Day celebration, and on June 14 of the following year, the New York Society of the Sons of the Revolution, celebrated Flag Day.
Following the suggestion of Colonel J Granville Leach (at the time historian of the Pennsylvania Society of the Sons of the Revolution), the Pennsylvania Society of Colonial Dames of America on April 25, 1893 adopted a resolution requesting the mayor of Philadelphia and all others in authority and all private citizens to display the Flag on June 14th. Leach went on to recommend that thereafter the day be known as 'Flag Day', and on that day, school children be assembled for appropriate exercises, with each child being given a small Flag.
Two weeks later on May 8th, the Board of Managers of the Pennsylvania Society of Sons of the Revolution unanimously endorsed the action of the Pennsylvania Society of Colonial Dames. As a result of the resolution, Dr. Edward Brooks, then Superintendent of Public Schools of Philadelphia, directed that Flag Day exercises be held on June 14, 1893 in Independence Square. School children were assembled, each carrying a small Flag, and patriotic songs were sung and addresses delivered.
In 1894, the governor of New York directed that on June 14 the Flag be displayed on all public buildings. With BJ Cigrand and Leroy Van Horn as the moving spirits, the Illinois organization, known as the American Flag Day Association, was organized for the purpose of promoting the holding of Flag Day exercises. On June 14th, 1894, under the auspices of this association, the first general public school children's celebration of Flag Day in Chicago was held in Douglas, Garfield, Humboldt, Lincoln, and Washington Parks, with more than 300,000 children participating.
Adults, too, participated in patriotic programs. Franklin K. Lane, Secretary of the Interior, delivered a 1914 Flag Day address in which he repeated words he said the flag had spoken to him that morning: "I am what you make me; nothing more. I swing before your eyes as a bright gleam of color, a symbol of yourself."
Inspired by these three decades of state and local celebrations, Flag Day - the anniversary of the Flag Resolution of 1777 - was officially established by the Proclamation of President Woodrow Wilson on May 30th, 1916. While Flag Day was celebrated in various communities for years after Wilson's proclamation, it was not until August 3rd, 1949, that President Truman signed an Act of Congress designating June 14th of each year as National Flag Day.
Another Embarrassment for Uuniversity of California
Gary Fouse
fousesquawk
"One person's hate speech is another person's education"
The University of California took another step in the wrong direction when they nominated the below-linked individual to serve as student regent. Robert Spencer has the below op-ed in Frontpage Magazine.
http://frontpagemag.com/2013/robert-spencer/islamic-supremacist-nominated-as-uc-student-regent/
As a part-time teacher at UC Irvine for the past 15 years, my take is that Muslim students are not the targets of anything on campus. The MSU at UCI as well as the various MSAs and their allies, Students for Justice in Palestine, have created all the tension that exists at various times on UC campuses with their anti-Israel weeks of events that feature radical speakers and attempts to prevent videotaping by others, as well as documented acts of physical and verbal intimidation of Jewish students. For years, the UC system has shoved this under the rug and refused to deal with it. The biggest problem of hate on our campuses is anti-Semitism pure and simple. The attack on Tammi Rossman- Benjamin at UC Santa Cruz (America's Wackiest Universoity) is just the latest symptom.
One of the reasons that so many UC campuses are passing Boycott, Divest and Sanction resolutions against companies that do business with Israel and resolutions condemning Rossman-Benjamin is that MSA/SJP members are becoming prevalent in the various student governments; thus, the student governments' time and energy is consumed with these anti-Israel issues. Don't they have better issues to worry about?
Now comes this nomination. What kind of message does that send to the Jewish students in the University of California? It is not that the young lady is a Muslim. It is because she is such an activist in the above issues and her involvement in these controversies that is cause for concern.
1930's Redux?
Stolen from Faultline USA
A Commentary by J. D. Longstreet
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~

Over the past few weeks I have been wondering why none of what's happening today in America seems new, or even surprising. A short time ago it became clear. We've experienced it before. We've seen this movie before. It's pre-1945 Germany -- all over again.

"The U.S. had been moving toward a total police state since about 1913; but in 2012 the final nail in the coffin of democracy and justice was hammered into place with the passage of the National Defense Authorization Act. NDAA allows for the U.S. military to arrest, imprison, and torture American citizen without due process of any kind!

Contemporary America has adopted the identical police state, economic-military imperialist policies and operations that Nazi Germany did--though the enactment of those policies differs to some degree. The sound of Gestapo jackboots is now heard in the land of Jefferson, Lincoln, and Franklin Roosevelt."  SOURCE

Oh, yes. I expect to get hammered for even broaching this subject. Any time a conservative points out the obvious -- especially when it has to do with Hitlerian Germany -- we are hammered by the political left.

Problem is -- there are still a few of us around who remember those days, and the war, and the years after the war when so much more was uncovered about the leftist movement in Germany that produced Nazism and nearly destroyed the world.

In his book: "Liberal Fascism: The Secret History of the American Left, From Mussolini to the Politics of Change," Jonah Goldberg reminds us that the original fascists were really on the left, and that liberals from Woodrow Wilson to FDR to Hillary Clinton have advocated policies and principles remarkably similar to those of Hitler's National Socialism and Mussolini's Fascism.

The sad truth is -- they are doing it again. This time America is their target and, unfortunately the average American citizen is so ignorant of politics, so ignorant of their own country's history and its founding documents they are allowing a leftist dictatorship to roll-up America as they stand idly by fiddling with their latest electronic gadget totally oblivious to their loss of freedom.

So why speak up now and risk bringing an excrement shower down on our heads? Because we have a duty to our fellow man to issue a warning.

Those of my generation remember these few words well. They are burned into our psyche:
"In Germany, the Nazis first came for the communists, and I didn't speak up because I wasn't communist.
They they came for the Jews, and I didn't speak up because I wasn't a Jew.
Then they came for the trade unionists, and I didn't speak up because I wasn't a trade unionists.
Then they came for the Catholics, and I didn't speak up because I was a Protestant.
Finally, they came for me, but there was no one left to speak up."
Those words were penned by Martin Niemoeller, a Lutheran Pastor who was sent to the Dachau Concentration Camp in 1938. He paid the price.

We could easily insert the words "Tea Party", "The Press," "Christians," "Conservatives" into the Rev Niemoeller's words above and they would fit, exactly, where we are today in modern America.

In an oped piece for the Washington Times back in 2009, Walter Williams, a professor of economics at George Mason University, said this: "The path we're embarked upon, in the name of good, is a familiar one. The unspeakable horrors of Nazism, Stalinism and Maoism did not begin in the '30s and '40s with the men usually associated with those names. Those horrors were simply the end result of a long evolution of ideas leading to consolidation of power in central government in the name of social justice." In Germany, it led to the Enabling Act of 1933: Law to Remedy the Distress of the People and the Nation. After all, who could be against a remedy to relieve distress? Decent but misguided Germans, who would have cringed at the thought of what Nazi Germany would become, succumbed to Hitler's charisma.

Today's Americans, enticed, perhaps enchanted, by charismatic speeches, are ceding so much power to Washington, and like yesteryear's Germans, are building the Trojan horse for a future tyrant." SOURCE I came across an article entitled: "26 Similarities Between America and Nazi Germany -- Three Forces Destroying the America We Know" By Brannon Howse recently. I'd like you to consider a few of those similarities Mr. Howse points out:

In 1935, under Hitler's rule, prayers ceased to be obligatory in schools. In 1962, The U.S. Supreme Court outlawed school prayer.

Hitler eliminated Christian holidays in the schools first by calling Christmas "Yuletide." Most American public schools now call Christmas vacation a "winter break."

Hitler took Easter out of schools and instead honored that time of year as the beginning of spring. It has likewise become common for schools in America to refer to time off at Easter as "spring break."

Hitler controlled the church using intimidation and threats. A half-century ago, U.S. Senator and Senate Majority Leader Lyndon Baines Johnson, promoted a bill that included an amendment to use the Internal Revenue Service to remove the non-profit status of a church that speaks against the election of any specific political candidate. (We all KNOW what the IRS has recently publicly admitted to doing.)

Hitler enticed thousands of pastors to promote paganism in their congregations. Neo-paganism is one of the fastest growing religions in America, doubling every 18 months according to a June 2008 article in The Denver Post.

Hitler was an environmentalist and vegetarian. Marriages performed by the Nazi state frequently included blessings of "Mother Earth" and "Father Sky." Today Americans increasingly accept radical environmentalism, pantheism, and the celebration of Earth Day.

Hitler was fascinated by eastern mysticism. Today an increasing number of American pastors encourage their followers to become "mystic warriors".

Hitler's holocaust killed between 8 and 11 million Jews and non-Jews. Americans have killed an estimated 50 million babies since abortion was legalized through the U.S. Supreme Court in 1973.

By 1938, all private schools were abolished by Hitler and all education placed under Nazi control. There is constant pressure from federal and many state education authorities to require that Christian schools use state-mandated, humanistic textbooks.

Hitler prevented dissenters from using radio to challenge his worldview. Many powerful liberals in America have made clear their intent to reintroduce the "Fairness Doctrine" that would require conservative and religious radio stations to offer equal time to anti-Christian, anti-conservative worldviews.

Pastors who spoke against Hitler's worldview and his murderous regime found themselves on trial and frequently imprisoned for "Abuse of Pulpit." In America, hate-crime legislation has the potential to criminalize Christians and pastors who speak out against the homosexual agenda.

Hitler outlawed the cross and replaced it with the swastika. Today many churches, Christian colleges, and universities have willingly removed the cross from their buildings. Numerous court cases sponsored by the ACLU have required the removal of the cross from public grounds. The U.S. Supreme Court ruled in 2005 that the Ten Commandments cannot be posted on public grounds for religious purposes.

Hitler exploited the economic collapse of Germany to take over as dictator and usher in his brand of socialism. America's financial crisis has given liberals in both political parties the opportunity to grow the size of government and implement freedom-robbing socialism at lightning speed.

Hitler was obsessed with globalism, and many of America's most powerful political leaders are willing to subjugate American sovereignty to contemporary globalism.

Many Germans responded to Hitler by retreating into neutrality. Today most Americans prefer to remain neutral on moral issues that they think don't affect them personally.

On trial after World War II, Hitler's henchmen used the defense that they had not broken any laws. True, they had not defied the laws of Germany since those had been re-written to fit the goals and objectives of Hitler. The Nazi leaders were nevertheless found guilty because the courts at the time recognized a "law above the law." Yet now the U.S. Supreme Court has rejected the law of nature and nature's God by claiming that as society evolves, morals evolve, and so the law, too, must evolve.

Calling upon Darwinian evolution, Hitler convinced the German people that purging millions of people was acceptable because of the need to create a pure race; also referred to as eugenics. American students across the board have been educated in Darwinian evolution because the Supreme Court has ruled that creation cannot be taught in our schools-even if both creation and evolution are taught side by side.

Germans accepted socialism to avoid pain. Today's Americans are rejecting capitalism in exchange for government-sponsored "free" healthcare, education, and countless other government handouts.

America is rushing toward government-sponsored, national healthcare. (Obamacare is already the law of the land in America.) We already have a form of this in Medicare and Medicaid. Hitler, too, expanded and centralized Germany's healthcare system. As Melchior Palyi explained, "The ill-famed Dr. Ley, boss of the Nazi labor front, did not fail to see that the social insurance system could be used for Nazi politics as a means of popular demagoguery, as a bastion of bureaucratic power, [and] as an instrument of regimentation."

There is much more in this article and we recommend you read it -- whether you agree with it or not. You will find it here: SOURCE

I don't know about you, but I experienced an involuntary shudder as I read the similarities above. It's akin to reliving a terrifying nightmare.

What's even more distressing is watching my fellow Americans happily and energetically promoting and then voluntarily lining up for the FREE hot government showers.

It has been said that the only foes that threaten America are the enemies at home, and these are ignorance, superstition, and incompetence. I would add one more -- apathy.

Many conservatives are losing hope today that America can survive. Unless there is an act of God, I feel certain America will install another president in the mold of the current occupant of the Oval Office in 2016. I believe that will truly mark the end of days for America.

America rode to the rescue of the world in the 1940's. But there is no one, no country, remotely interested in riding to America's rescue today. So, if America is to be rescued, she must rescue herself.

And therein lies the deepest hurt of all.

There is virtually no homogeneity in America these days. There is precious little similarity, or comparability in kind or nature amongst Americans anymore. Diversity and multiculturalism took care of that. We have so little in common with our neighbors and fellow countrymen that we really could not care less what happens to them and -- by extension -- to our country. Thus our vulnerability.

It is not enough to ask as the ancient Psalmist did: "If the foundations are being destroyed, what can the righteous do?" -- Psalm 11:3. It seems so inadequate to answer by sounding ONLY the alarm.

But America is not alarmed -- not yet! Until she is -- and until she is ready to pay the fiddler, her race to self immolation will continue.

The next time one of your friends advocates sending arms to those Syrian rebels, you might want to show them this article from Atlas Shrugs. You might be contributing to scenes like this, in which a 15-year-old boy was publicly executed by rebels  in front of a large crowd that included his parents:

There are so many more-not to mention the atrocities carried out by Assad's government troops.

This is Syria. You want to send ammo and arms to these guys so they can carry out more of these acts? Or perhaps send in the Marines to "stabilize" the region? The prisoners you see above could be our sons and daughters in uniform.

And Obama also wants to bring these people to the US-should they fail to overthrow Assad. Do you really want to see these guys running around the US-many of whom are al Qaeda types?

No thanks. We learned our lesson in Libya.

Didn't we?

Muslim Persecution of Christians: March, 2013

U.S. Defends "Human Rights" of Persecutors of Christians

Sweden to send Iranian Christian asylum seekers back to Iran to be tortured and possibly executed for the crime of leaving Islam. Also, the Nigerian government recently did go on the offensive to try to contain the jihadis [of Boko Haram], only to be chastised by U.S. Secretary of State John Kerry, saying he was "concerned by credible allegations that the Nigerian security forces are committing gross human rights violations" against the jihadi mass murderers.
The Islamic jihad against Christians in Nigeria is proving to be the most barbaric. A new report states that 70% of Christians killed around the world in 2012 were killed in that African nation. Among some of the atrocities committed in March alone, at least 41 people were killed in a suicide bomb attack at a bus station in a predominantly Christian neighborhood. According to the Christian Association of Nigeria, these attacks "were a signpost of the intended extermination of Christians and Christianity from northern Nigeria."

According to the Rev. Jerome Ituah, "Out of the 52 Catholic churches in Maiduguri diocese, 50 of them have been destroyed by [terrorist group] Boko Haram. When two Christian brothers were returning home after Sunday church service, jihadis opened fire on them with machine guns, killing the brothers, as well as three others, and injuring several more Christians."

Another 13 Christian factory workers in Kano were "gruesomely" slain. According to the local bishop, "Reports of the attack reaching us disclosed that on that fateful Saturday at about 7 p.m, Muslim faithful were conducting their prayer close to the affected compound occupied by Christian families, when two taxi cabs stopped in front of the compound and the occupants, who all concealed their arms, dashed into the complex and demanded to know why the residents were not part of the 7 p.m. Muslim prayer. They responded by telling the visitors they were Christians and so could not be part of the Muslim gathering. At that point, they separated the men from their wives and children and shot them dead on the spot after ordering the women and children into their homes" to be enslaved.

The bishop added that, "government should show more concern, like it has always done when Muslims are affected; I have not seen that in the case of Christians—that 13 Christians were killed in one straight attack and nothing is heard from the government reflects selective justice because we are aware of compensation paid to Muslim families in situations of this nature."

However, the Nigerian government recently did go on the offensive to try to contain the jihadis in northern Nigeria—only to be chastised, according to Reuters, by the Obama administration, in the person of U.S. Secretary of State John Kerry, "in a strongly worded statement, saying: "We are… deeply concerned by credible allegations that the Nigerian security forces are committing gross human rights violations….." against the jihadi mass murderers.

Categorized by theme, the rest of March's Muslim persecution of Christians around the world includes (but is not limited to) the following accounts, listed by theme and in country alphabetical order, not necessarily according to severity:

Church Attacks

Egypt: According to El Watan News, three Christian brothers were shot dead at their home by automatic weapons a few weeks before two of them were set to have their weddings. The victims' family was earlier accused of trying to build a church on land they owned after purchasing building material to build a house on that land. The rumors about the building of a church spread during the Friday sermon at the mosque, following which, 2,000 Muslims stormed the land and tried to destroy the house, a car and a tractor, resulting in the murder of the three Christian brothers.

Indonesia: Authorities demolished a church building with a bulldozer in West Java, even as Muslim bystanders cheered and denounced Christians as "infidels." According to Pastor Leonard Nababan, the government is "criminalising our religion." The congregation had gathered around the church in an effort to save it; so did Muslims, shouting, "They're infidels and they've built their church without permission;" "Knock the church down now," and "Allahu Akbar"["Allah is Greater"].

Iraq: According to Fox News, before the U.S. invasion of Iraq, there were more than 300 Christian churches. Today, a decade after a jihad was unleashed on Christians and their churches, only 57 Christian churches remain in the nation. And "The churches that remain are frequent targets of Islamic extremists, who have driven nearly a million Christians out of the land..." An Iraqi-based human rights organization said that, "The last 10 years have been the worst for Iraqi Christians because they bore witness to the biggest exodus and migration in the history of Iraq…. More than two-thirds [of Christians] have emigrated." One of the most dramatic cases of Christian persecution came in late October of 2010, when Al Qaeda members laid siege to Our Lady of Deliverance Church in Baghdad, killing 58 and wounding 78. According to an AP report , "Iraq's Catholic Christians flocked to churches to celebrate Easter Sunday [in March], praying, singing and rejoicing in the resurrection of Christ behind high blast walls and tight security cordons… [emphasis added]."

Libya: A Coptic Christian church in Benghazi was attacked by armed Muslims. The jihadis severely beat and shaved the beard and mustache of Father Paul, the priest of the church, as a sign of humiliation. They also beat the deacon and nine attendees. Meanwhile, because Egypt's Muslim Brotherhood-led government had done little to restrain the systematic abuse of Egyptian citizens in Libya, including the murder of one under torture, Copts demonstrated in front of the Libyan embassy in Cairo—prompting yet another attack on the Benghazi church, which was set on fire.

Pakistan: In response to one Christian man accused of blaspheming Islam's prophet, thousands of Muslims attacked the Christian Joseph Colony of Lahore. They burned two churches, one Catholic, the other Seventh Day Adventist, as often happens in Pakistan, in the context of collectively punishing Christians.

Sudan: According to Morning Star News, Khartoum's jihad continues to "rid the area of non-Arabs and Christianity": the Evangelical Church in the Nuba was "reduced … to ashes" after an aerial bombardment. Days later, another bombing campaign in the Christian-majority region left two dead and twelve injured. "These bombardments," said a church leader, "are major sources of fear among the people in South Kordofan."

Turkey: The 5th century Studios Monastery, dedicated to St. John the Baptist, is set to go from being a branch of the Hagia Sophia -- Christianity's grandest cathedral, which was transformed into a mosque after the Islamic conquest, and is currently a museum -- to being an active mosque. Many Turkish Muslims continue calling for the return of the Hagia Sophia itself to a mosque.

Apostasy, Blasphemy, Proselytism

Holland: A 43-year-old Iranian Muslim convert to Christianity was found murdered. According to the Farsi Christian News Network, the victim went to church the afternoon he was killed: "The shocking news of this senseless murder has brought grief and sorrow to the local Christians, Iranian-Christian community, and asylum seekers across the country." Christians constitute a large percentage of the Iranians seeking asylum in the Netherlands. (Islamic Sharia law calls for the killing of apostates; in the Islamic world, converts to Christianity are regularly targeted.)

Iran: During a major conference, a Shi'ite leader claimed that Islam was under attack by Christianity in Iran: "Christian booklets and brochures are being sent to people's doors for free in many areas…. Christianity is being preached in many shops in the Islamic city of Mashhad. Also Christian booklets are sent to people's addresses without restrictions." But a Mohabat News spokesperson said, "Of course, the Islamic cleric did not provide any supporting evidence for his claim. However, it seems their sole purpose in bringing up and repeating these claims is to provoke security authorities against, and provide the means for increased pressure on Iranian Christians converts."[sic]

Kazakhstan: Vyacheslav Cherkasov , a Christian street evangelist, was detained for offering Christian literature to passersby and fined the equivalent of one month's wages on charges of "violating the rules" regarding "importing, publishing and distribution of religious literature," which came into force in 2011. The court ordered the destruction of his 121 pieces of Christian literature, including Bibles and children's Bibles, in the first such ruling since the nation gained independence from the Soviet Union in 1991. Local Council of Churches Baptists said in published remarks, "We were shocked—this is sacrilege and illegality."

Pakistan: The blasphemy case against Rimsha Masih, the 14-year-old Christian girl, who was earlier arrested for "blasphemy" when a Muslim cleric falsely claimed that she burned a Koran, has been reopened. According to a BosNewsLife report, "A police investigator asked the Supreme Court in Islamabad to reopen the case" against the Christian girl, "saying he was pressured by the government to drop charges against her after an international outcry." Her family and she are currently in hiding. A court is also considering a death sentence against 47-year-old Martha Bibi, a Christian and mother, due to alleged "derogatory remarks" about Muslim prophet Muhammad. Another Christian man was arrested after a Muslim accused him of blasphemy. But his arrest was not enough to appease the 3,000-strong mob that went on to punish collectively the nation's Christians -- burning two churches and some 200 Christian homes, and stealing the Christians' property.

Somalia: Muslim militants murdered another Christian, Ahmed Ali Jimale, 42, who was killed by two men as he stood outside his house, near a police station. Among other charges, the man was accused of apostasy—on the widespread assumption that all Somalis are born Muslims—and, because he worked as a teacher, of "introducing the children to foreign Christian religion." Muslim militants had warned him that, "We shall come for your head." A friend of the slain said, "Jimale was a good man who helped our community. His widow is very scared and afraid, not knowing what will happen." He also leaves behind four children, ages 10, 8, 6, and 4.

Dhimmitude
[General Abuse and Suppression of Non-Muslims as "Tolerated" Citizens]

Egypt: Muslim rioters in the town of Kom Ombo threw firebombs and rocks at police after Friday mosque prayers in an effort to storm a church in which they claimed a Muslim woman who converted to Christianity was hiding. Violence began when a 36 year-old Muslim woman, who had been missing for five days, was allegedly seen outside the church with a female Christian friend. Days later, hundreds of Muslims marched in the town of al-Wasta, to protest the disappearance of another young Muslim girl and accuse the priest of St. George's Church of using "black magic" to lure her to Christianity. They hurled stones at the church; Coptic shops were forced to close down; Salfis threatened to kidnap a Christian girl if their Muslim girl did not return. However, Watani newspaper had already reported that the Muslim girl sent her family an open letter, posted on the Internet, saying that she ran away because she was sexually abused by her uncles, as well as forced to marry a man she did not want, and that she had left Egypt and was married to a Muslim man. Unrelatedly, a Fox News report states that "Islamic hard-liners stormed a mosque in suburban Cairo, turning it into torture chamber for Christians who had been demonstrating against the ruling Muslim Brotherhood in the latest case of violent persecution that experts fear will only get worse." According to a Voice of Russia report, "Up to 100,000 Christians have left Egypt since the Muslim Brotherhood came to power. Some of those have arrived in Moscow."

Iran: Also according to Fox News, a United Nations report states that "Iran's hard-line regime has intensified its violent crackdown on Christians and other religious minorities, even imprisoning nursing mothers for practicing their faith…" The March report provides a "rare, detailed view into the shocking treatment of Christians in Iran, where American Pastor Saeed Abedini is serving an eight-year sentence for his alleged work with Christians." According to a UN expert on human rights in Iran, "The persecution of Christians has increased. It seems to target new converts and those who run house churches…. more than 300 Christians have been arrested since June 2010, according to the report." Most recently, Five members of the Church of Iran denomination, "charged with disturbing public order, evangelizing, action against national security and an internet activity against the system," appeared before a judge.

Pakistan: After 3,000 Muslims attacked a Christian village—burning two churches and some 200 homes—the government punished Christians for protesting. According to the Daily Times, "Christians around the country are incensed by the recurring theme of blasphemy allegation followed by attacks and burning down of their vulnerable communities. They have held protests across the country in a concerted effort to vent their disgust at the recent incident and to show solidarity with the victims… Lahore police used the opportunity to beat the innocent Christian protesters. They shot tear gas shells at them and beat them with sticks. Yet when the Muslim attack took place they stood back and watched till the town had been razed to the ground…Muslims of Jhelum city have threatened to burn Christians home in response to the protests. Now the community is living in fear of reprisals for their simple act of condemning violence and the blasphemy laws of Pakistan."

Sweden: According to Charisma News, "Christians in Iran face arrest, torture, even death. But that doesn't seem to matter to Swedish immigration officials. Sweden wants to send Iranian Christian asylum seekers, who left Islam, back to Iran where they could be killed. Iran is one of the most dangerous places in the world for Christians. As apostates from Islam, they face grave danger in this country. But their requests for asylum status that could save their lives have been denied."

Syria: According to a Catholic leader, up to 30,000 Christians have fled the city of Aleppo, and two priests were abducted and held for a ransom of 15 million Syrian pounds each. Christians are regularly kidnapped and beheaded by jihadi rebels. Also, a short English-language video appeared where Fr. Fadi al-Hamzi told of how his uncle was recently murdered: "They killed him because he is Christian, they refuse to have any Christians in Syria. … I'm not afraid; my uncle died, he's immortal now. I can be like him." When asked if he was worried if Christians would be massacred if the U.S.-supported jihadis overthrew the government, the priest said , "Yes, yes, this will be… they don't want us here." Christians were in Syria 600 years before Islam conquered the nation.

About this Series

Because the persecution of Christians in the Islamic world is on its way to reaching pandemic proportions, "Muslim Persecution of Christians" was developed to collate some—by no means all—of the instances of persecution that surface each month. It serves two purposes:
  1. To document that which the mainstream media does not: the habitual, if not chronic, Muslim persecution of Christians.
  2. To show that such persecution is not "random," but systematic and interrelated—that it is rooted in a worldview inspired by Sharia.
Accordingly, whatever the anecdote of persecution, it typically fits under a specific theme, including hatred for churches and other Christian symbols; sexual abuse of Christian women; forced conversions to Islam; apostasy and blasphemy laws that criminalize and punish with death those who "offend" Islam; theft and plunder in lieu of jizya (financial tribute expected from non-Muslims); overall expectations for Christians to behave like dhimmis, or second-class, "tolerated" citizens; and simple violence and murder. Sometimes it is a combination.

Because these accounts of persecution span different ethnicities, languages, and locales—from Morocco in the West, to India in the East, and throughout the West wherever there are Muslims—it should be clear that one thing alone binds them: Islam—whether the strict application of Islamic Sharia law, or the supremacist culture born of it.
